Is it wise to go to university, or is it better to teach? Professor Russell Ackoff is an 88-year-old subversive. He is also a business school professor emeritus, which makes what he has to say about education in general and business education in particular even more interesting. In London to launch his new book on management flaws, or F-Laws, Professor Ackoff's central point was this: "We have to understand the whole before we can understand the parts - what matters is their interaction." Easy to say, but hard to learn, even for the world's business schools. More from this old professor, facinating ideas! How to avoid the fatal F-Laws

The Associated PressPublished: March 9, 2007 WELLINGTON, New Zealand: A middle-aged New Zealand woman rang police to report a theft of cannabis plants she had been growing in buckets at her North Island home, local media reported Saturday. The crying woman told a constable at the police station in the city of Napier the plant theft was the fourth from her property in four years. The woman, 45, lamented someone had again sneaked on to her property at night to steal her three carefully nurtured marijuana plants. "I am a good person. I am sick of these low-lifes stealing my things," the unnamed woman told a police communications officer. Senior Sergeant Mal Lochrie told local media late Friday the officer found it hard to stop smiling as the women gave details of the theft over the phone. A community constable who visited her to take details of the theft had also warned her that her horticultural pursuits could have legal consequences, Snr. Sgt. Lochrie said. Police had decided no action would be taken against the gardener, he said.

These nomads have some where to escape, but actually the first climate refugees will be from the pacific island states. Global Warming Threatens Pacific Island States By Kathy Marks 27 October 2006 The Independent While rich nations tinker with policies that may shave their carbon dioxide emissions, low-lying South Pacific nations such as Kiribati are sinking beneath the waves. Kiribati, an archipelago of 33 coral atolls barely 6ft above sea level, is vanishing as global warming sees the oceans rise. Yesterday, its president, Anote Tong, warned Australia and New Zealand - the two developed countries in the region - to prepare for a mass exodus within the next decade. >> Global Warming Pacific Island states

Dogs are useful animals, highly intelligent and can be used as dog-guards. I would keep one, as long as I follow the proper Islamic way of handling them.
