  1. Salams folks, With the current economic turmoil how would you go about chasing a target big wheel dealer investor? I have already scouted my prospective investor and tried lots of ways and means to get hold of him to no avail. In all fairness knowing how busy he is and the scumbag envious leeches that surround him, I am even lucky if I do get a five minutes hearing with him. Any innovative ways, means to get hold of him/her. Perhaps some of you have a model for successfully landing one? I have so far tried cross-functional ways and teams of experts, from informant college students, exclusive lounge waitress to even a beautiful escort. How far would you go or how creative should you be in pursuing this target. Is stalking an option? How about doing blue collar job, volunteering at the elite hangouts (golf clubs, tennis courts et al) hoping to get that 5 minutes you need with him. I don’t personally mind going lateral for now and even sweeping the floor if it will buy me that five minutes hearing I need with my target. In my case and with the benefit of hindsight, it is clear(atleast to me) that the market was a much riskier place few months ago and this particular investor I am targeting was throwing money at stocks with losses or barely any gains. I do have a strategy and a potential alpha plan for him which will also make me a rich man Insha Allah. All in all my fellow sol folks, lets hear your ideas and smart money tactics on how to go about it. Appreciated.
  2. Evo Morales is obviously trying to impress his leftist friend and leader Chavez. I doubt Chavez or Morales care about Palestine. To them this is rather a political spat at US and hopefully a rise in crude prices.
  3. Salams all Anyone familiar with Haj schedule this year and wether traveling on 28th-30th November through 10th December is ideal time? I am able to squeeze in Haj this year if the above stated timetable fits. What about taking elderly folks with me? Is it advisable to stay beyond Eid to do the needed Umrah and other rituals. Someone familiar please advise accordingly. Appreciated.
  4. Buenos Tardes and thanks all for your feedbacks. I was wrong about Quito, been here for few hours and so far no major problem other than slight dizziness when we landed here. That too could have been caused by piss poor Copa Air. Pretty cheap place and good prospect for enterprising folks. I am looking forward to further exploring it in the coming two days and will update accordingly. Hopefully if I do get a chance also visit Galapagos islands. Eid Mubarak
  5. Salam folks, Anyone been to this place or for that matter lived in a high altitude city(Denver, Bogotá)? Has nyone who visited it had any issues with altitude sickness or asthmatic problems when visiting laces that are at high altitudes? I'll be in Quito from the first October for three nights and was wondering how likely altitude sickness is at 9000+ feet. I am mild asthmatic and was worried if altitude will adversely affect me. For those of you who had problems, how did you'll deal with it? Any local, perhaps herbal recommendations to relieve the headaches. Your feedbacks appreciated. Thanks all.
  6. Lander 29th is getting nearer. Good luck buddy. Che -Guevara works for JPM? What role che?. If you're in FX Derivatives holler mate, I need few pointers.
  7. China isn't cheap anymore. The renminbi has risen drastically and is expected to further rise against the dollar given the US current turmoil. Vietnam, Cambodia and to an extent Nepal are relatively cheaper places for manufacturing. Somalis who moved there recently or intend on moving are herd followers and will be in for a shock. It is still under stable for those coming from Africa, but western domiciled Somalis are better off staying where they are. The US based folks should explore opportunities in marekan now more than ever.
  8. Faarax-Brawn Gold is stable too but for one looking for immediate hedging against rising inflation crude is their best bet. If this negative real interest continues gold is a good bet. Oil will eventually come down when the financial sector settles or we reach a capitulation. I doubt a major fund is willing to take the brunt and be the hero. Who would want to catch a falling knife. We will see how it plays out
  9. Gold is a good hedge against inflation especially now that the FED is creating money almost out of thin air to bail out fat banker cats. Nobody really knows the future but gold and almost all commodities will do well when real interest rates are negative. If you're really looking for an inflation against hedge 'now' your best bet is oil(even though it was down today). When major pension funds like Calpers and high wheeler funds move to oil, it says something.
  10. Pujah Schumer seems alright, lets hope he will pull the same on Wamu, National City, Lehman. I am short on all of them. Faarax dude I am not a yank but If I were one I would move to my brother's ex resident state CT and see to it Dodd is gone. Looks like my brother was right about Dodd, he is a douche and a liar walahi. I am just bitter that the damned Fed and its goons are savings two dead cats(FRE/FNM) and slaughtering me(shorts) along the way. What a sad day If there is one thing I learned from this is to never go against Goldman Sachs and whatever they say. Them, the committee on foreign relations and Rockefeller cult own yankland and its inhabitants.
  11. It looks like the US Government is quite the charmer and a responsible fiduciary trustee. Why must it pour a large amount of money into Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in order to keep them from collapsing? Whatever happened to market taking care of itself no matter how much it hurts. Printing more money (liquidity)/opening the discount window is no solution. It's just postponing the inevitable--the total collapse of the financial system. Is this how the whole economy has been reduced to, borrow cheap money!! Now investment banks can do, next GM and Macy's. In a decade possibly every US citizen and illegal immigrant will be given access to the discount window too.. So much for the ''free market economy''. Chris Dodd had the audacity to come on CNBC earlier and say these firms have enough liquidity. Do these people take shacabka for fools!!! It will be interesting if Obama chooses him as a VP. Why the media, wall street, pundits blame shorts when its obvious they play a pivotal role in maintaining a market equilibrium and exploiting arbitrage wherever they maybe. We will see how shorts will be covered till Friday now that capitulation point is delayed further  . I am certain shorts will call their bluff and short FRM/FNM to zero. Maybe some of you somaliaonline deeper thinkers and hands on Wall Streeters have a better inside feel. Is Jim Rogers of Rogers Holdings the only sane fun owner/manager yank left when he rightly put Fannie/Freddie bail out as 'unmitigated disaster'. No wonder the dude moved to Singapore. Is this the end of US Government AAA rating? Will Bush, Zimbabwe Bernanke, Paulson, CNBC jerks turn the US into a military state. How do yanks here see whats unfolding. Looks like the US Government is heading for a slippery slope or is being prepared for a socialist system. Overall Marekan never looked more tempting to invest in. I am only familiar with the financial sector so Introducing Broker for small players and Broker-Dealer for those with decent liquid assets. For both these you can have structured managed accounts on behalf of investors and jump in now that things are bleak. Maybe yanks here in somaliaonline will shed some light on better investment opportunities. What are you guys doing about it. Anyone intending on leaving the US or possibly investing more. Let's hear them folks. Walee marekan balaa heesato. Somalida maxey dhihi jirtay wixii la qariyabo qurun baa ku jiro Good luck to my somaliaonline American friends and let's hope they make it through alright. PS: Those of you who bank with Washington Mutual and National City should be on the look out. You don't want the FDIC pulling another IndyMac on your money, especially if you have more than 100k in an individual account. Reero Ohio is ilaaliya.
  12. Any of you guys have problems with your tolka. For me they seem to be my worst enemy and show an obvious contempt, hatred and xaasidnimo. Walahi the the closer they are, the worst they seem in my case. This cousin the other day sarcastically commented on my bro and I had to kick him out of my office. One thing I learned from my mom is hadii kun qof walalka wax ka sheegan, kow looguma daro. Sadly this isn’t the first time these damned tol expected too much from me when I never indicated I was part of their tolka shenanigans. Whats up with xeero or gogol or whatever they call it. Why must every lunatic mouth warrior old man be called to represent me or someone I know in a dispute. This barbaric old man cousin of mine assaulted another dude in fadhi kudirir and they wanted me to foot the diyo or magan bill. Frankly I’ve had it before with that guy but yielded after my mom insisted. What was expected to be a simple gathering with one or two reps from both families sitting down together, cafis and call it a night turned out to be a whole tol and qabiil fadhi. I received another phone call from my so-called adeer shisheeye asking for more money for odayaasha!!! These are xaaraan kuu noolayaal live in damned USA. Why the phuck should I fork for their shaah. Again yielded after calming down and seeing there is no way I can elude it without causing a scene and a quick phone call to my mom. Fast forward to last week and my 16yrs old cousin is visiting their city to check out the city and her prospective college this fall. She called me earlier to hook her up with one these damned cidaha to chaperone her around and give her a place to stay. Being a senior high, it’s obvious she’s broke and wanted to cut on costs sharing a place with one of the tolka as she explores the city and her prospective school. The first mistake I made was expecting too much for the guy, calling him up and eedo to sort her out. Second mistake is wiring him some money uuku waji qarsado, basically bribing him to do me a favor and show her around, introduce her to her age mates (not that I expected him to know any), not belittled and embarrass himself by asking her for a cab fare etc. Not only did he not (out of courtesy) call me to tell me he did receive the money, but went on to ask the kid for extra. To top it off he’s been harassing her for past two days as I am told oo duqa shukansi ayuuba keenay. Nin weyn oo 40+yrs ah isagabo isku filneen muxuu is mooday bal. Walee ragii somalida buu ceebeeyay. Mideeda kale waa ciyaal oo adeerbuuba unoqon karaa. After she bolted, resorted to calling her names. I did not believe this until I got a call from him a little earlier. Dude had the audacity to tell me gabadha heedhe etc. Walahi I was furious, threatened him and told him to leave her alone. Further told him I’ll press charges if he ever talked her again and see to it that his pedophile **** ends up in county jail. Marka akhyaarey toloow ma anigaa seef labood noqday oo wax si iga yihiin tolkana u daran. Mise walee saan ani arko dadka iigu dhibaato badan oo jabkeeda jecel, xaasidnimo iskabo dee waa the so called Tolka. Walee hooraa loo dhahay maskiina misko la fuulo leh. Mid danbo lee ha ila soo galo ina adeer ama tolka. Sorry about the rant and your calacaal feedbacks appreciated.
  13. Good idea mate. Greedy folks need a place to pray and congregate. Not to forget insult Cramer and his cult followers. CNBC Sucks
  14. Goodluck Lander. 7th June is getting near. What level are you taking mate? Level 1 here.
  15. Just checked them up and they trade on TSX Venture Exchange. Basically a Canadian Pinksheet!! I doubt they will benefit from this forming energy bubble, but it will be interesting to see. Anyone access to TSX Venture exchange who can shed some light on them, maybe post a three month index. Why somali-centric though? I wonder if there are somali investors in this firm. It would be unique and definitely worthy watching.Whatever it takes to make a good buck.
  16. Faarax as Lander said it comes down to what you really want out of this. MBA from what I am told is more in depth compared to other certifications like CFA but that does not mean you cannot go far with either of them. I would assume MBA would come in handy in managerial positions in addition to covering the basic financial professional workload. Money is another factor to consider as CFA is a self study graduate program. If you have the time and money, why not get both of them(assuming you get into a top 10 Business School). Peruse below for a bit biased and CFA geared comparison. http://www.analystforum.com/121304.shtml Good luck.
  17. I read this in another forum and thought it would be worth a reading. Good stuff. http://media.ft.com/cms/78038ed0-22a6-11dd-93a9-000077b07658.pdf
  18. Guys not looking for wishful thinking here. I want analysis, both fundamentals and techical. Maybe trends I am missing here. Quotes, history et al. Big boy whale speculator Soros was right on the money yesterday but that still isn't convincing enough. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aekABl3XDb6g&refer=home What about European Central Bank President Trichet's protracted inflation comment today. Will this play out nicely for MPC and hopefully convince them to keep the rate still for few more months. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601068&sid=apnpagcH4shE&refer=home I want a good strategy, full of stats to convince the big boys dealers and make a buck while at it. Anyone..... PS: Where are the finance major junkies.. Gordon Gekko where are you dude?
  19. Has Voldemort fallen out of love with the euro? http://macro-man.blogspot.com/2008/05/has-voldemort-fallen-out-of-love-with.html Will Gordon and the MPC, the alleged people who are supposed to protect Sterling destroy it and in the process lead to a flight of currency from the country. As always are politicians favoring their rich banker pals and the need to prop up the housing market will always win over controlling inflation. Its obvious by now its the libor that is driving the cost of mortgages and not the base rate. both in england and the US. When will the brits learn to stop imitating Bernanke and his alpha cult. Will they maintain the status quo on the bank rate now that they lost the election. I am praying they do. Amen Is it worth betting against the MPC and BoE and seeking a 3 month forward currency contract at GBP/USD 1.9765! Will any major dealer even accept such a proposal or is it too dicey and risky. Anyone ever dealt with forward contracts here. Not futures as we would need a slight payment modification and thus a forward contract would be ideal given we are able to provide assurance that we wont default. Recommendations on good dealers, preferably boutique as I really do not how receptive major dealers (of GBP/USD like Citi, UBS Warburg, HSBC, RBC) are to small unknown players. What does this mean for me. Am I hallucinating or onto something here.
  20. thanks ibtisam and caano geel. Appreciate it
  21. No Ibtisam, still looking for mine. Lets hope someone here will be able to sort me out. ciao

  23. Hey folks anyone in sol trade in forex? What kind? I've been using market makers for a while now and am starting on ecn platform. I've been toying with the idea of quitting my job and persuing it full time. Hell I'll probably be fired as I spend a great deal of time scalping during working hours and have been warned twice already. Would anyone recommend such a move. Most of all how come somaliaonline doesn't have a business section!! Its about time we had one. Where are my xaasidiin, money hungry folks. Lets hear it.
