Polling stations close, vote counting begins in Somaliland’s presidential elections

HARGEISA-National Election Commission (NEC) on Monday announced the closure of polling stations and the ballot counting would begin. On Monday at 6:00 a.m. local time, voting for the presidential polls started as polling stations all over the regions opened. More than 700, 000 people were eligible to vote, according to  Election Commission (NEC). More than 62 of foreign observers are in the region to monitor the voting process who will ensure transparency of the voting process. Voting counting commenced in all polling stations across the country. Internet providing companies have disconnected all social media in nationwide.
