Urgent: Sick Somali girl [Hibaq Abdi Ali]... needs help

Recommended Posts

Dear fellow members.

I have been contacted by a Somali organisation based in Mogadishu named IFTIN . They help women and children.

They have brought to my attention the case of Hibaq Abdi Ali she is nine years old. She was born with an unknown illness, which the local medical authorities could not diagnose.

She sufferes from a severe skin disorder, and with age has become worse. Lately it has started to affect her face covering her eyes and making her partially blind.

She is the youngest of a family of 10, who suffered in the war. Her father left her when she was born because of the way she looked.

Her mother is poor and unable to help her.

I need you to help me in getting her case across to all relevent bodies that you may know or are familiar with..

Any organisation, telephone, websites any, kindly forward it on this thread...

Can anyone forward me the contact of Mr Doloowa in Australia?

Everyone please do your bit, I will forward more information regarding her case including pictures..

Do not hesitate to contact me on this web site..

Many thanks...

The child looks like she has a very rare form of Ichthyosis. Most of the forms are genetic, but some forms are also acquired. To put it simply, the lack of moisture in the skin causes abnormal fish like scaling of the skin. unfortunately, there is no cure for this disease, therefore the treatment options avaliable are only a way of managing symptoms....most of the treatment avaliable is aimed at keeping the skin moist.
