Khayr Posted September 27, 2005 Salamz, Since Ramadan is coming soon (next week, inshallah), I just wanted to know what sort of Personal Goals nomads have set for themselves this ramadan. My Goals inshallah are: -Finish reading all 30 juzs (one juz per night) -Lose some weight -Pray tarweeh salats nightly (preferably at home) Inshallah, with some effort and persistance, I can accomplish these goals. So NOMADS, what are your goals and be realistic about them, so that inshallah you can achieve them. Fi Amanillah
QANCIYE Posted September 27, 2005 Thanks Khayr for bringing this topic and asking such question. As for me, I am sooooo looking forward walaahi and can't wait. This Ramadan, I'm planning to pray every night Taraweeh as I kept missing past few years due to school/work etc. also of course read/listen quran as much @home/on the way to work in car and while in the office. I downloaded the Auto Quran Reciter already in my PC and encourage you all to do the same insh Allah. Ramadan Kareeeeeeeeeem to you all Nomads

Haneefah Posted October 2, 2005 Ramadan Kareem all! Subhanallah, I have so many for this Ramadan...on top of the list is however increasing my knowledge of tafseer Insha'Allah, not missing any taraweeh prayers as well as tahajud. I should be able to accomplish a good deal Insha'Allah for this is the first ramadan in ages where my schedule is practically free Alhamdulilah. May Allah make it easy on all of us, may He help us reap the wonderful benefits of this blessed month, and may He give us the chance to observe the night of power Insha'allah. S.O.S Posted October 2, 2005 Dear brothers and sisters, It seems that we have weight problem here! Unfortunately the only weight problem I have is the weight of my sins on the scales, for which I need to exercise more with taqwa and supplications. Which weight would btw be easier to get rid off, the body-mass weight or the sinful-scales weight? I thought I knew, but the more I think about it, the less obvious my answers would be becoming. Even when I take the blessed month of Ramadan (where the gates of Jannah are opened and the gates of Jahannamah are closed, and the devils are chained) separate from the rest of the year, I can only conclude that there are no clearcut answers. But we should remember that it is Allah who, in His Mercy, makes good deeds seem easy to some, and in His Justice, make them seem heavy burdens to carry out for some. I would advice our brother Liibaan who is trying to stop smoking, to seek Allah's aid. Whenever you feel the urge for nicotines brother, just pray two rakcaats as long as you wish or read the Qur'aan and some axaadiiths. As for the traawiix prayers, I don't think that I'll be able to perform them all, but I wouldn't miss the uneven nights of the last ten for the world!!! -Serenity- Posted October 2, 2005 Theoretically, I would love to do all that & more. Realistically, I'm gonna fast everyday and read the Quran when I can. I dont think I can manage tarawiix at all. I'm really pressed for time this Ramadan. However, for those of you planning to read the whole Quran, I came across this little chart that fits around different schedules and will help you acheive your goal. Ideally, the goal is to read 20 pages and none right after aftur . Also, Duhur is difficult for most people as you may have other responsibilities. So: If you can read four pages after dhuhur: Fajir = 4 pages Duhur = 4 pages 3assir = 4 pages Maghrib = 0 pages 3isha = 8 pages If you can read two after Duhur prayer this will be your chart : Fajir = 4 pages Duhur = 2 pages 3assir = 6 pages Maghrib = 0 pages 3isha = 8 pages If you can't do any after duhur this will be your chart: Fajir = 6 pages Duhur = 0 pages 3assir = 6 pages Maghrib = 0 pages 3isha = 8 pages p.s. It wouldnt be so bad if the Mods could come up with a Ramadan-Reading topic specifically for Quran and tafseer of certain surah's. Too big a task..but worth it if you can pull it off.
