This means one believes, contrary to what the Quran says, that a disbeliever can attain salvation in the realm beyond our worldy one. It may have become some sort of perfunctory habit for us to say R.I.P to every person who had some redeeming qualities, irrespective of faith, but lets not kid ourselves and pretend that we can have it both ways. Either we believe in the Quran, and don't believe disbelievers will be saved, or we don't believe in the Quran and we can keep on R.I.P'ing nonbelievers to our hearts content. you are BANNED from this thread.

Slang: Extremely Disparaging and Offensive a) commonly used to refer to a member of the i.s.a.a.c.k clan or a descendent of the duriyada b) used in a pejorative manner against a member of the i.s.a.a.c.k clan or a descendent of the duriyada 2. Transliteration chose-for-me 3. Origin the origins of the term is disputed but it first entered mainstream spoken Somali in the 1830s. it was originally used by camel-herders from the south (modern day kilika 5-aad), who were unable to access goods or services meant they were forced to barter (exchange basic goods and services for their livestock) with the more affluent and cosmopolitan coastal people of the North (member of the i.s.a.a.c.k clan or a descendent of the duriyada). hence, the term was borne out of one tribes frustrations and over-reliance for survival on another tribe. the term has become less used in modern times but its historical connotation, all too often, evokes a deep-seated historical rivalry but more particularly a disparaging hatred for members of the i.s.a.a.c.k clan or a descendent of the duriyada by camel-herding long-leggers. ;) LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

The army was already there. Now you have the army and you have a music festival. Progess nooh. i suppose you're right NG, but progress shouldn't be equated to holding music festival. using this analogy is the same as saying ''hey look AS, we're holding music festivals...so 2 fingers to you''.. a bit pathetic, really, inaar.

  17. Haatu;936009 wrote: She was a racist and very haughty in her dealings with the poor. As for the capitalism vs socialism debate, it is only logical that each man has the liberty to gain and amass wealth using whatever avenues he wishes (so long as it's legal) and has the right to spend it as he sees fit. It is not the place of the state or anyone else for that matter to dictate to him how he should manage his wealth. With that said, in no shape or form do I support the immoral (and riba filled) practices of the greedy bankers that led to the credit crunch. As for nation development, the state should only focus on providing the key infrastructure and vital social services as well as enforcing regulations. It should then let the private sector do what it does best: make money. The state should in no way show favouritism to one sector over another (excluding subsidies to farmers to make them globally competitive) and should limit protectionism to as little as possible. Protecting useless, unsustainable industries does nobody any benefit, better to let foreigners come in and teach domestic enterprises how the job is done. seems like someone is on their way to acing their A Levels, ma istidhi?

But at times, like in the above post, u come across a tad bit condescending in your choice of words. Such a style will only shift the debate from an honest exchange and critique of ideas and positions, to one where egos reign supreme as each person becomes defensive and tries to reinforce his/her superority at whatever cost, sacrificing objectivy and the pursuit of truth in exchange for a perceived victory. +1
