Aero, if you read my first posting, when i said virginity i meant hymen. But one question I was reluctant to ask her was: have u lost your virginity??? I didn’t know how appropriate that was. I mean those things are big, and you can easily rupture your hymen and bleed with ur menstrual blood and never know. Whenever i said virginity, i meant hymen. Here's a better definition for all of you guys: "The term "virgin" typically means someone who has never had sexual intercourse, specifically the penis entering the vagina". "Someone who has such a terrible grasp of biology could never succeed in nursing".lolz Hon, Biology is nothing... it ain't that hard. I just find nursing to be bit boring, and i would like to get paid more. Thank You As for nursing and the reproductive system as long as you know what is what, then u are okay . The biology that my brother studies is nothing compared to the biolgy that i used to do.

lol@pucca I would have thought the same. But who knows young girls might fine it less messy and being a teenager, hmmm! You want what’s in. Has anyone come forward about using tampons???? Anywayz, Like I said: "But one question I was reluctant to ask her was: have u lost your virginity??? I didn’t know how appropriate that was. I mean those things are big, and you can easily rupture your hymen and bleed with ur menstrual blood and never know." Obviously, rahima I was referring virginity to the hymen. One year ago, when I finished skool I had no idea what hymen was. Now, I was given the opportunity to see the hymen that was thick/and thin, not only that I have seen uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes taken out. I call these gurls virgin tampons. My experience in this department has increased... and will continue Rahima in future, before hoping into the wrong wagon I suggest you clarify things. Like I said: "Virgin-Tampon= someone who lost their hymen to a tampon" I suggest you scroll back  Your last post was unnecessary once again. -------------------------->

Warrior, it some ppl who started accusing me and putting words into my mouth. I really don't know ur definition of a virgin. But i know i am on the right track here. Hymen can also be applied as a "virginity". most ppl don't what the hymen is or where it is. Virgin= someone who has not had sexual intercourse Virgin-Tampon= someone who lost their hymen to a tampon was that confusing. All i said is that, tampons break ur hymen(they do) aka virginity, so why do some somali gurls bother? But i did not say that she will be classified as a non-virgin. Frankly, no one has answered my question, yet they willing to give me some non-sense for reply which is out of the topic and a waste of time to read  .

I hope you find the above answers useful. I detect high levels of anxiety, I hope your hymens are intact gurls, if they not... don't worry lolz, just let it be. I hoped that hepled.

"Will riding horses or bikes stretch the hymen? What about tampons or pelvic exams? Some people fear that doing things that might cause trauma to the hymen during childhood (bike-riding, gymnastics, etc.) should be avoided; the rationale is that if the hymen tears before intercourse, the girl/woman is no longer a virgin. That is why tampons are often discouraged among Muslim girls and many Muslim women will not have a pelvic exam until after they are married. Sometimes these prohibitions are taken to the absurd: I advised a patient once to exclusively use tampons because she was allergic to sanitary napkins. The problem was she was visiting from Saudi Arabia where she said tampons are not available and she wasn't sure she would be allowed to bring any into the country from the US. Riding a bike and doing gymnastics will not tear the hymen, which is internal and requires direct trauma and vaginal penetration in order to be stretched. Using tampons may be the best choice for women or girls who suffer from heavy bleeding during their periods. Furthermore, avoiding pelvic exams until after marriage can endanger a woman's life if she has a gynecologic problem that goes undetected over time. For those women who cannot overcome their worries about the hymen, gynecologists can use various techniques that avoid tearing or stretching the membrane. Is an intact hymen required by Islam as evidence of virginity? The notion of "hymen as proof of virginity" has no basis in Islam. There are no texts (Qur’an or Hadith) that address this specific question. Clearly, however, the Islamic legal tradition mandates chastity before and after marriage for both men and women. What evidence does a Muslim have to give? His or her word. If one is challenged by others, then the accusers must bring four eyewitnesses or suffer the punishment of slander. So why should a woman have to offer physical proof of her virginity? Why isn't her word good enough? In a religion that argues for egalitarianism, it doesn't make sense that a woman has to prove she's a virgin but a man does not. My opinion has always been that a woman is no longer a virgin when she has sexual intercourse with a man, not when she inserts a tampon into her vagina or when a doctor inserts a speculum to view her cervix. Virginity and chastity are about preserving one's sexual relationship in a manner that is sanctified by God. If using a tampon were a form of "intercourse," would the punishment for adultery or fornication naturally follow? Of course not, and you would think I'm crazy for even asking such a ridiculous question. But we need to think carefully about our habits, especially those that are rooted in cultural attitudes that don't necessarily live up to the true essence of our faith." ^^^ exactly my point. Why use it? warrior, just like rahima you are not only jumping to conclusions but putting words in my mouth. Hear me loud and clearly: You can lose your virginity by house riding, ballet, doing gymnastics and TAMPONS TOO. But still you are virgin who has not had sexual intercourse, but a virgin with no hymen with a vagina the same size as a tampon . lolz

No, it’s not a shock to me. Is it a shock to you that some ppl are born without arms and legs? Are they still a human being? And how does an ignorant individual determine that? Jeez, Woman. You have completely missed the point. When I said "experience" I wasn’t even thinking about faraax’s. But that’s all that came to your mind. There are some older women who can tell the difference. These women can have experience in circumcision, have seen a lot or are midwives. Men could tell the difference of what’s damaged and what’s not. But I wonder if they can tell a tampon user from a non-tampon user given the fact that both have the hymen intact. Muscles atrophy if not in use. For the normal woman. The hymen is inside the introitus, and in the virgin obviously the hymen usually restricts the opening of the vagina. Having said that and one using tampons, I wondered would remnants of the hymen remain? Cause it doesn’t when a women first engages in sexual intercourse. I am asking the questions at the wrong people. Maybe i need to have a quick chat with claire a friend of mine who is a gradute medical student). Anywayz I was hoping that the sista I came across have notice any difference. But I was too shy to ask. Using tampons, chances of one bleeding would be rare if she had sex for the first time. And first time husbands can expect the wife to bleed, as for Somali men and other cultures who can’t wait to hang the white sheet the next day. Of course not every women bleeds due to the misfortunes in life that she might come across. But my question is why would any young women; want to use a tampon given the fact that she was born with her hymen. If you really do think about it, you do cause a bit of damage. Using tampons say at least 5days a month, using two or changing sizes due to your flow and using it for a couple years before you get married. Hmmm! Rahima, I don’t know what you contributed to this topic other than faraax this and faraax that which is unnecessary  . That’s where experienced SOL faraax’s come handy. Last time I think I vaguely remember you about a circumcision debate, you were saying non-sense stuff but at the end it turn out that you won’t circumcise and were defensive. This time share ur tampon experience or else you know where the next topic is. -------------------> Ps: at least my ignorance is not to say that all Muslims are true believers. As for hijaabGurls I have my experiences with them to say that. Sorry warrior maybe I was quick to generalise. Lexy, you are not to determine who is allowed to reply or not  . As long as they are not jumping to conclusions, then they are .

Didn't really think of the internet. But their is no shame sis, anyone can come forward and share their experince. No one is being degraded here. looooooooool@lexy, my god, Gambar I had no idea about that. Warrior of light, I’m shocked. As matter of fact its just me and lexy here who refuse to try tampons. By the way lexy, thanks for the tip... I am never sitting on a gambar. lol nursing student?, was doing a double degree sis, but I’m not into nursing. I’m a commerce student You got yourself confused, I’m kind of suspicious Rahima, are you a single mother? Anywayz, your hymen is what makes you a virgin. But if you lose you hymen to a gambar (lolz) or a tampon...still you are virgin who has not had sexual intercourse. I just wondered what would happen in the bed. Anywayz, you don't have to be a doctor to know if someone is a virgin or not. It comes with experience. I’m sorry to offend anyone who has used tampons, or lost their virginity in doing other extreme activities but I just like to keep mine intact .

 , xishood about what? This is the women's section. Issues like this exist, and we are here to learn. Not to be soooo childish  and shy away from it. I remember reading this islamic book. It said not to shy away from these stuff and that we are human beings. Maybe you should pick up the quran and read. Just putting a light on a taboo subject. Maybe one sista, might benefit from me

I can’t believe this... Young Somali gurls are using tampons. I really don’t see the point. You guys might think that I am over the top with this, but walahi I am not. Embarrassing moment happen to me, the other day. I went with mum and these other ladies so they can visit this lady who gave birth. These ladies are yapping away. I was having stomach pains before we arrived their but I thought the stay would be short. I usually get a 30minute stomach-ache before I get my period. My mum and these ladies were looking like as if they were gonna stay over the night. I had to do something, so I asked where Xalima is. Xalima is a 17-year-old school gurl who is doing her final year. I told her that I’m getting my period and I need a pad, before you know it,,,,,she pulls this huge tampon out  . My stomach pain got worse, and my eyes nearly popped out. I told her, that I only use pads. I’m quick to say something critical but I didn’t want to embarrass her and put her on the spot and start lecturing her. I asked her, why she uses it, does it hurt, how long has she been using it, is it convenient and does her mother know? Thank god, her mother was menstruating. So I asked her to get me one of her mothers pad. But one question I was reluctant to ask her was: have u lost your virginity??? I didn’t know how appropriate that was. I mean those things are big, and you can easily rupture your hymen and bleed with ur menstrual blood and never know. Girls break their virginity by riding horses and doing extreme physical activity. One of my classmates told me she tore her hymen when she was doing ballet and that she felt it, and after that she saw the blood. But I don’t understand this. Why are these young gurls using tampons, do they not know the effects? I wonder will their husband notice it and wonder what she used get up to. So, many questions and no answers. I guess it’s this generation who started using it, we don’t know the effects it will have on their first sexual encounter with their husband should I say? I hope none of you gurls are using it, if you are then don’t cause you can get this nasty disease, and young gurls... It ain’t worth it. On the other hand, I forget to mention that one of my married friends uses it, well she hasn’t told me... When she told me to get dirac out of her bag...., I happen to see it. I don’t know if you are married, I think it seems okay. I know that when I first got my period my mum did forget to mention about tampons. In future that’s something I need to do. It would be interesting to hear from the sista’s and their take on this, as well as the brotha’s .

  22. oh, thanks! Thats so sweet Alle ubaahne. Liibaan, if you put ur dignity on the line for asking that, then petrol money is on me... once again. Naku, oh! These ppl are so annoying. When ppl ask me that i simply tell them the truth: When i finish my studies, and they tell me how i'm such smart gurl for doing that . But when i finish my studies and i don't get married and they ask me that, then i'll say: only Allah knows.
