  3. Everywhere are clocks:

    Timers turn leaves,

    Tell birds to take off,

    Fish to return home,

    Restore desire,

Shift scenery in the night sky.

Lions and fish, crabs and virgins

Move to the music of the moon,

As we, too, dance to symphonies

Unheard. The year is a melody.

We sing our lives in harmony

    With singers invisible, magical,

    Fellow musicians whom we love

    But do not know.

The air is alive with chimes

    Which summon us to celebrations

At which we feast on tears.

  4. A major source of discontent and unhappiness the feeling of inadequacy and incapability, while opulent people enjoy the pleasures and luxury of life. The most effective solution to such a source of uneasiness and suffering is to forget about people with higher standard of living; for if you compare yourself with such people you will only incur misery. You would find solace when you dicover that you are endowed with more blessings by Allah than many others. We have already been guided to this golden rule given by Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him ) in the following words:

"Look at those inferior to you, and do not look at those superior to you. Thereby, you would be able to appreciate better the benevolence of Allah bestowed upon you." (Narrated by Imams Bukhari and Muslim)

On another occasion the Messenger of Allah (Peace and blessing be upon him ) said: "When any of you happens to see one on whom Allah has bestowed more riches and a finer physique, he should look at one who is inferior to him (in this respect)." (Narrated by Imam Bukhari)

A Muslim is generally satisfied with his lot from Allah regarding such matters which fall outside and beyond his means and ability. This, however, does not indicate any defeatist attitude or fatalism In its passive denotation; rather, a Muslim exercises his free will actively and enjoys a dynamic personality. As part of his faith, a Muslim believes in the Day of Judgment and in the Divine Justice which gives him relief in cases where he finds no way to the fulfilment of justice. After all, everything in this world is ephemeral and What matters is not the worldly possessions one may hold but the right preparation for the Hereafter, in which the faithful and guided believer enters into the Eternal Abode of Bliss, where there shall be no bitterness or misery. This fact gives him a complete consolation and relieves him of his suffering For he is conscious of the fact that on that day justice will prevail and everybody will be able to receive his due, and no one will trespass on him, wrong him or boast over him. This awareness helps a lot to protect man from much anxiety and uneasiness.

In matters of religion, piety and acquisition of knowledge, we had better look at those superior to us In good deeds, upright behaviour and in the pursuit of useful knowledge.

  5. I do not know, where to go.

I know not what to say.

    But if you die,

    I promise this,

    I shall never cry.

    Our loves so strong,

    I know not why,

I will love in my heart,

without a single tear in my eye,

I promise you to never cry.

    I will be strong,

    And love you always,

    without a word,

    without a tear,

    I will love you always.

    And if I die,

    You shall not cry,

    I love you too much,

    too cause that pain,

and I hope you feel the same.

    But if I die,

    and leave you here,

    I will always be,

    so very near,

in your heart I may be..

    In your life,

    I shall be,

    but if this time,

    is too near,

Do not cry a single tear

    Keep the promise,

    and shall I always,

    I will not to cry,

    and to love always,

    I shall not cry.

  6. I know what the caged bird feels.

    When the sun is bright on the upland slopes;

When the wind stirs soft through the springing grass,

    And the river flows like a stream of glass;

When the first bird sings and the first bud opens.

And the faint perfume from its chalice steals--

I know what the caged bird feels!

I know why the caged bird beats her wings

    Till its blood is red on the cruel bars;

For she must fly back to her perch and cling!

And a pain still throbs in the old, old scars

And they pulse again with a keener sting--

I know why she beats her wings!

I know why the caged bird sings,

When her wing is bruised and her bosom sore,--

    When she beats her bars and she would be free;

It is not a carol of joy or glee,

But a prayer that she sends from her heart's deep core,

But a plea, that upward to Heaven she flings--

I know why the caged bird sings!

  7. I have only just a minute,

    Only sixty seconds in it,

Forced upon me, can’t refuse it.

Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it,

But it’s up to me to use it.

I must suffer if I lose it,

Give account if I abuse it.

It is only just a minute,

    But eternity is in it.

  8. Happiness is not store bought,

    Nor is it for sale.

    You cannot wish it up,

Or order it in the mail.

    It comes from inside oneself,

    And therfore it is free.

    To have it for yourself,

    You don't need any money.

    Just love people and things.

Be nice to those you hate,

    And maybe if your lucky,

    You'll find the perfect mate.

    This happiness you can find

Will last all of your days,

And help you through life's problems

In a lot of different ways.

Happiness is a thing in life

    That everyone should have

Because in the end the happy ones

    Are never really sad.

  9. I sit in one of the corners

    Of a unknown Street

    Uncertain and afraid

    As the clever hopes expire

Of a low dishonest decade :

    Waves of anger and fear

    Circulate over the bright

And darkened lands of the earth,

    Obsessing our private lives ;

    The unmentionable odour of death

    Offends the still night.

    Accurate scholarship can

    Unearth the whole offence

    From begining until now

That has driven a culture mad,

Find what occurred in a place we call home,

    What huge imago made

    A psychopathic people :

    I and the public know

    What all schoolchildren learn,

Those to whom evil is done

    Do evil in return.

    Exiled peoples knew

All that a speech can say

    About Democracy,

    And what warlords do,

    The elderly rubbish they talk

    To an apathetic grave ;

Analysed them all in their books,

    The enlightenment driven away,

    The habit-forming pain,

    Mismanagement and grief :

We must suffer them again and again.

    Into this neutral air

    Where blind skyscrapers use

    Their full height to proclaim

    The strength of Collective Man,

    Each language pours its vain

    Competitive excuse :

But who can live for long

    In an euphoric dream ;

Out of the mirror they stare,

    Imperialism's face

    And the international wrong.

    Faces along the street

Cling to their average day :

The lights must never go out

    The music must always play,

    All the conventions conspire

    To make this fort assume

    The furniture of home ;

Lest we should see where we are

    Lost in a haunted wood,

    Children afraid of the night

Who have never been happy or good.

All I have is a voice

    To undo the unfolded lie,

The romantic lie in the brain

    Of the sensual man-in-the-street

    And the lie of Authority

Whose buildings grope the sky :

There is no such thing as the State

    And no one exists alone ;

    Hunger allows no choice

    To them or us ;

We must love one another or die.

    Defenceless under the night

    Our world in stupor lies ;

    Yet, dotted everywhere,

    Ironic flashes of light

    Flash out wherever the Just

    Exchange their messages :

    May I, composed like them

    Of Eros and of dust,

    Beleaguered by the same

    Negation and despair,

    Show an affirming flame.

  10. Been denied access I was,

    Betrayed by my own,

    Seen all, cried for all.

Performed tasks to save your asses,

Born with the evil witches, saved the bitjes.

    Wizards gone in the blizzard.

Merchants and their serpents surround us.

Birds of prey are above us.

Who is me for I shall see till the end.

I watched my friend grow and die,

Progress is slow, Hope is low, and believe to achieve or leave.

    All we need is enlightenment!

The impulse of hell will scorch your souls,

I will see you live and die,

All you'll see is eternal life full and sorrow and happiness.

I will live till my end.

Thus will feel your pain and prosperity.

I will achieve my goal, peace for all,

    Never will it end.

    Who is me?

  11. Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.

If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something,

for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.

    During those times you grow.

    Be thankful for your limitations,

because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge,

because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary,

because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who

are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,

and they can become your blessings. ;)

  12. I THOUGHT THERE WAS ALREADY A SINGLE AFRICAN CURRENCY {AMERICAN DOLLAR}. smile.gif

ON A SERIOUS NOTE I THINK ITS A GREAT IDEA ,BUT I DOUBT IF IT WILL BECOME A REALITY IN OUR LIFETIME BECOUSE AFRICA HAS TOO MANY HURDLES TO OVARCOME, BUT WHO KNOWS AS LEFTY SAYS DREAMS DO SOMETIMES TRANSLATE TO REALITY.

I BELIEVE THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPENED IF THE UN STAYED NEUTRAL AND PLAYED FAIR IRAQ.

FAIRNES IS THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBLE STANDARDS,THE UN'S LAST NAME IS DOUBLE STANDARDS.

  15. An old woman is riding in an elevator in a very lavish New York City building when a young, beautiful woman gets into the elevator, smelling of expensive perfume. She turns to the old woman and says arrogantly, "Romance" by Ralph Lauren, $150 an ounce!"

Then another young and beautiful woman gets on the elevator, and also very arrogantly turns to the old woman saying, "Chanel No. 5, $200 an ounce!"

About three floors later, the old woman has reached her destination and is about to get off the elevator. Before she leaves, she looks both beautiful women in the eye, then bends over and farts and says, "Broccoli - 49 cents a pound.

  16. The U.N. Security Council voted 14-0 on Thursday to adopt a resolution welcoming creation of Baghdad's new Governing Council, with Syria, the U.N. Council's sole Arab nation, choosing to abstain.

The so called governing council were not elected by the IRAQI people ,but are a group of people brought together by the occupying forces and as the americans put it their actions can be vetoed by U.S adminstrator paul bremer!!! read into that what you like.

The U.S.-drafted measure also gave an initial 12-month mandate to the new U.N. Assistance Mission for IRAQ, which has been operating on emergency funding until now. The formal mandate will allow it to be funded in the regular U.N. budget.

In other words the occupation of IRAQ has been rubber stamped, approved and is now being funded by the UN ,which means every country that contributes towards the budget of the UN is an accesory to the occupation of IRAQ.

May god help the people of IRAQ , and forgive the muslim world for watchin idly while this crime takes place.

  17. A farmer just got married and was going home on his wagon pulled by a team of horses. When one of the horses stumbled, he said, "That's once."

Then it stumbled again. He said, "That's twice."

Then later it stumbled a third time. This time, he didn't say anything, just pulled out a shotgun and shot the horse dead.

His wife cried out and started to yell at him. The farmer turned to her and said, "That's once."

  18. The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said, "The best actions are continuous ones even if little..." [Muslim] After I looked at my own state and the state of those who waste their time, I wanted to encourage our souls to obey and worship Allah `azza wa jall by compiling a list of some well-known actions that Allah `azza wa jall has honored us with and prepared a great reward for those who do them. This list is also a reminder of better utilizing our time and seizing the opportunity of every hour and making use of it. My goal in compiling the list is not to point out the actions as much as to show the necessity of organizing and planning and preserving one's time by investing it in something good.

  19. The use of the word "restrictive" often comes from those who think they live a "free- life". But the fact of the matter is that, wherever you go you will find rules and regulations. For example, in the workplace, in colleges and universities and more obviously on the roads, i.e. the highway and green cross codes. Wherever you are, there are rules and regulations.

Islam forbids us to follow many of the rules which are held by western culture and subcultures. Yet people in the west are more than willing to obey them, because they believe that these rules will protect them. How wrong they are! Rave subculture is a classical example of this. Informal dance floor rules dictate to us ". . . . to drink lots of water, have frequent breaks and don't take too many pills in one go!" Despite these "recommendations", young people are still dying .

Western society is obsessed with 'safe sex', in order to 'prevent the risk of catching AIDS'. Despite the wide availability of contraceptives, AIDS is still on the increase, and people are dropping like flies from this killer epidemic.

Do we think of these rules as being restrictive? If anything you would expect them to bring about a sense of control and order, as well as increasing the pleasure. Without realising, people are ready and willing to accept many man-made rules. Rules that are invented by one group of people and to be obeyed by the rest of society. These rules are not perfect because man is imperfect, yet people accept them and hope and believe that they will benefit from them.

    A Better Offer!

So when the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth is offering a reward which is high, and the Benefit is eternal, shouldn't we at least see what's on offer?

"You desire the good of this world, but Allaah desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allaah is Almighty, All Wise"

    (Surah Al-Anfal 8:67)

". . . in a lofty Paradise. Therein will be a running spring. Therein will be thrones raised high. And cups set at hand. And cushions set in rows. And rich carpets (all) spread out"

    (Surah Al-Ghaashiyah 88:10-16) .

  20. THANKS FOR THE WELCOME GUYS .

I HAVE BEEN VISITING THIS SITE FOR A WHILE NOW JUST AS A SPECTATOR, SO I AM FAMILIAR WITH SOME OF THE CHARACTERS AND THE KIND OF DEBATES THAT TAKE PLACE,AND THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST SITE I HAVE BEEN ON.

SO WELL DONE TO ALL THE NOMADS BECOUSE ITS YOU THAT MAKE IT WHAT IT IS.

  21. THANKS FOR THE REMINDER SIS .

WALLAHI PEOPLE DONT REALISE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS THAT WE CONSTANTLY REMEMBER AND THINK ABOUT OUR DEMISE AND AKHIRA.

MOST OF US DONT THINK ABOUT THIS SUBJECT AS MUCH AS WE SHOULD BECOUSE WE ARE EITHER TOO PREOCUPIED WITH OUR WORLDLY AFFAIRS OR JUST DONT THINK ITS SUCH AN URGENT MATTER.

WHEN WE ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT WE CAN DIE AT ANY TIME ,AND WILL MOST DEFINATELY HAVE TO ACOUNT FOR OUR DEEDS FROM THIS WORLD, THIS HAS AN AFFECT OF STRENGTHENING OUR IMAN AND FOCUSING OUR MINDS ON WHATS IMPORTANT.

I NORMALY USE SHORT NOTES WHICH I STICK ON MY FRIDGE DOOR FOR INSPIRATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL PURPOSES, BECOUSE THEY ARE THINGS WHICH NO ONE CAN HAVE TOO MUCH OF.
