Jigjiga (HOL) — In the arid Somali region of Ethiopia, a prolonged and severe drought from 2020 to 2023 has triggered a series of ecological and economic crises that continue to devastate the local livelihoods. The situation is further worsened by the destructive forces of conflict and flooding from El Niño, putting the region's pastoral and agropastoral communities at significant risk of heightened food insecurity and reduced resilience.
