  1. Jasmine, i've heard of cambridge but are you sure there are Somali's at Oxford?
  2. I was wondering whether any somali's have managed to enter Harvard/Oxford/Cambridge and the like? any body know anybody?
  3. one day those Somali's will belong to a unified, enlarged Somalia, with all its historical territories, i hope i stay alive to witness it.
  4. lets all calm down we have undoubtedly arab blood in us, in fact some clans claim they are descendents of the prophet(SAW)himself! Being related to arabs is i feel an honour, not the arabs of today, but those of yesteryears. Somalia is not in the Arab League for nothing, arabs recognise us as arab descendants. We have also some African blood leaving us as... ....African Arabs i.e. a darker version of North African Arabs (i.e.Morrocans) This is good for our religion and our pride because we have the best of both, we look better than jareer and arabs!

    Pope

About a decade or two ago, the Pope decided that all the Somalis had to leave Italy. Naturally there was a big uproar from the Somali community. So the Pope made a deal. He would have a religious debate with a member of the Somali community. If the Somali won, the Somali could stay. If the Pope won, the Somali would leave. The Somali realized that they had no choice. So they picked a middle-aged man named Faraax Jamax to represent them. farax asked for one additional condition to the debate. , neither side would be allowed to talk( No Italian you see). The Pope agreed. The day of the great debate came. Faraax Jamac and the Pope sat opposite each other for a full minute. Then the Pope raised his hand and showed three fingers. Farax looked back at him and raised one finger. The Pope waved his fingers in a circle around his head. farax pointed to the ground where he sat. The Pope pulled out a wafer and a glass of wine. Farax pulled out an apple. The Pope stood up and said, "I give up. This man is too good. The Sikhs can stay." An hour later, the cardinals were gathered around the Pope asking him what had happened. The Pope said, "First I held up three fingers to represent the holy trinity. He responded by holding up one finger to remind me that there was still one God common to both our religions. Then I waved my finger around me to show him that God was all around us. He responded by pointing to the ground and showing that God was also right here with us. I pulled out the wine and wafer to show that God absolves us from our sins. He pulled out an apple to remind me of original sin. He had an answer for everything. What could I do?" Meanwhile, the Somali community had crowded around Farax Jamax. "What happened?", they asked. "Well," said Farax, "First he said to me that the Somalis had three days to get out of here. I told him to f *@ k off and not one of us was leaving. Then he told me that this whole city would be cleared of Somalis. I let him know that we were staying right here." "Yes, and then???", asked the crowd. "I don't know", said Farax, "He took out his lunch, and I took out mine!!! And then he said that we could stay.
  6. You are certainly right about the mysterious link between China and Russia, last month i was listening to a lecture given by the current Russian Space departments minister of foreign affairs, and one person in the lecturing hall asked: 'To what extent do China and Russia work together in today's Space industry' and the answer had what seemed a tinge of harshness : 'Russia and China today do not work together in Space but in very small circumstances, as China is more and more becoming independant.' This is but a sample of the many areas these two mega-nations clash, and the fact they share the same border and therefore are each in danger of the other is another point to remember.
