Kenyan Oil and Puntland Oil

Recommended Posts

Somalia

Tullow Oil, which is carrying out oil exploration in the region and has a 50 per cent interest in multiple sites in Kenya and Ethiopia, said that
20 metres of net oil pay
was discovered at a site called Ngamia-1 in Kenya's Turkana County.

Range and partner Red Emperor Resources (LON:RMP) told investors that the Shabeel-1 well is now down to 3,425 metres and has confirmed the existence of a 150 metre gross section of oil and
possible net pay of 12 to 20 metres.

This is the first update on how much the net pay is, the Kenyan one increased as they drilled further.

Initially, the company had found 20 metres of net oil pay after drilling to a depth of 1041m. After drilling to a depth of 1515m, the net pay has risen to over 100m, more than its previous best of 95m in Ghana.

It's basically the thickness of the oil reservoir and how much it is able to produce. We've come a long way, may we prosper inshallah.
