Damn i wanted some good news, all i got from you lot was it is a good idea, but a hopeless one! so far i have found 170 Somali organisations, my target is to ring 50 today i already feel like giving up. Mantra, loool. I tried that at uni as well, i got three people to join, 2dropped out and the other got married. Don't you dare give up, just keep annoying them, make it free if you have to, although £2 is a good as free!
  13. ^no he just wants a particular lady's age, but was too chicken to ask directly, so in the process he asked everyone in the hope that she too will tell Thats just my theory. Mantra Veg stand is doing well sis. Maybe you should pay it a visit
  14. I did not say it was right, what i said she exposed her self to certain unnecessary risks. Same way if you decide to walk on the road instead of the pavement, or a train track then you have to expect consequences. You lose the defence of why me! I could not care what her reasons she has, she went there willing with her eyes wide open, knowing that there are always some risks or space for abusive etc. Hence she choose to disregard them, and has no one to blame but herself, so why would I have sympathy for her  iyaad iiswaash
  15. ^No you are not! you were 21 2summers ago when i met you in the Market lool
  16. Why how old are you? i was born in 19 seventy cood cood kii
  17. Lily, they do add such beauty. Let me know what your project is Sly because i don't need to go all the way to Hargaisa to be a mother or a wife (did you not know there are men in England) Hunguri: I already do that, doing something does not mean you suddenly stop doing other things, it makes it my purpose in life? Khayr. I want my own source of income, so I can give as I please, help people in my own capacity, and doing something worthwhile. Further more my clan is too small and too poor for them to do anything for me (rather being the one from London I am sure they will be expecting me to help them!) Even worse how does being married stop someone from doing other things in life or getting a source of income. Personally I’m not comfortable being spoon fed by some dude, a clan or family. I have always worked for my own income since I was kid. Mc Xamar. Lool. Thanks but I should be okay (not sure about eating heelib geel though! Northern I read the book, it is her usual racist view points, and her pretending to be an expert in Islam. She is mainly targeting the Pakistani community. Red lool sounds like everyone is having a reunion! Lol ;loool @ I thought Canadian were a brave people
  18. Mantra thanks I e-mailed em: Man you are even more negative than me girl, what’s with that? Paragon What happened to the rest of your thread? miyaad iiga laa nooqati? I was well chaffed with that Explain the sudden change please ? Taliban: Ok Kimiya: I don't know I’ve never noticed I knew so few, I guess I never went to any functions, and at school, college, uni, I was never in the same year as a Somali. I'll PM you my details in a moment. Thanks
  19. C lady. I don't police women who got married to see how long they are carry that child for? it is none of my business really, and what ever she did is between her and her lord. I still stand by my statement. If you are too fast and go to some dude's house ( i don't care if you were dating for 10yrs) whatever happens to you is your own doing and you have no one to blame. As for working naked? Are you kidding me. It is an open invite honey.
  20. Dabshid hmmm, I guess so Nuune okay lool Hodman Iool sounds like a struggle, I’ll make sure to avoid it.! Lol. What will the whole of SOL be doing in Hargisa? Are you going for real? I know JAC claims to live there : ) lool Zafir thanks Rokko : that is a good idea, but I hear 60% of the population can’t read Northern I did not know you were a fan of Melanie Philips AKA mad Mel. Mantra do send me an update of how things went and I don’t think drilling a well is gone get me far in Hargisa, I might need to branch out a bit. The divorce thing does sound tempting lool
  21. Suddenly I don’t seem to have enough time to do anything, so many things I have to do, so little time. One of my current projects in the last few weeks is to create an active Somali organization that is aware of the current state of affairs and how the Somali community is affected by this before i leave in June. In the UK, we have so many organizations working for other communities, e.g. the Pakistan/ Bangladeshi/ Arabs. As for the Somali community they only thing I ever came across was Somali cultural centers (which basically help non English speakers fill out forms or translate for them. How come the Somali community don’t have organizations like MCB, MAB, MPACUK (don’t get me wrong it is good these people exist, but I have worked with every single one, and they barley know Somali people exist, let alone need support). I always knew this was the Somali communities down fall, but then every time I spoke to someone, they always had an explanation or rather an excuse should say (Somali community came after all these, we are less rich, less educated etc). So what changed my mind, people getting arrested under the terror laws, lack of unified response from the Somali community regarding the invasion in Somalia and few other things. To make a long story short, I decided to stop making excuses and launch an organization. I mean it can’t be that hard? Can it! Erm where on earth do I start ( I went through my contact list and found six Somali people on their, three of them my cousins) lets just say that shocked me. So I thought I’ll ring up other organizations and ask them to help promote, or for them to join together. My logic I don’t want anything from them, I’m not asking for money or power, all I want is 2hrs a week. So I though I’ll create a yahoo e-group, get people to join, launch a website, publish material, create teams (an operations team, campaigns team, web team, politics team, current affairs team etc) . Away I went, created the e-group, invited the six people I knew (to my shock only 3accepted the invitation!) I grabbed the Muslim directory, and visited 'find locals' and identified 50 organizations to contact. How hard can it be I did telesales when I was at school, at least this was for a good course right! Wrong it was hard! Some of these organizations were not even active anymore, others had moved, and only three had an e-mail address. Of the first 10 I rang, only three picked up, one was rude (kind of what has that got to do with me attitude, one said to call back to speak to decision maker and the other said that they were a simple interest group who only worked with parents and did not want to deviate from this!) So I came on here to pick your brains and have a rant! What is my next step? i was thinking i need to forget about other organisations and go directly to the masses.., but how..
  22. nuune thanks (why are do you call yourself nuune by the way, doe sit not mean baby?) That is a really good idea, but it is a big job, and equipment, and masses will need to be enlighten people who help organise their rubbish instead of dumping it in each others door steps like i heard. So i don't know, pluz how can you make money out of that (unless you charge families for taking their rubbish, which no one will pay if they can just dump it) hhmm
  23. What question Hun, OHH, you mean this one! .. hmm. I'll tell you what, I’ll give you double that, if you put together a detail plan, strategy, risk assessment and implementation plan. How it deal?
  24. sandpaper for a finish touch     by the way i don't think she is fartuun, fartuun had bad english! Hodman, thats not being people's person, it means you go wrong places, stop hanging out in beauty/ bleaching stores!
