    The core reason why Somalia is in the state it is in is a simple one. There was no clear winner when it came to the civil war. Unlike Rwanda were one faction was able to restore central power. The USC and SPM were both on the same page when it came to a unity government until the SPM was accused of suddenly reversing direction and allied itself with Barre, who was seeking to reestablish his regime. Aideed could have step aside and let Ali mahid rule for 4 years and then campaign for election himself. But this type of thinking requires a high intellect which Somalis clearly do not possess.

    Somalia has low cunning qablist hell bent on their clan rising above other Somali clans. Even in Somaliland you have hardcore qablist like Edna Adan only giving jobs and resources to her clan Arap. All of this is simply there was no clear winner in the civil war. Which is why I believe Somalis lost their country as soon as they picked up the gun.

    I think Bihi is using this as a opportunity to clean out any disloyal pockets in Somaliland. Bihi is paranoid about what is happening in South Somalia and the more stable it gets the less chance for Somaliland joining the U.N as an independent country.

    What is wrong with you people? Qabkii iyo hankii sare aaway? For educated bright people, fikraddiina aad bay u hoosaysaa. Never let your poor sitaution to lead you to beg/be dependent on others. There is always a way out if you are mentally self-sufficient. Laakiin hadduu nin kale maskaxda kaa haasta, you will forever be dependent.

    What you speak of was available to Somalis on 1st July 1960. But Somalis have throw away their blessing on qabil. A mistake that will lead to their extinction.

    What you fail to understand sir is this. Ethiopia has along history of state building. Ethiopia also has a lot of nationalist inside and outside the country. A communist named Mengistu disintegrated Somali society for the last 30 years with every little effort on his part. Somalis are not nationalist but are clannish, the whole world knows this. These are the facts.

    For selfish reason the SNM fort for the removal of the Kacaan forces from their lands. The SNM are not a revolutionary group seceding from a tyrant king as in the case of America. The SNM were a terrorist organisation like the PKK or hezbel allah fighting for supremacy against other groups it deemed inferior. Which is why no Darood sub clans were admitted into he the northern struggle. This was a fight between racist Isaaq and a legitimate government of Barre (remember the Isaaqs supported Barre's coup in 1969). So what changed?

    The SNM just got lucky when more than one factor went their way. Using hit and run attacks, planting bombs for military convoys and assassinating police chiefs in Hargeisa are the tactics of terrorist organisation think of the IRA. If Barre succeeded in defeating the SNM they would be seen as a terrorist organisation today. Look at what is happening in Syria; without Russian support the Syrian regime would have fallen long ago.International support for Barre's regime soured and Aid money stopped in 1989. The fact he was fighting a new faction group created in the same fashion as the SNM, the United Somali Congress headed by Ali mahid and Aideed. A couple of additional missteps and Barre was out of power.

    Understand this the Northern Isaaq hate Barre because he did not give them lucrative jobs and help them loot the country...only the Marehan were given this. The Isaaqs are bitter because they never got an opportunity to loot the resources of the country. Notice what they are doing to their fellow Isaaqs in Hargeisa today, confiscating land, resources ect... Muse Bixi learnt all this form Barre. The same old song playing itself out this time in Somaliland.

    Yes. Once they had Barre dependent on them for Aid money they could control the moment they cut it off. Classic NATO move. Rope Barre in with financial promises and tell him more is coming. Let Barre increase the intensity of the fighting in the North (1988 bombardment). Once the Somalis see how brutal Barre is they will turn away from Somali nationalism and return to clanism. Then move on to the final stage, by cutting off Barre's legs and bring the whole thing down. Somalis now have no country, no home and no money. Somalia destroyed. Mission accomplished.

    The white man is very conspiratorial and smart. To this day the Somalis have no idea the extent of the NATO plan. Libya got the Somali treatment. I believe Saudi Arabia maybe next on NATO's list.

    Did I not say that the SNM are a fifth column among the Somali people. They were used to bring down a government and make Somalis ( including themselves) homeless. SNM are proud of what they did, their low cunning nature made big problem for Somalis all over the world.

    Now isaaqland is begging for a UN seat. Ask yourself why did they join if they never wanted Somalia to work? It's simple they are a fifth colum to bring Somalis down from the inside. Their day will come.

    The scenario that I described is being planned by the Pentagon. Since Somalia sets on a strategic trade route between east and west. They want the political instability to come to an end one way or another. Somaliland is seeking independence but this is a fools erred as the SNM were promised this by mengestu in 1981 when they started their rebellion which is what motivated them in the beginning.

    The Somali territories will be absorbed by Ethiopia, Kenya and Djibouti. As the West wants this location stable for future trade route and commercial domination. Tick Tock...
