Abullahi Sheikh Ismael's speech to the UN-Summit

Recommended Posts

I've just watched the live broadcast of the UN-Summit of 2005 and the speech delivered by Somalia's foreign minister Abdullahi Sheikh Ismael, who gave a passionate and long appeal to the UN to not to abondon and leave the Somali people in the state they are.

He urged them not to be bystanding passive onlookers to the conflict of Somalia and to further support the political process and dialogue and reconcilation that is taking place in Somalia.

Although his speech was hastedly and some of the people looked annoyed with him nevertheless this begins a new page in the history of our country.

Let's hope that the International community really listens to what we've to say.

Anyway much respect to the foreign minister for representing his country and people.

He also talked about international current affairs such as giving his condolences to the people of the United States and the victims of Katrina and also about the suffering of palestinian people and he urged for justice in the middle east.
