Abusing academic titles has become a common somali trait

The only thing we lack is those titles unless it is real or something but it is not a trend anyway ,,,,,,

Drs are bloody academics you nincompoops, it does not matter one jot if the president or prime minster of a country is an academic or not (look at Mugabe). If he's not a shrewd leader of men he will not succeed no matter how many qualifications he has. Another case in point is Hamas and the PLO. Both are full to the brim with highly qualified people but Yasir Arafat still remains the best of the lot (even years after his death).

The rarity of titles is the real root of the misuse. We are not alone to flash with titles rightfully or not. The whole third world lack sufficient number of academics of different fields. This rarity makes titles more sought after. It also gives the carrier prestige, respect and other opportunities. Unlike us the rest of third world don't linger in a lawless state and therefore can be crime to carry unauthorised titles.
