The beautiful Raas Casayr region of Puntland has for far too long been neglected by every leader of the State. The ignorance of our leaders and elites is baffling for this region promises a great deal in the development of the state. The fihesries industry, mineral wealth and an enterprising people is what this region holds. The ancient capital of Bargaal is situated in Raas Casayr as well as the important Cape Guardafui peninsular.

Thus the need rise and motivation of the locals of this regions brings a great deal of promise. Raas Casayr region as well as all the Eastern Ocean coast need urgent attention and development.

There needs to be a development of Roads linking Eyl, Garacad, Xafuun, Bargaal, Bayla, the Cape area and the main road.

New ports needs to be developed in Cape Guardafui, Xafuun, Garacad and Eyl.

Government offices, schools, police stations and hospitals need to be developed for these regions.

Again this is a star and good luck to the cause of Raas Casayr and the development of the Eastern regions.

Long live Somalia.

Cape Guardafui, in Somalia, is the headland that forms the geographical apex of what is commonly known as the Horn of Africa.

The Horn of Africa (sometimes called the Somali Peninsula) is a peninsula in East Africa that juts out for hundreds of kilometers into the Arabian Sea, and lies along the southern side of the Gulf of Aden.

It denotes the region containing the countries of Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Somalia, although the area visible here is exclusively part of Somalia.

South of Cape Guardafui is a 40 km long low-lying peninsula in the Bari region of northern Somalia. The promontory juts out into the Indian Ocean, where it is known as Cape Hafun and is the easternmost point on the African continent.

The promontory is joined to the mainland at the town of Foar by a sand spit 20 km long, 1-3 km in width and roughly 5 m above sea level.

Thankful

This is excellent news! We need this to occur all over Somalia! I believe that once each community focuses on their own area's we will be able to unite as a stronger force. I am hoping this occurs in more areas!

If you look at Puntland or NW Somalia both have had a degree of stability despite having a weak Federal Gov't in Mogadishu. I believe other communities need to follow the same example.

Great News.

Hmm ....

The minster for Security in Puntland, Mr Yusuf Ahmed Khayr, clarified that his administration was not going to negotiate with any group that harboured separatist ideas and deeds.

Mr Khayr also said that Puntland was ready to deal with ‘troublemakers'.

Raas Casayr is part and parcel of Puntland State of Somalia. The people of this region need development and the admin needs to address this. It is a vitally important voting issue.
