i thought there is not limits in jannah, and that there is more awaiting us than what is described in the quran. alot of people, male and female, dont care much for the physical rewards mentionned in the quran, but look forward to it because of the pureness of state we will all attain. everyone will get any and everything they want including those on the bottom level of the garden. there will be no deviance (since we will all be dtaher). could it be out of modesty that similar rewards (you know, with an overt sexual implication) isnt mentionned for the women? the problem is, men dont like the idea that women might (and some women really dont), desire more than one man... and most of our scholars are men. so my question than is, is a woman desiring more than one man deviant? can we answer that without our nafs clouding our judegement? but than I think, Allah created Hawa as a companion for Adam... not the other way around. Allah made man to need/desire women... and a similar desire is in women, but it's not as innate because Allah created her to be his one and only. looking around though, i cant help but notice how women, in general, are inclined towards monogamous relationships. the other thing is, men see women as ornaments... so they get alot of women in jannah. yes its offensive, but you know what they're not getting/using human women but houri's who were created for one purpose (similar to the single mindedness of angels). obviously, Im not a scholar these are my own ramblings. forgive me if I have said anything offensive or wrong.

id like to see you prove it too... keep in mind, the prophet(peace be upon him) never abolished the tribal system in arabia (which is very similar to what we still have in our part of africa), but used it to his advantage when possible (like through marriages) and/or created new bonds of friendship between warring clans through the deen of al islam (like the ansar, who consisted of two antagonistic tribes but who obeyed Allah' and his messenger's commandments).

I was told recently by someone how we should be careful to add "kheyr" or to signify when we say "jazak Allah" because Allah subhana wa ta ala says in the quran how He will reward the fajiroon with an evil punishment. Basically, we can be rewarded with evil. So next time, make sure you specify what sort of reward you want for the person you are thanking. Just something to think about, especially since the topic is about what we ask for and what we say. Jazak Allah kheyran!

i didnt say it was bidah. i asked how reading the quran would be of benefit to our brothers and sisters in gaza. i gave a possible answer, (which as far as i know is sound), but was hoping for an answer that would clarify any possible incorrect conclusions. receiving no answer, i pre-emptively dropped the unwanted conclusion, (the conclusion i didnt want, but did not make yet) that being bidah... if it is not from the tradition of the prophet than we should steer clear from it, and choose from the many options available to us from our beloved muhammad (peace be upon him)'s sunnah. i am not a scholar. akhi kheyr, honestly this wasnt meant as an attack, nor did i mean to belittle this initiative but i just want to know if this is in the tradition of our beloved prophet (peace be upon him). that is all.
