  1. Looks like its Ameena and Macruuf now ..the wedding has been set and the bells are about to ring:) ): that will be the day heheheheh Jamaal eat ya heart out:)
  2. The two people who married will always be the pillars that keep that marriage working. If for some reason or other one of them is weak and listens to everyone who comes around to their home, then that marriage is bound to fail. I think understanding what a marriage is and its responsibilities is paramount. In Diin as well as principally, a marriage always needs time commitment and hard work for it to succeed. I reckon a solid marriage with the two people knowing where they are heading to will not easily break as long as they are both remain strong for their own benefit. If that comes with great inlaws then thats bound to be happiness at its best. Your children will grew in avery healthy and loving environment.

Your eyes don't actually get strained staring at the monitor, just loses moisture and making the eyes dry. It has been proven that people staring at the monitor for a long time has the tendency to blink less than the normal rate. Make an effort to blink your eyes. If not, try eye moisture drops

  5. With troubleshooting there has to be common sense and logic that should be used to detect problems on a pc. When troubleshooting there are a host of problems. As for the gentlemans PC not booting, starting or even starting but not showing anything on the screen maybe due to many reasons. Simple logic tells you to start with checking the wires (Power, Mouse, and keyboard) are well connected. Check that the power cable on the PC is working and doesnt have a fuse blown or else you will have a long long time before you realise what the problem is. Make sure the Mouse are the keyboard is in the right place as in some case the computer wouldnt start if they arent in their respect order. If that is done check that the VGA is set properly as this is may give you a blank screen if not installed well. Some power supplies do have a switch behind them ..make sure its switched on before starting the pc. If all that fails, check the power supply itself and that could be done by replacing it with another of the same kind. If that fails then it has to be the memory. Check if the memory is settle in properly and that there is no dust around it. Check too that the different IDE belts are in place too and different wires supplying power to the motherboard are in place too. If all the above fail then your motherboard is probably fried and needs replacing. hope that helps.

  7. inaa lilaahi waa inaa ileyhi rajicuun I dont know what to say really. I didnt know him that much but I sat next to him just acouple of days before it happened. Last night I could sleep and was wrestling with this shocking information. It is very shocking when this happens especially when the brother was not even sick or anything. MAY ALLAH GRANT HIM A PLACE IN PARADISE. ILAAHAY HA UNAXARISTO. Bros and sisters remember this is just a journey and we should all remember this is xaaq. PRAY PRAY.

I shall endeavour to go back to school and study to become the first somali chef atleast profesionally and strive to become the first famous tv host who specialises Somali culinary expert brilliant in making canjeero, muqmaad and ofcouse what is known in many other parts of this world as Pilau..
  11. lol No offence taken just had to get u back too:)
  12. Suddenly there are reppercusions of not wanting to learn and not wanting to do. As Grey puts it she had to bin alot of food and utensils, break them and most of all eat pizza to the extent where she felt sick of it. If only she paid heed to her Mom she woundnt have had all the above problems. In any case she learned from her misgivings and managed to eventually stay in the hot kitchen. Lucky you never ended up with food poisoning. Well done Lassie.
  13. Arrogance arrogance arrogance **hhiihhh just the thought of it makes me shiver****
  14. Well to tell you the truth this thread is not to criticise but to discuss the art that was not meant for men originally being suddenly perfected by the so called lazy ones (Men). I dont think anyone who is lazy could afford working in a big hotel and serves hundreds of dishes to hundreds of customers. As for the ones who do cook at home. I would say that its not for leisure but to survive and live and ofcouse enjoy a decent meal rather than the usual junk thats everywhere. Waryaa Luzira: Kumaandeex wewe...have u come out Luzira yet? How r u doing bruv? Well you know what we went through I rest ma case.
  15. Apparently there has never been a complete census of the Somali geneology. However, it is said that the Somali people consist of two major divisions: the Somali proper (Samaale) made up of the Dir, ***** (Esa), ****** (Hawiya), and ******* (***** ); and the outcast Sab groups consisting of the Digil and Rahanwin, who are markedly different in their occupations and dialects from the rest of the population. The Somali language is classified as belonging to the Eastern subdivision of the Cushitic branch of the Afro-Asiatic phylum of languages (previously called Semito-Hamitic). Its a shame the least we know about the Somali history is what foreigner wrote for us. Just another cause for alarm.
  16. I totally agree with Ameena there. Education is supposed to enhance what you already got which is natural smartness. Some people are born with that and some have to be taught. Any kind of degree cant guaranttee that you are cool or smarter than one who hasnt been there yet. Infact the brother or sister who never got that chance could be far smarter but somehow circumstances didnt allow them to get there. I found out that little education could be dangerous to some. Some people never get to the stage where they know stuff... rather they get half baked and you know what happens to half baked food (tastes horrible). Any educated successful sisters can be approached as long as she is open minded and doesnt belittle or thinks shes smarter than everyone who approaches her.
  17. Oh my god now there is some lady who knows how to take the mick. It doesnt mean that when you post a lot you dont have a life my dear. It means one is more organised, smart and has a great hobbie too.
  18. Its said that Somalis came from two brothers known as Somali and Sab. The Somali of both groups are split into six dominant "clan-families" or maximal lineages--four Somali and two Sab. The clan-families are divided into clans (synonymous in much of the literature with tribes), and these are further segmented into lineages and sublineages. Can we get all the necessary information regarding the Somali genealogy. Is it true that we really came from the above two brothers?
  19. Kudoss to all the great contributors who have enlightened us with both their humour and talent. I salute you.
  20. I reckon TIME can always change what one thinks about another. With time you get to know the real person. Besides its only the person looking, Observing and listening who can be the judge of what they see or hear and at the end of the day its what they see, hear, see and fancy that makes them come to the realisation that someone has the qualities they want.
  21. Hello ExD...thanks for your response. However, I wouldnt agree with you when you say London is one big Ghetto. Infact the word ghetto means a poverty, broken and washed down area of a city and despite London being crowded and all, its still a great city and has plenty to show for it. As for the Architecture, this is done because the english are very proud of their heritage and have always preserved their history despite what others think or say. Its something to be proud of too as the english history has been well documented and has all the archives stored. Each building tells its own stories and one can touch aplace that was touched by the likes of the Kings and Queens as well as the more memorable characters like the grim ripper. (whitechapel). Anyway its true if one wants clean air London aint the place to be but then again there are not many jobs available towards the north and the architecture aint not different either. Ballerz all I can say bro is someones meat is another mans poison ...never liked southall...It drips with far too many crazy faraxs and xalimos man.
  22. Can you guys try to put together cities where somalis live in the different continents ie US, Australia and Europe. Ofcouse any other places too on this earth.
  23. Ok Lucky I have to say first and foremost this used to be an art that was perfected by women and because so many have lost it we the men have to come up and make sure that what our moms and grannies restapies don’t go down the drain since a lot of the sisters come to view cooking as something that belittles them or at least that’s the impression I usually talk of kitchens etc. It has also come to my attention too that when u go to major restaurants world word and the best of chefs we see men taking over. As for Somalis I tell you what I wouldn’t mind starting a cooking contest between the girls who still got it and those who think they can still do it but prefer having long nails polished than prepare a meal. Its great to see that your Mom did a grand job and taught you how to cook. I have a few friends of mine who depend mainly on take aways and boy have they grown big or what. I guess you would have to blame laziness for their sudden trailers. Believe me some of our moms could cook without ever looking at books as they used their experiences and instinct to make that unforgetable cake, tea or iskuduuuugJ: The organization factor. This is closely related to the experience factor. Many men work at jobs which require organizational skills. Briefly, men do organization. Organization of tools, paper, buildings, cities, nations. In my case, I've spent most of my life organizing people and words. In this regard, I firmly believe that the largest single skill a person can bring to cooking is organization. Anyone who can read can follow a recipe, but getting all the components of a balanced meal on the table requires organization: the salad, the bread, the vegetable, the starch, the meat, and the dessert. Naturally it helps if the meal looks good, smells good, and tastes good. I have a good friend who is a premier chef in London. I've watched him work in his restaurant kitchen. He works with incredible speed and grace and his food is both succulent and beautiful. It is also organized, as is his kitchen and his staff. His particular genius is with color, flavor and creating the unusual from the available, but his success is due to his organizational skills. It takes a young man or a young woman a long time to develop those skills. Raliya Sis I’m sure there are many siters, moms n grannies who still excel in cooking but I have to say for the younger and upcoming generation, they wouldn’t the difference between kirissh iyo miriish and faalfaalJ. When I go to see some of my friends, what they present to you (food) as bachelors sometimes blows you away and yet some sisters would still want to present you with English tea. Tamina having been burned, bruised and cut on many occasions, I would have to say it was well worth it. The pleasure one gets for making an excellent meal is absolutely lovely. You know that you have made many of your guests day a very happy one. Lets face it, to all of us a great meal when at home or at restaurants really makes you blossom.
  24. Hey Lady you will never know how nice it is to cook with firewood. I remember once when we used to go camping and cooking outside with the moon shining and the little insects making music instead of records. The smell of the coffee and the roast on the fire and not to forget the smell of the embers burning. The stories that come naturally rather the unnatural ones that are often told in restaurants etc. Nostalgia Oh my mama miyaaa. Lady Aruba Lobster wouldnt be something I would really fancy as the site of the insect looking thing scares the daylights out of me. However, if you say something about Chicken roast, fried spicy fish etc then Im your guest any day. Just remember if you dont do agreat job then you would have me as a critic as well as someone who would show one or two simple dishes.
