Somalia’s Interior, Foreign Minister denies on mosque massacre
Naxar Nugaaleed replied to Koora-Tuunshe's topic in Politics
L, i think this is the most balanced thing you have said on this forum and i really welcome this change of heart, if thats what it is. For the rest, would hurt you guys to let facts come and then let the facts speak for themselves instead of presenting your opinions as facts. as for all the xabasha bashing in this forum, i would suggest you guys go to addis or asmara instead sol and encouraging bunch of starving maskiins to risk their lives because of a hatred you have for other Somalis or xabashas. talk the talk, walk the walk. -
Forces from Somalia's Puntland region have stormed a UAE-flagged cargo ship hijacked by pirates in the Gulf of Aden, local officials say. The men from the semi-autonomous region defeated the pirates after "brief fighting", the mayor of the region's Bosasso port told Reuters news agency. Seven pirates were arrested in the incident a day after the Al-Khaleej was hijacked, local officials said. Pirates also seized a Spanish fishing boat in the area at the weekend. At least three people were wounded in the incident, although the ship's crew were unhurt, local reports said. The ship was hijacked en-route to Bosasso on Monday. Notorious area The incident is the latest in a spate of pirate raids on vessels in Somali coastal waters, some of the most hazardous in the world. A Spanish naval frigate is now heading for the area where pirates seized a Spanish tuna trawler with 26 crew on board The captain of the trawler - contacted by Spanish radio - said the crew were "all well". The Somali pirates have demanded a ransom. The Playa de Bakio - a Basque tuna boat - was attacked about 250 miles (400km) off the coast. Earlier this month, a luxury French yacht was hijacked with 30 people on board. A Paris court has charged six Somalis over the incident, detained when French commandos carried out a raid on the vessel to free the hostages. Last year, more than 25 ships were seized by pirates in Somali coastal waters. Somalia has not had an effective central government for more than 17 years and is plagued by insecurity. Puntland, an arid region in the country's north-east, declared itself an autonomous state in August 1998. SOURCE: BBC News, April 22, 200

BOSASSO, Somalia (Reuters) - Somali troops stormed a Dubai-flagged ship on Tuesday that had been hijacked by pirates off the Horn of Africa nation, releasing its crew and arresting the pirates, an official said. "Our troops stormed onto the Al-Khaleej and engaged the pirates. There was brief fighting before they defeated them," Abdirizak Hared, the mayor of Bosasso port, told Reuters. The Al-Khaleej had been carrying food for sale in Somalia when it was raided by pirates seven km (four miles) off Bosasso on Monday. A surge in hijackings for ransom has made the waters off Somalia some of the world's most dangerous shipping zones. Over the weekend, pirates seized a Spanish tuna fishing vessel with 26 people aboard. SOURCE: Reuters, April 22, 20

MOGADISHU, Somalia: Security forces in northern Somalia stormed a hijacked ship Tuesday, rescuing the hostages and arresting seven pirates in an operation that wounded three people, officials said. The Dubai-flagged ship, which was seized Monday, originated from the United Arab Emirates, said Abdullahi Said Samatar, security affairs minister in Somalia's semiautonomous Puntland region. "Our forces rescued a small commercial boat hijacked on Monday off the coast of Bossaso town," Samatar told The Associated Press. "Three were injured in the operation and seven others will be brought to justice." It was not immediately clear how many people had been held on the ship. Piracy is rampant off Somalia's coast. The U.S. and France are drafting a U.N. resolution that would allow countries to chase and arrest pirates off Somalia's coast, responding to a spate of attacks including this week's hijacking of a Spanish tuna boat. So the notion that people were against the TFG from day one is false. This is the truth. Support is always conditional. yes support is conditional but dowladdiidnimo is not. -

It would be asking too much from ordinary Puntlanders to take blame for what he alone [and his supporters] has done. Labeling me a hatemonger clanist is beyond the pale. I don't whine at all; I tell it like I see it. So, keep on believing whatever you want; that's your option. It doesn't bother me at all if you get flamed especially by facts and truth. It further implies that you are blind-folded by addeer, as well as your own restricted viewpoints. If yey is not puntland or represents his clan, what is the clan that you dowladiids are crying about? Clan this, clan meeting that, what is this mysterious clan. How idiotic of you guys not to realize that by talking all this none sense about yey's clan and where he is from, makes you part of what you are mocking. as for those calling other muslims gaal, again, that only makes you a gaal. Bottom line people, you can't be in here day in day out encouraging attacks against the government and civilions and all gun *** about we should be fighting and then come here pigeon when few on your side are killed or arrested for doing exactly what you been suggesting. caqlixumo! -

if you do the crime, you must do the time! I hope they get life in prison. People like this make it harder for the thousands of people in need of help from getting aid because everybody is scared to even help us. Land isbaaro, now a sea isbaaro, we have only airplanes left to be hijacked in Somalia.

Originally posted by LayZie G.: quote:surrounded the government in its base in baidoa? that they went as for as puntland to the north and and jubba to the south. Naxarow, I am really glad you got that off your chest. This says that you think adeerkaa aka yey waged a preventive war against xamar weyn and its wadaado's with the assist of the ethio army and the funding of the bush administration, ALL IN THE NAME OF FEAR. This way yey and co are assured puntu-land and area will never fall under the wadaado hands, and as for the ethios, they just want any excuse to enter somalia, and bush just wants to come out on top as the top hunter of terror, even if it means allowing greedy countrymen going at it all in the expense of the innocent hooyooyin and ilmo for few measly dollars.. Dukey, its your turn... walaal, adeer abdullahi aside, you must have not read what I said and its understandable, sense people here have reduced speaking about what our country faces into group x and group y, that you would assume what I am saying with having read what i said. None the less, like i said, the attack on the courts was not a preemptive war for to many reasons. most importantly, they attacked the government, attacked regional administrations in puntland, hiiraan, shabelle, and jubba and declared a war on ethiopian. Preemptive war is when you assume an imminent attack but you attack first. Thats not what happened here, the courts not only declared war on the government, other administration and ethiopia. Also, the characterization of a government, transitional or otherwise, defending its territory or stopping criminals in its own country, as waging a preemptive war is a little silly. -

Originally posted by Northerner: ^^Are you really trying to talk sense into NN? stop being childish. Lois, walaal, some of us here no longer debate issues as you can see, is good that we try to understand each. genocide aside, what happened between the courts and the government as i tell you is not an opinion but a known fact. it is a fact that the government was one of the first to congratulate them when they defeated the war lord alliance. it is a fact that the government sent its president, the speaker of parliament, the prime minister, the foreign minister to khartoum while the courts sent some unknown guy cadow but not its leaders aweys and sharif. You read that article by that award winning Somali author nuraddin farah called the accidental diplomat who has met with both sides to see what he things. -
Stop the Genocide and End the Humanitarian Crisis in Somalia
Naxar Nugaaleed replied to rudy-Diiriye's topic in Politics
walaal I am not picking and choosing (actually a friend of mind accuses of this a lot), i have yet to see this "NATIONAL, ethnical, racial or religious group" that the government and its allies are trying to destroy. I hope you understand but my objection to use of the word is not to minimize what has happened to Somalis in this conflict between the government and the anti government fighters, but it just doesn't fit and it does minimize what genocide actually is. Lastly, this conflict was not started because the Somali, ethio and us governments decided to start a preemptive war but it was act of defense. have we forgotten that is was the Islamic courts that left their base in Mogadishu, declared jihad on ethiopia and surrounded the government in its base in baidoa? that they went as for as puntland to the north and and jubba to the south. No, there was no preemptive war but these "courts" were defeated by ethiopia but by a coalition, local administrations like those of Puntland, hiiraan, jubba and shabelle along with the ethios, the tfg and US planes. -
