That was the headline to an article in the Sun, which informed its readers that "a Muslim bus driver told stunned passengers to get off so he could PRAY. The white Islamic convert rolled out his prayer mat in the aisle and knelt on the floor facing Mecca. Passengers watched in amazement as he held out his palms towards the sky, bowed his head and began to chant." This story, along with the accompanying video clip, was widely circulated around the right-wing blogosphere, where it was presented as yet another example of the "Islamification" of the West. The Freethinker took it as conclusive proof that "the lunacy that is Islam has now insinuated itself into Britain's public transport system". Dhimmi Watch introduced the Sun report as a case "from our ever-expanding You Can't Make This Stuff Up file". Except that in reality, and predictably, it turns out that the story was made up. The Slough and Windsor Observer reports: "London United Busways say they have carried out a full investigation after driver Arunas Raulynaitis rolled out his prayer mat to perform his daily prayers, facing Mecca on the number 81 bus in Langley. Bosses have analysed evidence, including CCTV footage, and say the driver was actually on his 10-minute break when the incident took place at around 1.30pm on Thursday. "They added that the control room had in fact radioed Mr Raulynaitis to terminate the bus outside Langley Fire Station in London Road because it was running late due to road works. Passengers were asked to leave the vehicle while they waited for another bus to pick them up to complete their journey. "Steffan Evans, spokesman for London United Busways, said: 'The bus was delayed and by the time it had reached Langley the next bus on the route had caught up. At this point the bus service controller decided that in order to maintain the frequency of the buses he would curtail the late bus, and therefore instructed the driver to transfer his passengers in order that they could continue their journey without any further delay'." Of course, this doesn't prevent the paper from heading its article "Bosses defend Muslim who stopped the 81 bus to pray" . Source: http://www.islamophobia-watch.com

Peaceful and progressive Somaliland rightfully deserves recognition
Ibtisam replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
I arrived here last Friday and have witnessed incredible hospitality from the Somalilanders. I have been treated to free meals and endless tea by stangers, driven around by people I met only a day before Loool the miskeen is easy to please. As somali's we do not consider food and tea as incredible hospitality! lol Lool Maaxy kuula tayeh! -
Libaax I've come across the same percentage in four different sources, maybe there is a cover up of some sort On a serious note, I don't know, I cannot imagine that only a certain portion of the city voted, nor does the literature point to any disagreements within the town. IF I come across any explanations I will share
-
^^^Nephy are you bored again. Isseh I know Hoffman is, but that could be a good thing in the Somali case, as much of history was not written for a long time. Also it is hard to see how they edited/ changed things to fit into new theories when there is nothing to compare with in the first place. Caamir: Jooji the patronizing please. Before you get in a huff I said that “Statistically speaking that mention little town had more "yes" vote than the north as a whole”. There is no other reason why I mention it, in case you was reaching elsewhere. Just a simple comparison, run with it how you like. I can't use the site you gave me, I need something more balanced or at least hides its bias well. P.s. Referendums are usual held all over the country dear, why would you assume that I thought it was only in the south?? I mentioned the north because they were most unhappy with the results according to the literature. As for the title, there are times where they are mutually exclusive, even politics aside. Edit: Lool @ Isseh. Yes but anyone writing about the EU will have valid reasons to justify this, and will be able to explore the implications without people getting mad. EDIT: You know I though Nephy said where is the toilet, but I just realized she is looking for my relatives lol You all have the wrong end of the stick, Maaxa hiilis keeney? this thread is: things you discover about Somalia/ Somaliland, not guess @ Ibtisam motive and political thought.

JB saying "sii fiician baad uu sexxota baby" lol MAlika I already know if I did a good job or not, I don't need someone to point out the obvious. Pluz you often set yourself higher standards than everyone else. When someone says good job with something you know was not good by your standard, you will think What an ***** of a partner I have

Just started writing my thesis and I’ve come across some interesting things in my research. I though it may help few of the fish generations in SOL. So I will post here snippets I come across. For example today while writing my background I found out that Somali’s constitution was drafted by the Italian legal officials, I always assumed old men sat under a tree and did it! I also found out that North largely rejected the constitution, the flag and anthem with the following statistics in four of the major cities; Hargeisa (72%), Berbera (69%), Burao (66%) and Erigavo (69%) all returned negative votes. To make it worse and most tellingly, Wanla Weyn, (a small town not far from Mogadishu according to the map), recorded a higher yes-vote than the northern vote as a whole. This has messed up my hanky dory picture my family told me of happy days singing while the blue flag was raised. Also it contradicts the views I’ve heard that it was the north pushing for unification??? This essential means we were on shaky ground even before take off nooh? P.s. Statistics is from Adam 1994 p.25 and Hofmann 2002 p. 11-12

^^^You mean like if he is a pimp or a hassler or in the mafia I don't think it will make a difference if all you want is his money. Hablaha chasing money haa kaa sheekiyaan this. Interesting twist though and I’m just teasing. I’m sure no Somali girl would marry the above even for money.

Hello. Just woking on my presentation. hmmm. I can't decide if I want this job. How do you if it is the one? I have another interview next week. What if I like that one better? Can I start a job and leave within a week?

What is your partner has no good qualities?? This sounds so patronizing and unless your partner is a child annoying. People need to learn to make themselves feel good rather than clinging on to other people to make them feel worthy. The need for consent reassurance is a drain and repetitive, soon you'll be saying all kinds of things just to boost their ego, regardless of whether they are true or not. Then they realize you are lying and then.... lol Guys need stop being such big babies, starting with you JB, your partner do not have time to baby sit you. *ducks* P.s. Married sisters you can thank me anytime

Looooooooool @ fatboy!! JB if I can add to the brother, despite our different time zone, I sleep and you are online (MSN, FB, SOL) and I wake up and when I get aorund to log on, you are also online. Loool @ Fatboy, maskiine. nice brother is worried for ya! lol

Malika I have no problem with that one, if you see him, send him my way. But the lady asked if you would marry for Money. Hence my far reaching extreme examples of when marrying for money will be okay. I omitted to mention that if you follow my advise you will end up in prison. Just all these grown women here promoting gold digging practices is madness.com. What happens when the Mr. rich adds you to his collection of things he owns for a while or he lose all his money and then you are stuck with a broke nigga with an attitude and no personality. JB lol miyaad baaqatee? good thing your not rich soo maah. lol

-
 It is sad some people are still stuck on the stone age. What is wrong with your perfectly good hands, legs and brain (even if it is semi functioning)? You should ONLY ever marry a rich man if you are planning for the short term (i.e. killing him in few months, stealing his money and running way with it all, sweet talking it all out of him) Anything longer then six month, you better not marry for money.
