from the very outset, it should be pointed out a person cannot be half of something. either the person is complete or they are inbred. in the case of being ''half'' Somali, this can be only true if and only if the father is of Somali origins. if, however, the mother is of Somali origins, then he/she does not qualify as being half Somali. this is because the Somali culture is based on a patriarchal system controlled by men. this means the tribal line of succession goes through the father's lineage and not the mother's linage.
