    Here is a brief description of Mogadishu in the 1330 by the great explorer Ibn Battuta He says;

     

    "Mogadishu is a very large town. The people are merchants and very rich. They own large herds of camels…and also sheep. Here they manufacture the textiles called after the name of the town; these are of superior quality and are exported to Egypt and other places"

     

    I will not post what he wrote about the northern region of Somali, I assure nothing in comparison to Mogadishu, more than 600 years later nothing has changed. Mogadishu was the heart and soul of Somalia back then and InshaAllah it will be once again in the near future.:)

    The reporter is heartless I can't believe what I heard 'unofficial' 'unrecognised' in the middle of a desert. Ouch! couldn't help but laugh. Well FYI, Coca Cola has been in Mogadishu since 2006, a city that's been ravaged by clan wars and conflict for two decade, however it took the break away region of Somalia, some six years later to get there, what a pity! Somalia in its current chaotic state is so many years ahead of the so called independent state of Sland. war dee isku xishooda oo waxaan oo kale meesha ha la imaanina. By the way, here is the link to the opening of the Coca Cola plant in Mogadishu in 2006.

I recall seeing pictures of Somali politicians of my dads era wearing their crisp and nice cut Italian pin-striped suites.... Horaybaa loo yiri "rag waa ragii hore" waxa hadda siyaasiyiinta isku sheegaya oo maanta joogaa waa huubo aan heybad, hanaan iyo heykal midna laheyn.

    I visited UK a few years back it was my first visit and I assure you my last visit, the Somalis lived in what I considered Ghetto's. And three Somali boys between the ages of 14-17 years where shot dead my other Somali boys because of 'suburban warfare' how pathetic.
