  1. ^Why impose your preferences on your women folk? Isnt that selfish?? As for the bachelors your talking about - maa miyaad rabta gabdhuu iney sariraha hosta kasoo bixiyaan?..Lol. Honestly, it matters not how many good brother or sisters are out there, when it comes to an individuals choice..
  2. ^Lol. baal wax isku soo ceelceeli next year - aana iis racne - we can hit Zanzibar, Pemba, Ngazija Islands, perhaps by then Mogadishu would be safe enough to go sip a cup of coffee at Jaazira beach.. ...
  3. ^Nonsense. Ninka ama gabadha revertka maa aari baa? I am sure, they will make sure their children arent fed pork or led astray by their non-muslim families. Those I know, have actually become a great influence to their families - to the point of influencing them to convert too. Furthermore kuwi Muslimnimada laguso koriye, from generations have become atheist, drunks etc etc - there are no life gurantees to what ones child will turn out to be, hadhaa taasi kaa baqaneysaan. All I see is fear , prejiduce - My opinon its misguided, there is nothing fantastic about being a Somali nor marrying a Somali - what is important is Islam and a Muslim, either born in Islam or converted into it. "Wa ra'aytah- naasa yadkhuloona fee deeni-laahi afwaajaa" - And you see that the people enter Allah's religion in crowd - Surah An nasr The more the merrier - Allahu Akbar!!
  4. *Watching - Cuba , an African Odyssey* - You can watch the documentary here : http://www.theafricachannel.co.uk/ Something fascinating about Cubans esp. Che.
  5. ^Lol, wax walan. I cant imagine raising little Rudy - will probably have to fly to Nebraska to abandon the little rascal...lol
  6. ^There are different levels of kissing .i.t - taa nu dideynaa is when you start bowing like a Japanese as soon as your boss walks in - you say how high as soon as he/she opens their mouth - before they even asked you to do any jumping..Lol Not kissing .i.t to me means confidence in ones ability without having to grovel nor quiver for no man.
  7. ^I was istupid enough not to dress approprietly yesterday - dabeel iyo roob baa jire. I also had to cover a PE lesson outside -...My DNA is not designed for this weather..Lol. I should be in Zanzibar or Commoro Islands or Bahamas.
  8. ^Thats what I meant, sometimes its not within them to have ability nor the stamina to raise children. I also think , western societies way of life encourages one to be so self involved that if any time one is asked to put themselves out there for anyone it becomes a mundane task. Not saying there arent such women in our own society - kuwa caruurtoduu habeen iyo maliin inkara weyjoogan on top of abandoning them. I work with an elderly lady - wexee dashee labo gabdood - miid waa ciyalaa suqaad - the other day she tells me, its not her business to help guide her daughter - waan weydiyee - so when did being her mother ended - kulaha when she turned 18..Lol.
  9. Winter is here definetly - suffering from a sore throat. I hate winter.
  10. ^It's called being a Somali. One of the characteristics I am so proud of - is having the courage not to be ' bu.t.t kisser'
  11. ^Lol - maa ila aragtee - they dont mind a Senegalese, lakiin have an issue with a 'cadaan' revert..lol Waa runtiina the guy was a Muslim anyway, lakiin waxaan anigu uu jeede the open mindness of the family in regard to his background aka being a Senegalese.
  12. I think a society like ours cant comprehend anyone not wanting kids - we so believe having kids is the ultimate 'success' of life or a retirement funding guranteed - the more children you have the better chance of having at least a couple whom will be dutiful kids..a lottery of life one can say..lol Logically we know, that not everyone is cut out to be a parent - to be honest its one of the hardest job ever. There are a lot of damaged people out there and have very little to offer a child - I am a great believer if one hasnt got it within them, its best not to have kids. Why have kids when you will only torment them with your lacking in nurturing, loving, caring etc.
  13. Narniah all families arent the same - I know of a Somali family that went out of their way to make the revert fiance of their daughter welcomed. The family invited us[friends/family] to be part of the day the guy was visiting for the first time. The girls father/brothers/uncles were all present - it was 'out of this world' as the guy[fiance] was a Senegalese brother -to see a Somali family so humbled and so open minded was breath of fresh air - then again this family is very religious and pious people.
  14. Bless. My first job was working for my mother - as a receptionist/cashier at our restaurants, I did all my mothers tax return/insurance and wages - I was 17yrs old at that time - as for the pay, lets say, I was the best dressed teenager in town..lol I taught Swedish to 'immigrants' as my second job as teenager - I was 19yrs....as Juxa said, there is no going back once you taste the fruits of your labour.....the rest is history, am still on the labour market and might be as long as life is within me. I encourage any girl/woman to earn their own living - its liberating!!

  16. AUN - fartun. This is why its called 'accident' - poor sister. How shocked must she be. It can happen to anyone. I remember one day trying to park at work, but the parking was full so thought to park on the pavement, because one accelarated more trying to get on the pavement - the car just flew off, tried to brake but because I panicked I pressed the accelarator even more..endend up hitting a tree.swayed into parked car denting it deeply and , ripping the side of my car off. Samir iyo imaan to the family - this is trully tragic.

  20. NGONGE;871974 wrote: Things have really gone downhill for A&T when the scripts start making eyes at him. Loool..You still convinced Blue is a script huh? Off topic : I always feel sorry for daughters of men that have low opinion of women - tolow how do they see their own daughters?
  21. Afternoon all! Alpha - there was no indication money was a problem at this wedding - Masha'allah it was. Oh. I have realised I no longer can rock 'high' heels - my poor knees.
