UAE Vice President boards first Metro train that left Mall of the Emirates Station Gulf News Report Last updated: September 09, 2009, 21:24 Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, boarded the first train that left Mall of the Emirates Station on Wednesday. Shaikh Mohammad punched in the first ticket exactly at 9pm, 9 minutes and 9 seconds. Shaikh Mohammad introduced Blue Nol cards. The Blue cards are personalized with his picture. At the opening of the Financial Centre station a commemorative coin will be launched; at Khalid Bin Waleed station poetry will be recited; at Union Square the ‘passage to the future’ will be launched; at Terminal 3 a mosaic portrait will be launched; and at Rashidiya station a lego sculpture will be installed. Earlier, Shaikh Mohammad accompanied by officials and members of the press arrived at the Mall of the Emirates Metro station on Wednesday night, for the official launch of the Dubai Metro.
