Somaliland: President Muse Bihi Arrives In Kenya On Official Visit.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi and a senior delegation have arrived in Nairobi, Kenya.

The President and his delegation visit Kenya at the invitation of the Head of State, Uhuru Kenyatta. The two leaders are expected to meet presently, to discuss areas of mutual interest pertaining to regional security, economic and social cooperation and democratic partnership.

This is the first visit to Kenya by President Muse Bihi since his election in 2017. Kenya assumes its 2 year membership on the UN Security Council in January, 2021, and most forecasters expect Nairobi to spearhead Somaliland’s quest for de-jure recognition in that forum.

The President and his delegation are also expected to meet with members of the Somaliland community in Kenya.

Somaliland plays host to a significant Kenyan community engaged in commerce, education and other social sectors.
