  1. As for Ghandi, his greatness was in the delivery of his message, that India should peacefully take of the yoke of colonial British rule. He brought a sense of dignity to his people. A highly educated and intelligent person he took of his western clothes and lived with the poor. A unifying figure who continues to inspire millions people. “Mahatma” or the great soul’s strategy was employed by a number of later leaders most notably Martin Luther King. Afarafat as NGOONE states was controversial yes, and the western media demonized him as a terrorist, corrupt and sinisterly Muslim and Arab. But Arafat or Abu Ammar as he was known by his devotees was a man of great stature Khalid Mashaal of Hamas described him as the immovable mountain of Palestine
  2. Maybe you don’t understand the definition of a hero. These men were my hero’s, Zidane inspired me by the sheer brilliance of his game, it went beyond a game and was like watching a beautiful play or a painting.
  3. ^^He was indeed a briliant student, a devout religious kid and as he looks in the pic he was quite frail. My heart goes out to his mother, siblings and relatives. Insha Allah there will be justice for the murdred youth and the missing ones. Those who hide behind the faith will not be successful.
  4. ^^^lool. Thats why we have differences of opinion. Ghandi liberated India, gave them self esteem and thus now they are on the verge of being a superpower. Mandela is well known and the AIDS accusation is weak, he served only four years as head of state before retiring the inaction was on Imbaki's tenure. Arafat, was Mr Palastine, before him the Jews never accepted a Palatinian state they used to claim Jordan was the Palastinian state. Arafat took a few refugees and turned them into a nation. He was more than a man and sadly my dear boy its you who is paroting the BBC & CNN jewish lies about him. Malcolm is the man he had courage when most did not. And Zidane is my hero for many reasons, notably that an Algarian made the French love their country.
  5. lol...oh no he is very forgetful...this guy and Duke wax ka indho adag maba arkin. Isteerinkooda 360 degrees ayey hadda wareejiyeen oo markii odaygii ay awalba daba ordayeen la ceyriyey meel ay u socdan maba yaqaanaan! ABWAN again highlights his lack of basic education, poor lad if you do a 360 degrees you end up in the same point. Thus we have not changed its you who seems to be all over the place
  6. "Zidane is one of the greatest players in history, a truly magnificent player." Franz Beckenbauer I think Zidane is the greatest talent we've known in football these last 20 years, yet he never played the prima donna," said Lippi. "I am honoured to have been his manager." Marcello Lippi
  7. “I come bearing an olive branch in one hand, and the freedom fighter's gun in the other. Do not let the olive branch fall from my hand.” Arafat The victory march will continue until the Palestinian flag flies in Jerusalem and in all of Palestine.” Arafat
  8. A man who tosses worms in the river isn't necessarily a friend of the fish. All the fish who take him for a friend, who think the worm's got no hook in it, usually end up in the frying pan. All these things dangled before us by the white liberal posing as a friend and benefactor have turned out to be nothing but bait to make us think we're making progress. The Supreme Court decision has never been enforced. Desegregation has never taken place. The promises have never been fulfilled. We have received only tokens, substitutes, trickery and deceit. Malcom X ".... It is a duty, it is your and my duty, as men, as human beings, it's our duty to our people, to organize ourselves. Let the government know if they don't stop that Klan, we'll stop it ourselves. Then you'll see the government start doing something about it. But don't ever think they are going to do it on some morality basis, no. So I don't believe in violence, that's why I want to stop it." Malcom X
  9. I dream of the realization of the unity of Africa, whereby its leaders combine in their efforts to solve the problems of this continent. I dream of our vast deserts, of our forests, of all our great wildernesses. Nelson Mandela “ During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to the struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." Mandela
  10. An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching. Mohandas Gandhi As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world - that is the myth of the atomic age - as in being able to remake ourselves. Mohandas Gandhi
  11. Ghandi a man who led to the liberation of Millions of people and who's message has stood the test of time Mandela the Ghandi of this century Malcom X A symbol of a nation
  12. Its all going to equil itself out. Soon all religious pretenders will have no room to hide. Strange really.
  13. ^^^You ask the same question. Yey's policies were correct, it was hampered by a few facts. Those who were waging war against his government argued that if he left things would change and war would stop. They blamed him for everything, and thus he was an obsticle to peace. Thus nothing has changed the war is even worse and mayhem has spread thoughout the country. The fact is Sharif Ahmed is using the same tactics without a coherent policy. The issue is why are the tactics of fighting Al Shabaab & Al qaeda right now?
  14. ^^^Adeer your point is invalid. The legend Yusuf had a plan and it worked, he told the truth and he finished his time. The Sharif is a fiber, he uses double speak at all times. Its clear he has no policy or plan other than trial and error and one can not run a nation in that way. Also this is 2009 the important point here is why did all those kids die if Yusuf's policies were right then and should Sharif Ahmed not be held acountable for causing their deaths, now that he himself is using the same tactics?
  15. Somali president warns of Al-Qaeda setting up base ROME: Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, a moderate Islamist, warned on Sunday that there was a ‘real risk’ of Al-Qaeda setting up a ‘strategic zone’ for its network in Somalia, as it did in Afghanistan. In an interview published in the Italian economic daily Il Sole 24 Ore, Sharif said Al-Qaeda has been eyeing the Horn of Africa nation with its long coastline and cells of extremist group already established there. ‘Al-Qaeda sees Somalia as a strategic zone like Afghanistan to establish its network. We have become a priority, It is a real risk,’ said Sharif, who will travel to Italy Tuesday for an international conference on his country, a former Italian colony. ‘We’re not talking about the Somalia of the 1990s. Today, there are Al-Qaeda cells in the country. It is no longer just Somalia’s problem, it’s the world’s problem,’ he told the newspaper. ‘The international community has a duty to protect Somalis and the government from Al-Qaeda. It must do it for the good of everyone.’ Stressing the ‘long and good relations’ between Somalia and Italy, he urged Rome to take the lead in getting the rest of the European Union to support his fledgling government under siege from a hardline extremist insurgency. Sharif’s government, which has been confined to parts of the capital Mogadishu, took up power in January after a UN-sponsored reconciliation process. —AFP

  17. Criticizing the US administration's role in the recent fighting , Sheikh Sharif said Washington was not acting in the interest of Somalis but was repeating past mistakes. President Bush's remarks on the presence of Al Qaeda in Somalia were "lies," to promote the US' war on terror, he added. According to western intelligence sources, the Islamic courts organization is sheltering Muslim extremists, some of whom have ties to Al Qaeda, including three suspected of carrying out the attacks on US embassies in East Africa in 1998. For his part, Sheikh Sharif emphasized that Osama Bin Laden's group did not have any presence in Somalia. "There are no fugitives from Al Qaeda or any other organization, as the US and Ethiopian intelligence services are claiming. This is an open country and strangers will be found out very quickly. Look at the number of lies Washington is telling about Iraq and Afghanistan. It is trying to repeat the same thing in Mogadishu but we will not let it." As for the Islamic union organization, accused by Addis Ababa of involvement in a series of terrorist attacks that hit the capital in the 1990s, Sheikh Sharif said it was no longer active, after suffering heavy losses because of the violent campaign Ethiopian forces launched against it. He also accused the Arab world of failing Somalia twice, the first time by ignoring the crisis in the country and the second by refusing to intervene to solve it and provide urgent humanitarian and financial aid to help save the lives of millions of civilians displaced by the civil war. "They [the Arabs] hear about us from the foreign media which exaggerates the news from Somalia and paints us in a way that suits its interest. None of [the Arabs] have thought of contacting us, like you did, to listen and learn about out our point of view. This is very sad." Our lad Shiekh Sharif has changed tune in less than three years..

  19. Remember when our Sharif used to say loudly that there were no Al Qaeda in Somalia? Those were the days, when if he told the truth we could have spared 10,000 youths of Mogadishu from being killed in a war of choice.
