    I believe that he should get a fair democratic. Just because they are related of some sort shouldnt eliminate his rites to reunion his people. People have diff out takes in life, a father and son can have two different view points..just as brothers or cousins. What Barre did in is time shouldnt have any effects on him but knowing somalians...they probably say no just cuz of the last name..but lets be realistic and not narrow-minded. Different people have different motivations so lets be respectful of that fact. I'm not saying neither of which i'm for him or against him until i see or feel what the rest of the leaders withhold.

    Lets keep our eyes and ears open, just because we are from the same tribe doesnt mean we should be voting for that particular person which i think is already happen in this post. Enuff said/ mad respect for the topix

    ATL i'm glad to see a young brotha noticing and distinguishing that men (not somalian only) need to take care of themselve in order to benefit his wife/kids. But dont generalize all the somalian brotha's cuz believe it or not i've seen my share goods of great guys who cook,actractive,respect and honor their wife's wish.And no one is perfect so get that out of you're head..but least you can do is just give it a try and try to reason your thoughts cuz not everyone will get the meaning you're sayin. Just like that song said..."you wanna wear the pant guess what.gotta be a men sur'e enuff."

    REASON: a person would go for a bad brotha/sistah is simply the thrill. (just caught up w/ the moment...and not thinking in the sense of "future".

    Of course, every once in awhile, people will slip up and go for someone that are definetly "bad news" but you know what...we all grow from that...and hopefully you will too finesistah...atleast you accomplished the first step ...REALIZING IT. Now just try and change your patterns and smell the coffee's.

    Scorpio_Sis i see clearly what you're trying to implicate but has the thought "faith & believin occured in your head"? There are somethings that are said and done....for example, no one can varify who wrote the qur'an, when it was written,how it got to us..how it survived all those thousand yrs. Questioning whether death by someone was meant had it be their time or not...that's something very difficult to answer and i believe a shiek would of said the same. Death is envitable..it will happen you want it to or not. I believe that just as it was said..we have the rite to choose the rite path and a wrong path...which ever you so choose in the future will not stay w/ you forever..there's always reminicin and change and allah is a great forgiver regardless. Secondly death was written for you in a book as you were born...whether a person was to murder you, car accident, elevator etc... Thirdly, bout punishing the person who murdered is and will remain in jail for their action. ( islamically speaking, killing of any kind is wrong intensionally of course..not self-protection). The reason why they are placed in jail is mainly (1) to teach those followers, of the consequences (2) so he wont do it again when and if he gets out. And just maybe by placing a crimal in jail just maybe someone can live. All we have is faith...believing and worshipping the all mighty. For instance, how did the qu'ran survive?...(sorry if i'm incorrect) but this is my opioion....that one of the prophets consumed knowledge from allah...brought it down to earth...and pass it along to their people. Generations after another...the written words got lost but ....there were elders, shieks, friends of prophets that remmeber his words, his encourgment to his people etc...and that's how it survived...by keeping faith.

    so eh..start the revolotion of believin....

    I'm a great fan of Maya Angelou, walaahi that spreads enuff wisdom that we're not even comprehending na'mean. Slavery and racism existed thru the great dawn of time and still continue...but yeah i agree w/ you exdane...it really doesnt matter the race nor the relgion or the status of the designer as long as they are spillin out tight ish. And you gotta also reason w/ ya self too...what are the chances that you are gonna see a muslim designer? Well i'm sure there is a great majority among us but are they noticable and or near where we can purchase em? I guess for all of you that are against it, like Shytem...start wearing maxamuuse and dirac's ... but i admire her intakes on certains..but this i'm have to far track before i can reach where she's coming from....but by far

    I would choose a close guy who in fact is fine simply cuz you guys been thru the ups and down's of your friendship..you learned from him how he is w/ girls..you try to perfect his game and he learn your techniques of how you operate. So since you knoe , you can 1. TRUST 2.RELATE/UNDERSTAND & 3.     Being a half nigerian and somalian can be tough i give that..espically knowing somalian mentilty such as BROTHA_MAN..but dont let that stop you. First off you need to distinguish wheather it's a preferrence you be w/ a somalian or a must? Secondly, from what i got from your post, you seem like you have your relgion mashallah...and that is a must. I've no cut clean bullet-proove of how to snitch a sistah but just be yourself, stand by allah's grace and guides & MOST OF ALL IGNORE THE HATERS..i'm sure you will find a female that is rite for you.     Instinct-Poet i agree. A lot of us are with taken the fact that "marrying our cousin" is taboo and it should be rite...then how come our tradition looks at it as a favour. Like if anything would to come up' it did be solved faster...having the same family tree and all. But what about the fact' that...they'll see each other around day in out after their lil divorce..families believe it or not will have some grudge against each other for instance if the brotha or sistah did the other extremely wrong.

     

    In connection, i think it should be based on what those two people think. If i WERE to' i'd know my family will be agaist but you gotta take incount not only what you feel and think is rite but yuor family and thats where all the ties come down to. Love is a great strength when all obsticales are workin by your side but if they aren't...like families against one another trust it will be hell..tryna solve situations afta situations na'mean...so in conclusion...i think you should do whats best for you....after reviewing all the different aspects of what can come out of it and what not...

    You said that "female" should dress appropiate for the sake of her child so they too dont repeat the same step. On that level i agree; but who said anything as to if it came down to that. Perhaps i should of made things even more clear; when i asked that question, i was making a referrence btw themselves w/ any involvment of any children.----I've seen my shares of brotha's who in the past screwed, played and beaten their girlfriends but after the age of 25 when they realize hey, i need someone not for love but for other reasons.

     

    That makes me sick to my stomach, you mean to tell me just because you changed atmosphere that your ish isnt going to follow you to your new environment? I'm just saying you 'GUYS' are tad bit harsh on your sistah's and when i say that i'm making any connections to the jeans issue. I believe we're more logical and understanding when it comes to you guys; for instances; when you "as in guys" have your pants hangin (fashion error); deal w/ drugs, play the game like a pro, have girls pregant, be male hoe, have a past etc. But when i sistah wearin a jeans pops up; that automically discourages you from steppin up..WHY? I'm not sayin we're understandin to everythin you do and espically when you pregant anotha girl or deal w/ drug but least we;re there for you as your friends, sistahs in a support system. So tell me exactly the problem apart from the relgion. Ohh culture okay, well we're 21st century and it about time that it dunned all of you that we cant possible be doing the same things our ancestories use to in the past..WHY ; new relvenlation! new day...but that doesnt mean we forgotten.

    sadly yes it did have to come to end'. We as females are just as same as male when one person has a friend of the opposite sex. I knoe friends were there for each other before you even met your true love but if you did want it to work; i suggest you tell you significant other that "hey this is my boi/girl and we were down for each other for yrs and i hope you can handle our friendship"...with that said, if you get anything negative from your "partner" that you aint feelin, approach it before it gets to more complex phase. And of course with time, if he said "hey i dont like you guys hangin out" the first couple of weeks,...no reasons why his views should change over yrs.

    I agree, its all about the challenge and trace and when its no longer there ****** disappeared! Its kinda sad walaahi but as a friend least you can do is be there for her and advise her to the best of your knowldge, just bring forth what you see as being "bad" if she were to stay with this new guy in comparision to the "other". But just because you disagree with her views, dont let that get in btw your friendship..maybe in time she will realize it.

    Che-Guevara you're rite, perhaps i need to elobrate tad bit when i said " i have a western world"... it was a referrence a friend of mind made; to which in his words said " i want a girl who is cultural,relgious and still have a modern western mentility as well as still have a firm grib on our roots. So from ther, i used myself for an example, emphasis on how withhold those traits being in a modern world...you followin along? So that's the only reason i brought it to context--and just to clearfy neva did i say "i only have a western mentility" if you read back to the start of this post.

    One more other thing; Che- i brought the relgion up because i know some farah would try and reverse things around...you can say just as per caution.
