Social issue- the prison and the authority to withhold the compensation of the criminals

So lets say you were in jail for 16 years, and while in prison you worked in the kitchen for about 4 hours a day and your hourly wage is 3 dollars. now the question is should you be entitle to that money once you done serving your time? What if you are a father with two children and the state claims that you owe child-support fees, and the state authorities also claim that you owe fees from services you had received while in prison?

Whats your take on this issue?

In Massachusetts, inmates are dropped off outside the homeless shelter upon their release if no one is there to meet them. With nothing but $40 and the skimpy clothes upon their back they are forced to find jobs in what seems like a unkown World. . keep in mind while in prison society becomes more technologically advanced. New products come out. Technology changes and so does the skills required to do jobs, unless you are a mathematical genius.

When i was in county lock up years back, i use to work in the law library. They paid like $10 a week, and i worked like 8-10hrs a day. I wasn't doing it for the money, but just wanted to keep myself busy and u get to play around with the computer (lol i made few posts from there). Anyways, that $10 they pay u goes into ur account and u can use it to buy commisary, phonetime, protection, whateva u want. When i got out, i had like $200 in my books (thats from family putting money in my account) and the state gave me a check for that and nothing more. They give you the same clothes you came in (they dont ******* wash it) it does't matter if u can't fit in them, or they too big or what not. And they tell you to walk out at exactly 9 oclock, couldn't care if its -100 degrees, or snowing like hell. Doofaariin!
