  1. Sakhar I would agree with you that there are many different tribes that reside in these cities, however, the majority of the people know that one particular tribe has all the advantages, while minorities are dictated.

Speaking of Major10/Land there are many tribes, but there is the occasional war between factions --- so lets not assume they all live under the guidelines of peace and justice.

  2. Tuujiyee Great to hear from you again, I was really wondering where you disappeared to. I have to support the webiste, respect must be shown where its due --- Yes I used to rap, I was ahead of time, thou I’m not one at the moment, I do help some of them gain exposure still. I’m not an academic, nor educated, I’ve always admired stup1dity and long been part of the anti-intellectual movement. I don’t like poetry, too complex, but I do like films. I will be home soon – I hear the ‘I love Somalia revolution’ has met its eventual end, politics can be dirty. I’ll see you at the Barber Shop.

    Wareer Badanaa!!!

  3. ^^ i would agree with you, tribe or no tribe, Xamar will always be home - and i doubt Xamar is designated for one particular tribe, prior to the war, every tribe lived there and after the chaos, all tribes shall return to it.

  4. I admire the entire website – the admin for bringing together young Somali people who are progressive and analytical. I won’t name my favourites, i don’t want to forget or upset anyone.

  5. I think K’NAAN represents the new voice of hip hop --- when BET stops degrading black culture, people like K’NAAN will get their voices heard – his music channels historical references that are relevant for the young generation – because how can one know where they’re headed without knowing their past.

I just hope Somalis would support him --- a lot of people are talking too much ish about him. Some accuse him of stealing old Somali poetry and translating them to English, some hate his voice – we have to understand he is our voice.

I remember a concert he did in montreal, seeing all the French people screaming and chanting Somali sayings like ‘sobax’. We can’t shut our most prominent voice to the world at the moment, in terms of media coverage. Our nation is forgotten by most people – for now he’s our brand spokesperson.

  6. I think the more we obsess about Ayan Hersi, the more we legitimize her as a political entity with force. She is miserable for promoting anti-Islamic policies – I would say let’s not speak about her anymore – cuz she loves being in peoples gossip and beefs.

  7. I think most of the people on SOL advocate ideas they would otherwise refrain from in real life. Many people say things on here that they would otherwise choose not to say to real people. I wouldn’t worry thou, most of the people on SOL know each other outside of SOL, I would say majority of them. You’re among good people I wouldn’t worry.

  8. Gotta love the randomness of this topic – coffee is nice if its costs less than a dollar – I hear Starbucks is opening 30k more stores this year. Would you really buy 5 bucks coffee?

  9. I’m glad things are much more clearer now than they were before. NC hopefully you didn’t take my post as being attack posts against you ---- many nomads have tried in the past to use the same argument – accusations per se. I was not picking on you, I was just trying to say lets not jump to conclusion – sometimes is good to question things.

There are many Somalis in the US – you can find some of them around your area.

Enjoy your trip to the US and good luck with your work plans. Hopefully you will get a visa.
