The wager

Lazily her fingers traced over planes

Scorching where ever they lay: skimmed

As if his body were nothing more: less than

Connected parts of a furnace; Ablaze, he sighs

Discouraging words his eyes bespake

As fingers: molded, stroked, a lighted a fire

Where they pleased: to their content, satisfaction

Finding sublime pleasure in torment; ashamed, he lays

His passion re-birthed: his hunger un-sated

Her objects of sin hover most temptingly above:

His tongue held with brindled, utmost concentration

Restraint personified, she smiles; untamed, he dares her

Yet the fires of his arousal: want, alight they stay

As limbs intertwine, wind most beautifully: most desirably

As they ready: able themselves like dew petals of a noon flower

Eager to receive the blessing of the setting sun; weary, he waits

Submit she encourages: demands; her body posed wantonly

As she hungrily seeks most succinctly his desire: he withdraws

Panting loudly, his body immobilized unbidden; he shakes his head

The cold water of failure douses her flames of lust; defiant, he smiles

The pleasure of flesh: inexpressive as an unspoken thought

She, Eve’s daughter has failed to bring another sin against man

Hopeless; remorse burning; branded; carried against her full breasts

She lays down: akin to the level of her morale: triumphant, he laughs

He had mastered his desire.
