The general was a visionary leader the problem was his cause was hijacked by power-hungry individuals. That's where it went wrong one thing i know for sure if the general was alive today i don't think he would've accept foreign troops to protect his government. Some men are not made for that and have self respect.

If you watch the video you will clearly see that he was interested to reconcile Somalis and organize a nationwide conference see this is part of his vision didn't succeed but the attempt was there and that's what matters. General Aideed is a very controversial character in the Somali society but give credit this man was against foreign interference in Somalia.He was a strong man obviously he made terrible mistakes as he worked him self up to the top seat which eventually destroyed our beloved capital.Only if there was another solution that could only last imagine if the conference could have been a success in Somalia that's what i mean he had a vision.

^No man comes out and says he will destroy his country but actions are louder than words. Nothing about his actions demonstrated he had Somalia's interest at heart or even his clan's interest. Everything he did was to farther his agenda at the expense of everyone.
