I admire this phase of Somali history when the Siyad Barre regime was in its nascent state. This opposition to the regime was a milestone for the ensuing rest of Somali history

Somalia

Challenges to the Regime

The SRC announced on two occasions that it had discovered plotters in the act of initiating coup attempts. Both instances involved SRC members. In April 1970, Qoorsheel, the first vice president, was arrested and charged with treason. Qoorsheel represented the more conservative police and army elements and thus opposed the socialist orientation of the majority of SRC members. He was convicted of treason in a trial before the National Security Court and sentenced to a prison term.

In May 1971, the second vice president, Major General Mahammad Ainanche, and a fellow SRC member, Soviet-trained Lieutenant Colonel Salah Gaveire Kedie, who had served as head of the Ministry of Defense and later as secretary of state for communications, were arrested along with several other army officers for plotting Siad Barre's assassination. The conspirators, who had sought the support of clans that had lost influence in the 1969 overthrow of the democratic regime, appeared to have been motivated by personal rivalries rather than by ideology. Accused of conspiring to assassinate the president, the two key figures in the plot and another army officer were executed after a lengthy trial.

By 1974 the SRC felt sufficiently secure to release Qoorsheel and most of the leaders of the democratic regime who had been detained since the 1969 coup. Igaal and four other former ministers were excepted from the amnesty, however, and were sentenced to long prison terms. Igaal received thirty years for embezzlement and conspiracy against the state.

Laskaa...It is unfortunate you put Egal with dat lot. Egal (Alla Naxariisto) was one of the best in the Somali politics. He was well schooled politician and diplomat,more importantly he was Somali Patriot. I sincerely believe our history would have been different if his goverment wasn't overthrown by Sayid.

Sophist

I will take two towering individuals, both hold the office of primership. Both men had shown leadership of great stature, they are;

1.C/risaaq Xaaji Xuseen

2. Ali Khalif Galaydh

I shall pen down their entries later today or early in the morning-tomorrow Insha Allah.

Jumatatu

Please and please Sophist do not put these two men in the same paralel. C/risaaq Hussein is well reputed for his respect for people's opinion and democracy, and was the part of the machinary that kept Somalia in freedom of expression and election for over nine years. The other Galleydh however much he is termed us during Arta times he is though marred by accusations suggesting the looting of national revenue both the Barre regime and the Arta conspiracy.

Hussein is a legend in his own right and will be respected as such.

The idea of registering the trademark of all Orgi and related words with extensions of Orgi was simply to ensure that i get to use all the descent variations of it and at the same time denying others the chance to use against me all the negative variations of it one of which you have just tried to use.I kindly refer you to the copyright laws which you are violating as we speak.To avoid further legal action retract you comments and refrain from any further violations of the kind you have just commited.I am passing this on notice to Her Majesty's Crown Patent and Copyright office who will be in touch with you forthwith.Finally please address all your querries and comments/correspondents to the above quoted office.I thanks you in advance Sire
