Treacherous politicians and Somalia's demise

Recommended Posts

Mohamed Abdullahi Sifir - TFG Deputy PM & Info Minister - is known as Mr. Zero amongst his friends. A couple of years back, he was the campaign manager for Somaliland presidential candidate Mr. Ahmed Siilaanyo (KULMIYE Party chair). Today, he holds a top post within the Somali TFG - two opposing and contradictory political positions.

1. Shows how ridiculous and meaningless Somali politics of today is

2. Another indication that PM Ghedi's Cabinet is flawed and full of all kinds of political opportunists: cheerleaders, rebel ministers, Somalilander moles, etc.

3. Shows the fault with the 4.5 formula - Mr. Sifir is appointed to such a position because he ranks high on the 'Northwestern Somali' quota

4. Puts into question the legitimacy of many Somaliland politicians (incl Ahmed Siilaanyo, for how did he allow such a man to represent him in the first place?)

At the end of the day, Mr. Sifir isn't a lone ranger by any stretch of the imagination. Many of these so-called Somali politicians are flip-floppers of the unknown kind. How can we expect these goons to take on the heavy task of nation-building? Regardless of what angelic picture some people might paint of the TFG, its an institution who's enemies are from within and who's demise will come from within. Period.
