  2. The Reality of Tawheed

Linguistically the word tawheed means unification (to make something one). However Islamically it is in reference to Allah being singled out alone, in all that is particular to him. The opposite of tawheed is 'Shirk' which is to associate partners with Allah by giving that which belongs to him, to others. [2]

Traditionally tawheed has been divided into three categories which help us to understand why Allah alone deserves to be singled out for worship. The division of tawheed into these three categories was something which was not done by the prophet of Allah (saws) or any of his companions. So is this something new that has been introduced into the religion (bida [3])? The answer to this is no, because we find that the basis of these three categories are to be found in the verses of the Qur'aan, hadeeth [authenticated reports] of the prophet (saws) and the statements of his companions.

The necessity for dividing up tawheed into three categories first came about during the early days of Islam. After the death of the prophet (saws) Islam spread like wildfire and before long the empires of Africa, Byzantium, Persia and India all fell under Muslim rule. Many people from these areas became Muslims. However some of these converts to Islam also carried with them some of their old pagan beliefs. This caused much confusion amongst people, and the simple belief of Islam which the people had accepted, started to become clouded. The task of opposing these new thoughts and ideas which were becoming prevalent, fell upon the shoulders of the Muslim scholars, who rose to meet this challenge intellectually. Amongst the first people to divide tawheed into three categories was the famous scholar of Iraq, Abu Haneefah. [4]

Before mentioning what these three categories are, it has to be stressed that the concept of tawheed is in no way similar to the Christian concept of trinity except the fact that they both begin with the letter 'T'!! The division of tawheed does not divide Allah up into three separate parts (as does trinity), but rather it helps us to understand as to how our Creator is unique and alone in being singled out for worship and reverence. Unfortunately there are some Christians today[5] who seem to forget this fact and continue to spread lies about the meaning of the tawheed of Allah.

    The Unity of Allah's Lordship

This first category of tawheed is known as tawheed-ur Ruboobeeyah or the unity of Allah's lordship. Through this we understand that it is Allah who alone created the universe which is why one of his divine names is AlKhaliq (the Creator). Through this we know that it is Allah alone who controls the universe and allows things to happen. This is why Allah refers to himself in the Qur'aan as AI-Malik (The Owner of the universe). Hence when something happens, it only happens with the permission of Allah:

"And no calamity strikes except with the permission of Allah"

    (Surah At-Taghabun 64:11)

The prophet Muhammed (saws) further elaborated on this concept of Allah's control over the universe by saying: "Be aware that if the whole of mankind gathered together in order to do something to help you they would only be able to do something for you which Allah had already written for you. Likewise, if the whole of mankind gathered together to harm you, they would only be able to do something to harm you which Allah had already written to happen to you". [7]

We know that another name, which Allah chooses to call himself by, is Ar-Razzaq (the Sustainer). It is Allah who provides us with our food, shelter, clothing, families and friends. When our crops seem to be dying and there is not a cloud in sight, it is Allah who sends down His rain from the skies and sustains us.

"Allah created all things and He is the agent upon which all things depend"

    (Surah Az-Zumar 39:62)

From this you would expect that people would turn back to Allah for good or bad fortune. However this is not the case. Today we find people relying on all kinds of good luck charms[9], which they believe will bring them good fortune and ward off evil.

Unfortunately, this selfish act of turning away from the favours of Allah has hit the Muslims hard, we find in many of our societies that the Muslims believe in all kinds of superstitions and good luck charms such as the Tawees (amulet). These practices have absolutely no basis whatsoever in Islam, but rather the prophet (saws) warned us by saying: "Whosoever brings something new into Islam, something which does not belong to it, will have it rejected".[10]

The Unity of Allah's names and Attributes

This category of tawheed is known as Tawheed-al-Asma Wa-Siffaat or the unity of Allah's name and attributes. Allah says in the Qur'aan:

"Allah there is no god but be. To Him belong the most beautiful names"

    (Surah Ta-Ha 20:8)

This category of tawheed helps us to understand who our Creator is through His Names and Attributes. Through His Names and Attributes we know that Allah is far beyond our imagination and bears no resemblance to human beings. In fact it is this principle which makes Islam unique from all the other religions on the face of this earth. Allah says in the Qur'aan:

"There is nothing like Him and He hears and sees all things"

    (Surah Ash-Shura 42:11)

It is in this verse that a distinction is made between those who truly worship their Creator and those who worship the creation. The most prominent example of this is that of the Christians. They claim that Jesus (as) was God, this negates the Tawheed of Allah's Names and Attributes because it degrades the Creator (whom the Christians say was Jesus) to the level of human beings and gives Him those weaknesses which humans possess. It is known from the bible that Jesus ate, drank, felt tired, slept and did all the things which normal humans do. So how is it right for the Christians to say that god lowered himself to the level of humans? As Muslims we say 'Allah is above such imperfection' (subhanallah) and rather it is us weak humans who need to turn to this perfect lord and Creator.

    The Unity of Allah's Worship

This part of tawheed is known as tawheed-al-eebadah or the unity of Allah's worship. It is this aspect of tawheed which it could be said is the most important. It is through this that we learn how to worship our Creator alone. Allah is not the kind of god who does not respond or hear your calls. He is not the kind of god who needs some sort of middleman to take our prayers up to Him. Rather Allah says:

"And your lord said: Call on me and I will answer you"

    (Surah Ghafir 40:60)

There is nothing to prevent a person from calling directly upon Allah and asking for His help and forgiveness. Unfortunately this is violated by most of mankind who believe that other men can intercede for them and even grant them forgiveness because of their apparent special status! An example of this is the Catholic religion which holds that the celibate priests are more purer then normal people. This allows for them to then hear the confessions of people's sins and subsequently grant them forgiveness. It is this kind of behaviour which takes a person away from the worship of Allah to the worship of man.

As Muslims we too should be careful of this, because it seems that many of our brothers and sisters are indulging in this kind of evil and are not even aware of it. How many Muslims are there today who call upon others besides Allah? We find that in countries such as Pakistan and India there are millions of Muslims who go to the graves of 'saints' and ask them for children, wealth, fame and more sadly, forgiveness. What makes this more ironic is the fact that many of these Muslims pray five times a day, and in every rakat (unit) of their prayer they say the following to their Creator:

"You alone do we worship and You alone do we seek help from"

    (Surah Al-Fatiha 1:4)

Learning about the tawheed of Allah is the most important thing for the whole of humanity. For if we learn how to trust and worship our Creator with sincerity, then -and only then- will we escape from the slavery and captivity of this life. By worshipping Allah alone does a man achieve true peace and success. This is the reason why when the adhaan[15] is called, the muezzin[16] says "Haya alal Falaa" (come to success). And we ask Allah to make us amongst those who go to this success. Ameen

  3. The Meaning of Soofism

The origin of the word and its derivation:

There are many opinions regarding the origin of this word.

They may be summarized as follows:

1-Some Soofis like to link the name to Ahlus-Sufaah (people of As-Suffah) who were at the time of the Prophet (saw). They

claim that there are great resemblances between the Soofee adept and Ahlu-Suffa. Those were poor people from the

Muhaajireen who migrated from Makkah to al-Madeenah fleeing the persecution of the pagan Arabs. They were driven away from their homes and had neither money nor families, nor a place to stay. The Prophet and the companions assisted them and he allowed them to

stay in a courtyard by his Mosque. The fact, however, is that those poor Muslims resorted to the Mosque out of necessity.

Their numbers increased at certain times and decreased at other times. Some of them stayed longer than others. So they were not a specific group united on something. Soofism in its

early stages stressed the concepts of detachment from the worldly life, poverty, isolation, etc. The people of As-Suffah did not choose such concepts. They were in need and the

Muslims helped them. They did not isolate themselves. In fact, they engaged in Jihaad whenever it was announced.

When Allaah, the Most High, bestowed from His bounties upon the Muslims, some of them became free of want and were among the richest of the Sahaabah and others became leaders in some Muslim lands. The Soofis would like to

establish a linkage with the Prophet’s era and claim as well that he (saw) approved the early seed of Soofism exemplified in Ahlus-Suffah. In addition, and from a linguistic point of

view, to derive Soofism from As-Suffah is wrong, because the correct term would be Suffism and not Soofism.

    2-As-Saf al-Awwal : Some Soofis claim that

Soofism comes from As-Saff al-Awwal (First Row)

“standing before the Hands of Allaah, the Most Mighty and Most Majestic, by virtue of the high determination and eagerness towards Allaah in their hearts and by positioning

their innermost before Him.†This term is far from being linguistically applicable for if it were so, the term would be

    Saffee

3-As-Safaa’ Other Soofis claim that the term is

derived from As-Safaa’ which means clearness, purity, sincerity. This is disputed by other Soofis and linguistically it does not fit. The derived term would be Safwee, Safaawee

    or Safaa’iee not Soofee.

4-Soofah : It is said that their title is derived from ‘Soofah,†the name of some people who used to serve the Ka’bah in the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah), and who used to

go in seclusion in the Sanctified Mosque (Al-Masjid Al Haraam).2 Although this affiliation may be linguistically sound, it is rejected because:

    (a) The people of “Soofah†were not known well enough

to be remembered by most of the early Soofis.

    (b) Had this affiliation been correct, it would have been

known in the times of the Sahaabah. However, such

an affiliation was not known then.

© True devout worshippers do not accept to be affiliated

with a tribe from the Jaahiliyyah times.3

5-Sophia : The historian and philosopher Abu

Rayhaan Al-Bayrooni (d.440 AH) mentioned that the word “Soofism†springs from the Greek term “Sophia†meaning wisdom. The Greek were the first to speak of the concept of

Wahdat Al-Wujood (Unity of Existence: that all existence is a single reality which is Allaah, and that everything we see is one aspect of Allaah’s Essence). Though one cannot

confirm nor deny the authenticity of this derivation, it is certain that Soofism during its course of development was

highly influenced by the Greek and Hindu philosophies.

6-As-Soof: Many Soofis from the past and present

consider that the term Soofism refers to the wearing of woolen clothing (Soof). This is also the opinion of Shaykhul- Islam Ibn Taymeeyah. Also Ibn Khaldoon inclined to this

opinion in his famous Muqaddimah. Many orientalists are also of this view. Although this is the most common opinion

regarding the derivation of the term, it is disputed by some Soofis like Al-Qushayree (d.465 AH) who claimed that the

Soofis were not specialized in wearing woolen clothes.4

Nevertheless, the desire by many Soofis to affiliate their name with this origin explains their exaggeration in matters of worship, detachment from the worldly life, abandoning

lawful means of earning, property, children, etc. On the other hand, wearing woolen clothes is not something meriteous or raises the status of the Muslim with Allaah.

Had it been so, the Prophet (saw) would have preferred it to other clothes. In fact, he (saw) disliked the odor of the wool

upon sweating as related by ‘Aa’isha (ra). She said:

“I made a black cloak for the Prophet (saw) and he put it on; but when he

sweated in it he noticed the odor of the wool, he threw it away. The

narrator said: I think he said: he liked good smell.â€5

And in the agreed upon Hadeeth related by Anas (ra), he (saw) said:

“The most beloved garment to the Prophet _ to wear was the Hibara (a

kind of Yemenese cloth made of cotton used to be from the best to

    wear).â€6

7-The term is not derived: This opinion is held by some important figures in Soofism like al-Qushayriee and al- Hajooyari (d.456 AH). They say it is just a given title. Such

a claim is a strange and very weak one, because none of titles adopted by any sect lacks a meaning associated with it.

These were the most important sayings regarding the origin of the word “Soofismâ€. Such differences regarding this term

is due to the mystic nature that folds Soofism in esoteric concepts which is open to all kinds of interpretations Any Soofee master could add his own methodology and concepts based upon his own experiences (Thawq). This rendered

Soofism limitless in terms of its doctrines and ways. The case is even worse when it comes to the meaning of ‘Soofism.†One of the leading Soofee contemporary figures,

Dr. ‘Abdul Hameed Mahmoud said: “The opinion regarding the meaning of it [At-Tasawwuf] did not yet reach a conclusive result.â€7

As-Siraaj At-Tusi (d. 378 AH) mentioned that the definition of Soofism exceeds a hundred, while As-Sahrawardee (d.632 AH) related that the saying of the Soofee shaykhs about

the meaning of Tasawwuf exceeds one thousand. One of the latter Soofis by the name of Ibn ‘Ajeebah (d. 1224 AH)

related that shaykh Zarrooq (d. 889 AH) mentioned that it reached about two thousand definitions. The definitions describe Soofism as being linked to concepts and practices as

well. They range from poverty, perseverance, seclusion, withdrawal from the world, secrecy, deception, depriving

the soul, wondering, singing, dancing, wearing wool clothes, ecstasy, inward transformation, spiritual development, all

the way to Wahdat Al-Wujood8 In fact, careful study of its history and of its men, brings one to the same conclusion that there is no specific and comprehensive meaning of

Soofism. Despite this, it can be easily said that it represents an accommodation of beliefs, experiences (highly stressed),

philosophies, and methodologies of varied degrees of divergence from the Qur’aan, authentic Sunnah, and the way of the Salaf. Largely comprised within such accommodation

are certain fundamental matters that shape Soofism, mainly:

1-Limitless figurative interpretation of the texts and/or

    the sayings of their masters.

2-Classifying the Deen into Thaahir (Sharee’ah)

applicable to the common Muslims and Baatin (Hidden)

known only to the Masters and mystics.

3-Accommodation of any deviation in matters of creed,

worship, or morals. The extreme Soofis accommodate all

creeds and all sorts of innovations.

4-The deviated relationship between the Master and the

    disciple.

5-The state of Kashf claimed by Masters in the Soofee

orders in which they perceive and witness all of the

realities of existence as well as those of the Ghayb

    (unperceived realities).

6- Emphasizing Manaamaat (dreams), fabricated stories

and/or ahaadeeth, as well as Shatahaat (intense and wild

emotional state of excitement and agitation arising form

what they call sudden Divine touches and during which

the mystic utters unlawful innovated and mystic words,

hallucinations and in many cases plain Kufr). Yet they

say their utterances are due to the mystics being in a state

of spiritual intoxication, e.g. “Praise be to me

(subhaani),†and “Under my robe there is only god.

true hibo it is qayr and the prophet SAW said' if someone come to you and you are satisfied with his deen and character, then marry him otherwise a fitnah and great destruction will become rampant on earth' repoted by at.Tirmidhi.

so what i meant is one should not hurry until he is certain of the deen and character.

lol while waiting on the results of the investigation there will still be communication but as long as it is in halal way, surely simple chatting and giggling over the phone all nite which many people do will not be accepted.

there is a Hadith which says, that "a person may behave like the people of paradise until there is but an arm's length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him and so he behaves like the people of hell-fire and thus enters it." The same thing applies in reverse, ensuring heaven for a person who does good only at the last stage of his life, having been an evildoer for a very long time

  7. qoute brom hibo: Ukhti If the two people find each other attractive and they are old enough to get married as well as financial capable of undertaking sucj responsibilities......usually there is nothing to stop them from acting on it. But sometimes, the parents when they get involved they require background checks and all and that delays the marriage from taking place as quickly as desired. [/QB]

It is important for the family (wali) to find out about the background of the person their son or daughter is going to marry. And this is the responsibility of the wali if they had a sum of money they will seek out the information about the one who comes for a loan so what is the situation of their child who is going to give their life.

finding out the history of the one u want to marry is an important matter a great matter, a months of effort and investigation does not compare to life time.

Therefore one must be sure with certainty about the deen of the person and this can take time so one should not hurry in to it since to hurry into something is from shaitan.

  8. from hibo. but I do believe in Islam a man and a woman whose intention is to marry are allowed to talk and see each other given that a third person is there.

that is right hibo if their intension is to marry they are allowed to have a chaperoned meeting, this meeting will give them the chance to see whether they are attracted to each other and they will have the chance to discuss things and ask any questions that they may have.

but muslims are always advised not to have many meetings becouse according to islamic law the two people are still not lawful for each other and are not allowed to spend social time toghter and be alone toghter.

i personal thing the more you meet someone who you are intrested in the more you start having emotional response to the person, and this emotional feeling can have a way of painting pictures of fantasies and creating illusions. becouse the man or women you fall in love or lust with is not always the most honest, trustworthy, kind, generouse and resposible one and is not necessarily good marriege material. so by keeping the meeting to a minimum one is able to asses the person in sane and rational way and can cleary see the good point and bad point and hence can make a sensible choice.

  9. What does Islam say about having Boyfriends or Girlfriends?

Islam strictly forbids us to have any kind of relationship with a

Non-Mehram ( people you can get married to). Whether it’s just a

friendship relationship or love relationship or even fiancé

    relationship.

Before Nikkah, no contacts should be indulged between a man and a

woman. Cause; remember when two people are alone (a boy and a girl)

the third person there is the Satan (Evil), who always encourages

you to commit sins and as a result it leads to Jina/Fornication.

And as Muslims we must be knowing that Fornication or Adultery, (sex

outside marriage) is Haram in Islam. It is considered to be one of

    the major sins.

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, are we so pious that we can

afford to carry these sins with us to the Hereafter? If you ask me,

I’ll have to say no, because I know that, the weight of my sins are

way heavier then my rewards, so therefore I can’t afford to commit

those sins, and I am sure neither can you.

Many of us claim that they are not doing anything wrong, just by

talking on the phone or chatting on MSN, writing mail or e-mailing,

with their boyfriends or girlfriends. But we have to realize that,

it is still wrong to do that, because we are still in contact with

a non-mehram, which is again strictly prohibited in Islam.

And some others say that it’s ok if they talk to their fiancé or

future husband/wife, but what is the guarantee that, this person

will end up being your life partner? Then why, waste our jewels or

    modesty, unnecessarily?

Allah Tallah has mentioned it to us that, “the jina of the ear is

what you hear, the jina of the tongue is what you say, the jina of

the mind is what you think, the jina of the hand is what you touch,

and the jina of the eye is what you seeâ€. Is it still not clear

enough that by any sorts of contact we are still committing sins?

By saying “I love you†to any boy/girl, we are committing the jina

of our tongue, by hearing something like that from someone, we are

committing the jina of our ear, and so on.

So therefore, dear brothers and sisters, its time we wake up and

open up our hearts and ears and turn back to Allah’s command. We

can’t allow the devil to take over us. The person we sacrifices for

the sake of Allah, surely Allah will grant them happiness.

    This is especially for Women:

Allah Talla has given us (the women) the best jewel we could have,

and that gets lost when we expose it in front of other men. The

women’s bodies are like the rose petals and if touched or seened to

much over and over again, it will loss its lustre. Would any of us

keep our diamonds displayed in public? Then, why is it that we are

    displaying our bodies to others.

We have to remember that, whatever Allah Talla commanded us to do

that is what is best for us.

AND LET ME REMIND U AGAIN CLEARLY THAT ……..

    Kissing, not allowed in Islam

    Huging, not allowed in Islam

Talking on the phone with non-mehram, not allowed in Islam

Writing mail,…. still not allowed in Islam

NOW IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE POINT IS PRETTY CLEAR DON’T U THINK???

And remember to do Istikhara Salah before you decide to marry

anyone, cuz Allah is All-Knowing, and He knows what we know not.

Like a person by their Iman, not by how they look, or what they have

    or what they are.

This is a very simple test, you will FOrWaRd this message around, if

you are a true believer and if you care for others.

May Allah Talla give us the ability to stay away from these evil

acts and bless us with His Mercy and guide us on the right path.

    Ameen.

  10. The goods things about wearing hijab

    1. In the west while women are expected to conform to the fashion which is often shaped by men hence becoming slave of the society and men. The hijab librates the women from this slavery and takes them out from the obedience to men, to the obedience of Allah.

    2. It unites the heart of many people it has no nationality, colour or race.

    3. It shields the women from the desires of man.

    4. It provides an honour for the women.

    5. While worthless clothes like Versace or Armani are designed by mortals, the hijab comes from the one who is immortal ALLAH.

Almost everything in the world which is beautifully and Allah loves is hidden, diamonds is found deep in the ground hidden beneath a layer of hydrogen and helium gases. Pearls are found in the depths of the ocean within the protection of shells. Gold is found under many rocks and it takes a lot of hard work to get it.

The bodies of women are much more sacred than diamonds, pearls, or gold!

  11. Al-Hamdu-Lillaahi Rabbil-'Aalameen was-Salaatu was-Salaamu 'alaa Ashrafil-Anbiyaa.e wal-Mursaleen, wa ba'd:

    As-Salaamu alaykum wa Rahmatullaah

Just to share my knowledge of who are the true scholars without any connection to dr badawi since I am not in the position to criticize him.

    • The Muslim scholars are those who fear Allah and know how to fear Allah.

    • They are those who know all that Allah loves and all that Allah hates so they stay away from all that he hates.

    • They are those who desire the quran and the Sunnah of the prophet SAW in its purest form.

    • They are those who know the sharee’a, those who understand the deen of allah and practice what they know upon baseera (inside understanding) and huda (guidance).

    • They are the one who Allah has given wisdom and ability to act and speak in the correct way.

    • The scholars are those who have patient, hikma, certainty and their feet are firm on the ground when fitnah arises. You will know them by their jihad, their jihad of writing and bringing the haqq to the ummah, You will know them by their fear of Allah and their truthful tongue.

    • Furthermore they are those who relay upon the text of the quran and the sunnah and they act upon them in their life. They take what allah and the prophet SAW give them and leaves what he tells them to leave.

    • They are people who have complete cling to the methodology of the messengers and the prophet in their dawa and they adore themselves with their ikhlaq they don’t have hidden grouping or gathering to certain individuals everything they have is open.

Again this is just to share my knowledge of who the true scholars are, since I believe this something very important, it was narrated in a hadeeth by bukahari that a time will come when those who speak are many and the scholars are very little. (Am trying to find the full text for this hadeeth inshallah)

May allah forgive me for any thing incorrect that I may have said.

Who ever allah wants good for he gives them knowledge, may allah subhanalalah wata’ala increase us all in knowledge of the deen.

  12. The Security Service MI5 and MI6

These agents have no power of arrest and you do not have to speak with

    them.

    Special Branch and The Police

Arrests and searches are carried out by constables. All police officers

are constables and can arrest any person they suspect may have been

    involved in a crime.

What to do if you are approached by the security and intelligence

    services

If you have not been arrested

    1. Do not panic. Do not run or be rude.

    2. Ask if you are being arrested. If not ask if you are free to leave.

    3. Inform the officer you are happy to co-operate with them but only

    through your solicitor.

    4. Request the officers Name, Rank and telephone number -

    5. Provide them with your solicitors name and telephone number.

    If you have been arrested

    1. You should give your name, DOB and address to police. Do not answer

questions beyond your name, DOB and address without your lawyer because

even comments that do not have any legal significance can be used to

'profile the Party'. Please be aware, the police are trained to be

'nice', some may even claim they are supportive of your cause! This is

    to get you to speak.

    2. Contact McCormacks Solicitors immediately and ask to speak to Tayab

Ali on 020 7791 2000 for further immediate advice. If McCormacks are not

available use the duty solicitor. Legal advice can only be withheld for

a maximum of 48 hours. So be patient. ALWAYS CONTACT A LAWYER.

    3. Make sure your family are aware of what to do if you are detained or

'disappear'. It is a good idea that a member of your family knows the

details of your solicitor and a contact of the shabab so that they can

inform them in case of an emergency.

    4. if we come across any case where a shab has been arrested or

detained, PLEASE offer support to the family and visit them. They are

not under any obligation to speak to police informally and really should

avoid doing so, as the police can behave irrationally in this tence

    time.

Below you can see in details how to

deal with searches under the Terrorism Act 2000.

Terrorism Act - Section 44: Police Searches Your rights

    DURING SECTION 44 SEARCHES

    * The police can only give you a pat down, remove outer clothes

(eg jacket, hat), search your bags and have you empty your pockets

    * You do not have to give your name and address

    * You do not have to explain why you are there

    * You are not allowed to flee the search, but you are not required

to be actively compliant. You are allowed to 'go limp' as passive

resistance during the search if you wish not to comply

    * There is no permission to collect DNA data during the search

    * You do not have to comply with any attempt to photograph or

    record you

    * Women cannot be touched by male police during these searches

    * Make notes about the officers searching you - name, number and

    police force

    * Note the time and the events preceding the search

    * Note the specific wording used by the police to explain their

    authority to search you

    * Ask the police for the reason that they are searching you.

Specifically, are they searching for terrorists or are they simply

trying to deter, delay or inconvenience you?

    AFTER SECTION 44 SEARCHES

    * Hold on to the Search Record or any other documentation the

police give you (or note if you don't receive one).

    * Make brief notes about the search while you still remember all

    the details

    * Do not write anything down on the day that you don't want

disclosed to the police. Police may search you again and be able to read

anything that you have written down

MAY ALLAH GIVE SABR TO ALL OUR BELOVED BROTHERS & SISTERS WHO WILL OR HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS AAMEEN.

  13. "Dr Badawi said the hijab should not be worn if it invited attacks"

What happens if you get attack even after taking the hijab off and you die as a consequence of the attack? Would you rather die as a believer wearing the hijab? Or as someone who has abandoned what Allah SWA has told us in his quran?

Leaving the hijab due to fear of the kufars is a sign of weakness. Whether you wear the hijab or not or whether you have a beard and a kameeze or not we should be aware of the fact that whatever happens to us could not miss us and whatever missed us could not have happened to us.

Let’s just take as an example the Brazilian man who got shot, was he a Muslim? Did he have a beard? Did he have a kameez or was his trousers above his ankle? Certainly not and yet they thought he was one of the bombers.

  14. Our Last Hour

    Abu Saifillaah Abdul Qaadir

    Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem

    Our Last Hour

All of us are familiar with the signs of the day of Judgement. They are mentioned in the Qur’an and many ahadeeth.

However there is another Hour that is on an individual level and it is just as important. This Hour is so important that we must be aware of it.

This Hour I am talking about is described in the hadeeth of Bukhari & Muslim:

“If this boy lives, by the time he is old and decrepit, your hour would have already taken place.â€

This is the Hour which each and every individual will experience. It will be a deciding time for us, as our actions will have come to an end. This in fact is our Hour and it is inevitable, that every soul shall taste it. Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) says:

“Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing). [Aal-Imran (3):185]

After this day my brothers our deeds will come to an end – we can only then look forward to our reckoning. So the question we must ask ourselves before it is too late is: “What have we prepared for our Hour?â€

Is it Imaan, a good deed, or disbelief and corruption we have sent forth?

And the beauties of this life that we have achieved may it be a large house, latest cars, fitted out our kitchens, bought the best sofas or beds, thought for these worldy things – we will find that we give too much of our time or “Hours†to this in comparement to doing good deeds for our next life.

How much time do we give to reading ahadeeth and Verses of the Qur’an like the following:

“When an infidel is about to leave the world and proceed to the next, Angels with black harsh faces come down to him from the Heaven with haircloth of fire and sit away from him as far as an eye can see. The Angel of death comes and sits at his head and says: “O wicked soul, come out to the displeasure from Allah.†The soul becomes dissipated in the body, and the Angel of Death draws it out as violently as a spit is drawn out from moistened wool. He then seizes it, and when he does so, the other Angels do not leave the disbelieving soul in his hand for an instant, but put it in that hair-cloth and from it comes forth a smell like the most offensive corpse found on the Earth.†[Ahmad, Abu Dawood & Haakim]

    Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) says:

“And if you could see when the angels take away the souls of those who disbelieve (at death), they smite their faces and their backs, (saying): "Taste the punishment of the blazing Fire." This is because of that which your hands had forwarded. And verily, Allâh is not unjust to His slaves." [Anfal (8):50-51]

Allah comes with the angels in ranks, 70.000 – so fear Him. Who believes in this truly give your dole cheques or wages. ….such a horrible end – we not peace and contentment when turning to your creator. Perhaps it is because they carried the wrong belelif, having doubts about Allah in truth.

So my dear brothers do not be of those who delay repentance for their evil wicked deeds. Hasten to repentance before you face the hour after which your repentance will not be accepted.

    As the hadeeth states:

“Allah will accept the repentance until the death rattle startsâ€

Really my dear brothers, I urge you to be of those who are described in this ayat:

“Verily, those who say: "Our Lord is Allâh (Alone)," and then they Istaqâmû, on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): "Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!†We have been your friends in the life of this world and are (so) in the Hereafter. Therein you shall have (all) that your inner-selves desire, and therein you shall have (all) for which you ask for. An entertainment from (Allâh), the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [Fussilat (41):30-32]

  15. asalamu alycum

Salaxuddiin have you listened to this maxadero that you have posted.

Al Walaa Wal Baraa - Sh. Mahamed Cabdi Umal

i did not listen to all of it but from what i have listned to, the sheikh said we should inform the kufars that we hate them and that they are our enemies. He also said we should not be kind and we should be inconsiderate to them.

What does he mean by this or have I misunderstood?

  16. Why She Won’t Wear Hijab!

    a discussion by A.Q. Alidost

    “I’m so tiredâ€

    “Tired of what?â€

“Of all these people judging me.â€

    “Who judged you?â€

“Like that woman, every time I sit with her, she tells me to wear hijab.â€

“Oh, hijab and music! The mother of all topics!â€

“Yeah! I listen to music without hijab…haha!â€

“Maybe she was just giving you advice.â€

“I don’t need her advice. I know my religion. Can‘t she mind her own business?â€

“Maybe you misunderstood. She was just being nice.â€

“Keeping out of my business, that would be nice...â€

“But it’s her duty to encourage you do to good.â€

“Trust me. That was no encouragement. And what do you mean ‘good‘ ?â€

“Well, wearing hijab, that would be a good thing to do.â€

    “Says who?â€

    “It’s in the Qur’an, isn’t it?â€

“Yes. She did quote me something.â€

“She said Surah Nur, and other places of the Qur’an.â€

“Yes, but it’s not a big sin anyway. Helping people and praying is more important.â€

“True. But big things start with small things.â€

“That’s a good point, but what you wear is not important. What’s important is to have a good healthy heart.â€

“What you wear is not important?â€

    “That’s what I said.â€

“Then why do you spend an hour every morning fixing up?â€

    “What do you mean?â€

“You spend money on cosmetics, not to mention all the time you spend on fixing your hair and low-carb dieting.â€

    “So?â€

    “So, your appearance IS important.â€

“No. I said wearing hijab is not an important thing in religion.â€

“If it’s not an important thing in religion, why is it mentioned in the Holy Qur’an?â€

    “You know I can’t follow all that’s in Qur’an.â€

“You mean God tells you something to do, you disobey and then it’s OK?â€

    “Yes. God is forgiving.â€

“God is forgiving to those who repent and do not repeat their mistakes.â€

    “Says who?â€

“Says the same book that tells you to cover.â€

“But I don’t like hijab, it limits my freedom.â€

“But the lotions, lipsticks, mascara and other cosmetics set you free?! What‘s your definition of freedom anyway?â€

“Freedom is in doing whatever you like to do.â€

“No. Freedom is in doing the right thing, not in doing whatever we wish to do.â€

“Look! I’ve seen so many people who don’t wear hijab and are nice people, and so many who wear hijab and are bad people.â€

“So what? There are people who are nice to you but are alcoholic. Should we all be alcoholics? You made a ****** point.â€

“I don’t want to be an extremist or a fanatic. I’m OK the way I am without hijab.â€

“Then you are a secular fanatic. An extremist in disobeying God.â€

“You don’t get it, if I wear hijab, who would marry me?!â€

“So all these people with hijab never get married?!â€

“Okay! What if I get married and my husband doesn’t like it? And wants me to remove it?â€

“What if your husband wants you to go out with him on a bank robbery?!â€

    “That’s irrelevant, bank robbery is a crime.â€

“Disobeying your Creator is not a crime?â€

“But then who would hire me?â€

“A company that respects people for who they are.â€

    “Not after 9-11â€

“Yes. After 9-11. Don’t you know about Hanan who just got into med school? And the other one, what was her name, the girl who always wore a white hijab…ummm…“

    “Yasmeen?â€

“Yes. Yasmeen. She just finished her MBA and is now interning for GE.â€

“Why do you reduce religion to a piece of cloth anyway?â€

“Why do you reduce womanhood to high heals and lipstick colors?â€

    “You didn’t answer my question.â€

“In fact, I did. Hijab is not just a piece of cloth. It is obeying God in a difficult environment. It is courage, faith in action, and true womanhood. But your short sleeves, tight pants…â€

“That’s called ‘fashion‘, you live in a cave or something? First of all, hijab was founded by men who wanted to control women.â€

“Really? I did not know men could control women by hijab.â€

    “Yes. That’s what it is.â€

“What about the women who fight their husbands to wear hijab? And women in France who are forced to remove their hijab by men? What do you say about that?â€

    “Well, that’s different.â€

“What difference? The woman who asked you to wear hijab…she was a woman, right?â€

    “Right, but…â€

“But fashions that are designed and promoted by male-dominated corporations, set you free? Men have no control on exposing women and using them as a commodity?! Give me a break!â€

“Wait, let me finish, I was saying…â€

“Saying what? You think that men control women by hijab?â€

    “Yes.â€

    “Specifically how?â€

“By telling women how and what to wear, dummy!â€

“Doesn’t TV, magazines and movies tell you what to wear, and how to be ‘attractive’?â€

    “Of course, it’s fashion.â€

“Isn’t that control? Pressuring you to wear what they want you to wear?â€

    Silence

“Not just controlling you, but also controlling the market.â€

    “What do you mean?â€

“I mean, you are told to look skinny and anorexic like that woman on the cover of the magazine, by men who design those magazines and sell those products.â€

“I don’t get it. What does hijab have to do with products.â€

“It has everything to do with that. Don’t you see? Hijab is a threat to consumerism, women who spend billions of dollars to look skinny and live by standards of fashion designed by men…and then here is Islam, saying trash all that nonsense and focus on your soul, not on your looks, and do not worry what men think of your looks.â€

    “Like I don’t have to buy hijab? Isn’t hijab a product?â€

“Yes, it is. It is a product that sets you free from male-dominated consumerism.â€

“Stop lecturing me! I WILL NOT WEAR HIJAB! It is awkward, outdated, and totally not suitable for this society ... Moreover, I am only 20 and too young to wear hijab!â€

“Fine. Say that to your Lord, when you face Him on Judgment Day.â€

    “Fine.â€

    “Fine.â€

    Silence

“Shut up and I don’t want to hear more about hijab niqab schmijab Punjab !â€

    Silence.

She stared at the mirror, tired of arguing with herself all this time. Successful enough, she managed to shut the voices in her head, with her own opinions triumphant in victory on the matter, and a final modern decision accepted by the society, rejected by the Faith: Yes to curls on the hair, no to hijab.

“And he(/she) is indeed a failure who corrupts it [the soul]!†Holy Qur’an, 91/10

    Subhana'Allah!!!

  17. Sayings of the Ulamaa' Regarding Ruling by Other than What Allaah has Revealed and the Two Types of Kufr

Allaamah Ibn al-Qayyim (d. 751H) said: "And it is correct that judging by other than what Allaah has revealed is both types of kufr (disbelief) - kufr asghar (the minor disbelief) and kufr akbar (the major disbelief) - and [which of the two it is] depends on the condition of the ruler. If he believes in the obligation of judging by what Allaah has revealed in this situation but turned away from it - out of disobedience - and while acknowledging that he is deserving of punishment then this is kufr asghar. And if he believes that it is not obligatory and that he has a choice in the matter - along with his firm belief that it is the judgement of Allaah - then this is kufr akbar - and if was ignorant in the matter or made an error then he is one who errs (mukhtee’) and his ruling is as the same for those who err. [Madaarij us-Saalikeen 1/337]

Shaikh Abdur-Rahmaan as-Sa’dee (d. 1376H) said: "Judging by other than what Allaah has revealed is among the actions of the People of Disbelief - and it can also take one outside of the religion. And that is when he believes in its legality and its permissibility. And it can sometimes be one of the major sins and from the actions of disbelief - the one who is guilty of it will receive a heavy punishment - and He said: "And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed, then they are the wrongdoers (dhaalimoon)." Ibn Abbaas said: "Kufr less than kufr and dhulm less than dhulm and fisq less than fisq. It is dhulm akbar when it is declared permissible but it is a great sin when it is done without declaring it permissible." [Tayseer al-Kareem ar-Rahmaan 2/296-297]

Imaam Ibn al-Jawzee (d. 596H) said: "And the decisive speech in this regard is that whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed - while rejecting it [in belief] {jahahda) and he knows that it is Allaah who revealed it - as the Jews did - then he is a disbeliever. And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed - inclining to his desires without rejecting it [in belief] then he is a dhaalim, faasiq and it has been reported from Alee bin Abu Talhah from Ibn Abbaas that he said: "Whoever rejects (jahada) what Allaah has revealed then he has disbelieved, and whoever affirms it (aqarra bihi) but does not judge by it - then he is a dhaalim, a faasiq." [Zaad al-Maysir 2/366]

Shaikh Muhammad Ameen ash-Shanqeetee (d. 1393H) said: "Know that the liberating stance in this topic is that kufr, dhulm and fisq, all of them can be used in the legislation with the intent of ‘disobedience’ at one time and with the intent of ‘kufr that ejects from the religion another time’. And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed, turning away and contradicting the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) and nullifying the rulings (ahkaam) of Allaah, then his dhulm, fisq, and kufr - all of them are disbelief that eject from the religion. And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed, whilst believing that he is committing a forbidden action and doing a reprehensible action, then his kufr, dhulm and fisq does not eject him from the religion. [Adwaa al-Bayaan 2/104]

Imaam ibn Abee Izz al-Hanafee (d. 792H) said: "And there is a matter which it is necessary to comprehend well - that ruling by other than what Allaah has revealed can sometimes be kufr that ejects from the religion and sometimes a major or minor sin - or it can be ‘metaphorical kufr’ (kufran majaaziyyan) or ‘minor kufr’ - and this is in accordance with the state of the ruler. If he believes that ruling by other than what Allaah has revealed is not waajib and that he has a choice in the matter - or if he disdains/despises it - while having conviction that it is the rule of Allaah, then this is the major kufr. And if he believes in the obligation to rule by what Allaah has revealed and in this [particular] incident [he knows it to be the rule of Allaah] but he turns away from it - whilst acknowledging that he deserves punishment then he is a disobedient person and he is termed a disbeliever with the metaphorical type of kufr or the minor type of kufr. [sharh Aqeedat it-Tahaawiyyah p. 363]

And the Imaam and Mujaddid, Shaikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhaab (d. 1206H) said: "Know that those things which eject from the religion (nawaaqid) are then in number: …Whoever believes (i’taqada 0that a guidance other than that of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) is more perfect or that the judgement other than his is better - such as the one who gives preference to the hukm of the tawaagheet - then such a one is a disbeliever…" [Mu’allifaat Ash-Shaikh al-Imaam Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhaab - al-Qismul-Awwal]

Shaikh Abdul-Azeez bin Baaz said: "And whoever ruled by other than what Allaah has revealed then he will not be in other than one of four situations: "

    1. The one who says: ‘I rule by this because it is superior to the Sharee’ah of Islaam.’ Such a one is disbeliever in the sense of the major disbelief.

    2. The one who says: ‘I rule by this because it is like the Sharee’ah of Islaam, so ruling by it is permissible and ruling by the Sharee’ah is permissible’. Such a one is a disbeliever in the sense of the major disbelief.

    3. The one who says: ‘I rule by this and ruling by the Sharee’ah of Islaam is superior but ruling by other than what Allaah has revealed is permissible.’ Such a one is a disbeliever in the sense of major disbelief.

    4. The one who says: ‘I rule by this’ while he believes that ruling by other than what Allaah has revealed is not permissible and who says that ‘the Sharee’ah of Islaam is superior and it is not permissible to ruler by other than it’ but he is neglectful, or treats matters lightly, or does this action due to a reason which proceeds from his rulers, then he is a disbeliever in the sense of minor disbelief which does not eject from the religion - and it is considered one of the greatest of major sins." [Al-Hukmu bi-Ghairi Maa Anzalallaahu wa Usool ut-Takfeer p. 71/72]
