I think you have made the elimentary mistake made by many a person on this forum and that is to jump to a conclusion without reading the whole thread. first and foremost we are not sucking up to the ethiopians. in essence what we are doing is to get the most out of the ethiopians for our own benefit. We completely and utterly disagree with what they are doing in the south to our somali brother and but we also have to think of our national interests and that is to do the best of our people in terms of getting trade from the etho's. the real enemy in the south who is allowing somali's to be slayed in the south is abdulahi yusuf without whom the ethiopians would never have been able to enter somalia. so blame him for the troubles in the south and not us who oppose ethiopian presence in this south.

I am fairly new lover of somali music and have been getting to know a lot of the songs and musicians. My favourite ones so far are Cumar Shooli and Fuad Omar I was wondering if there are actually charts of somali music like the ones we have here in the west and if so it is possible to view them online. Manshallah indeed, This practice is not in line with islam like our brother taliban stated before and therefore should not be practiced. it will be very hard to enforce a similar ban in somalia and somaliland because it is mainly practiced in pastoral and nomadic sections of our countries but has been decreasing in the urban communities for a long time. i see it being easily removed in those sections but cant see it happening in the truly nomadic and pastoral communities where it is part and parcel of their Dhagan. Taliban, Brother you seem to have your values and principles sorted out but it is true that in our culture this girl will now find it very difficult especially back home. i dont see why but sadly that is the way it is. she wont necesarily be blamed for the incident but the way in which is perceived and treated in her community will certainly change quite dramatically What Speith said is an overstatement but this issue is still a controversial issue in our culture.

Geel jire, i dont where you have been getting your information from, but all the Landers especially the ones on this forum have adovacated their support for the Islamic courts and the good work they did in the somalia. Most of the landers on this forum have said that on numerous times. yes, some opposed them because of the irregularities in their policies but somalilanders in general were in support. we do want that dog ousted but that is view shared by the majority of Somali's all over the world. the man is the enemy of every somali and needs to be eliminated for somali's to ever have a chance to reconcile their differences On the issue of our collaboration with the Ethiopians, it is beneficial for both countries that we trade with eachother and a delegation of somaliland has gone over their to strengthen our trade and economic links.
