Deeq A. Posted December 28, 2019 The death toll in the deadly attack at Ex-Control intersection in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, has risen to 60, health officials have reported. Most of the casualties have been taken to Madina Hospital which has received at least 70 dead bodies and over 90 wounded people. Other hospitals that received casualties include the Somali-Sudanese Hospital and Digfeer Hospital. At least two Turkish engineers and a dozen policemen are reported to have also died in the attack, in addition to over 30 students of the Banaadir University whose mini-bus was passing by the scene at the time of the bombing. It is believed the attack was targeted at a control check used to collect taxes in the area. Al-Shabaab terrorist group in the past carried out similar attacks in Mogadishu, but the group has so far not claimed responsibility.
