God bless LZG. A true friend and a voice of reason in what is otherwise a disorderly world.
  2. not looking too great i am afraid......

  4. can we have assurances that the money will go to those in need before pledging.

I too have problems understanding how old retards under threat from senile dementia epidemic, sweeping out of touch SOLers still manage to write at all, albeit it complete and utter bile. Why not age gracefully and stop picking fights with people in their prime NG.
  6. ^^^ You have just confirmed what we already suspected. Entering senile dementia is a worrying prospect.
  7. Originally posted by Nephthys: Khat is what drinking cheap beer is to [some] middle class people. I wonder if Marcus think that's "destroying the social fabric of the somali community" aswell. Completely Nephy. This social ill is also on the increase, especially in recent years. It seems those who drink have no inhibitions, which is completely alien to Somali culture. The increase in the number of Alcoholics also coincides with the rapid influx of secondary European Somali migrants.
  8. i have no intention of ever leaving the UK. I went to Somaliland in 2004 and it was the worst experience of my life. I might move to Nepal in 2010 inshallah. But never to the Somali sub-continent.
  9. It seems quite obvious from the utter and complete bile that has been written that many of you have not grasped and comprehended the idea that I proposed.

Thats not culture! thats bigotry infused with drug abuse. I dont understand how some individuals can claim that Khat is part of our culture. I believe its a sub-culture responsible for destroying the social fabric of the somali community. However if done in the right settings, its tolerable. for the record, i do not condone Khat usage whether done responsibly or not.
  11. Originally posted by NGONGE: You and Marc talk about class as if it is a concept you just invented. It is not about owning houses, going to the theatre or earning a certain amount of money. It is about values, conduct, level of education and much much more. The Old man has spoken and has clearly stated his views. While i agree with you on a number of attributes like values, level of education etc. The notion of being middle class also entails a process of cultural consumption. One must display this through a wide range of activities including going to museums and attending the theatre occassionally.
  12. ...''In the UK i was earning good money... i was getting £1500 per month... [i worked for Honda as a supervisor]''..... ^ Pathetic! I have never seen a warlord as ambitious as that in my life.
  13. Originally posted by Afromantic GirL: Juwairiah you will be the next victims of cyber terrorism, i will spread the word now who am i talking to? A Great Big Pile Of MARC ... PLEASE BRING BACK ur VIDEOZ! Despite your calls to sink me to your lowly level Afropuff, one will not succumb to such lame attempts to deface thy honour.
  14. Originally posted by Geel_jire: personally I would never go to a theater or a museum .... a khat orgy sounds like more fun but hey different strokes .... different strokes No suprises there Geel. You talk about shaky grounds and yet conform to my typology. Go and overdose on your Khat orgy.
  15. I can asure you it wasnt me Afropuff. What type of activities do you indulge in apart from going to weddings. Then again, i presume living in Dixon allows you to do so much more than attending uninvited weddings.
  16. getting defensive are we campers!
  17. I presume the overwhelming majority of SOLers are considered by the conventional typology to be Middle Class. I have noticed the vast of you are graduates but the vast majority of Somali graduates are working in low paid and low status jobs. From this we can construe that there is no social mobility. Also from the conventional typology, being middle class entails a number of key attributes including: Cultural capital – participating in cultural activities such as going to the theatre or museums, but we know most SOLer graduates prefer nothing more than taking part in a Khat orgy, or in the case of the SOLer feminist camp going to Weddings and indulging in low budget and low status activities like going to the movies.
  18. NGONGE, Are you going because you have been reincarnated as Somali but was previously a Ugandan member of the Lords Resistance Army? Maybe you were the main man himself.
  19. ^^ Are you being ageist serenity? You make me sick. Go and spew your ageist bile elsewhere. I dont want to hear it.
  20. Serenity, whats happened to you. You were cool before but now your full of venom. I think your showing the first signs of senile dementia.
  21. why should we celebrate africa day. its africa day, all day every day. Sick and tired of certain individuals eurocentric views. I for one will most certainly not attend. Thanks for the info.
