Sources, citations, provide concrete examples and evidence to back up your nonsense.

And again, what have you read from Khourchide and Abou El Fadl? Critique their work and deconstruct their arguments here for us, since you take issue with their work. Pinpoint what you take issue with in their writing, or you have nothing to say.

Okay, lets begin with this; he said in a book that heaven is accessible to anyone that lives a good life - regardless of whether one believed in God, do you agree with him?

It's not rich, that's life in qurbaha and the expenses associated with the cost of living here. Have you forgotten?

When topics are being discussed on public forums try to not personalize it, try to not make it about you (ex. I am phd student, the school you go to, how much you make, posting pictures of your family etc..) debate/discuss on issues without all that.

And yes, I agree with you; it's matter of becoming a renter for life or getting a mortgage, because not too many people have large sum of money sitting around somewhere.

No, my friend- it just went above your head- it is okay it is not your fault.

Ap: You have graduated from pretending to be an atheist to sitting on the sides make childish remarks- congratulations.

Truth be told I haven't read your post fully, just skimmed through. I don't plan to read it as well, have a good-day madame.

One last question Safferz, what do you think of Irshad Manji? Also, is it okay in
    Islam
(be it religiously or in Islamic Shariah) to be a homosexual/lesbian? Have in mind that Irshad Manji advocates for a total reform/overhaul in Islam/Quran, so to speak.

The 2nd question has been answered:

  5. let every man architect of his own fortune. If you want a small family find a a girl that also wants the same, and those that want to have large family find a mate that wants to have a large family. Many of us here are from large families and confess that having a large family has its benefits.

That's not how it works. I have no problem citing figures from UNICEF or the WHO, neither do any of my colleagues or professors. It's not some uncited Wikipedia sentence, it's the United Nations. If you're the one who for some strange reason decides their research is faulty, then the onus is on *you* to show the flaws in the data.

    .

I didn't dismiss their research but rather wanted to know more about that research. How was the information/data collected and what methods were used.

  7. There are many that don't exactly follow what media is telling them and following information they're reading from authority figures. In the future if you're using some authority body to back your arguments, please break it down for the skeptics. Thanks :)

  8. Well damn :) , I don't mean to make this about me. My credentials don't really matter here. You made an argument and you used stats to support it - I simply asked for you to enhance your argument, I shouldn't be the one to do the homework here , the onus is on you. You may believe the authority is infallible, but as hard for you to believe there are some that don't buy into the BS (especially true for social sciences work).

Can you be more specific about why you "don't buy into stats"? Do you have the background in theoretical and applied statistics and other quantitative research methods to debunk what people with PhDs in those fields have compiled and analyzed? I'd love to hear more.

You can look up how individual NGOs and government agencies conduct research and collect data, but to give you an idea, here's
    ,
    and the
    on their methodologies.

Who is yo say I'm not a phd student in chemical engineering? But that's beside the point. Please do tell us how they gathered those stats (specific to those you provided in your previous relpy to Norf)

My arguments are actually quite well structured and relevant to the topic, I'm sorry you can't follow.

But sure, here are some figures -- infant mortality rates by country (
    ,
), maternal mortality rates by country (
    ,
    ), obstetric fistula in
    Somalia
    (
    ,
    ), women's literacy rates in Somalia (
    ).

Some key points and excerpts from the links and reports:

    - under five mortality rate is 225 per 1,000 live births (placing us in the bottom 3 in the world, in some rankings #1)

    - one in 10 Somali children die before their first birthday and one in 12 women die from pregnancy related causes (bottom 2 in world)

    - less than 30 per cent of the country has access to safe water

    - acute malnutrition afflicts 17 per cent of children

    - 2.12 million Somalis, more than half of whom are children, were in an Acute Food Security Crisis in 2012

    - estimated incidence of obstetric fistula per 1000 deliveries is 3-5

    - adult literacy rate: 49.7% of men, 25.8% of women

Hi, I would like to better understand this since I don't buy into stats.

Would you happen to know how they gathered those stats, and who were asked? what was the sample? few people or the entire population?
