There has been many rumours about the fate of Sheikh Indhocade and that seven months absence before he resurfaced as the new Defence Minster of the Asmara group! Here are some of the sensational ones:

 

Straight after the defeat of the Courts, sources in the Somali capital reported seeing Sheikh Indhacade boarding a pirate boat and sailing away from the city. It is said he has been attacking cruise ships ever since.

 

Waxa la yedhi: After being handsomely defeated by the wretched Ethiopians, Sheikh Indhocade was depressed and dejected so he retired to the empty Girgire mountains. It is said that after a period of reflection and contemplation, General Indhacade realised the reason for his defeat was the lack of air support for his UIC fighters. He has spent the last seven months training a troop of pigeons to drop hot stones at the Xabashi soldiers. The Defence Minster now feels ready to defeat this modern day Abraha.

 

Others dispute both the above stories and claim that Sheikh Indhocade has spent the last seven months in the capital of Somalia. They say he comes out only at night and goes about knocking on people’s doors and encouraging them to maintain the resistance. It is said that he’s wearing a very convincing disguise and that even when he walks past Xabashi troops they never can recognise him! Some people even claim that he’s been donning some hazel coloured eye lenses and had shaved his beard off, but we find the shaving of the beard claim a bit farfetched.

 

The most unconvincing argument so far is that Sheikh Indhocade has been working (undercover of course) as a kitchen porter in Villa Somalia! It is said that he mixes the TFG president’s drinks with his own hands and helps to cook his food too! Many in his Shabaab movement have sent him messages (via those fighter pigeons) urging him to poison AY and have it done with. But noble Indhocade’s religious principles forbid him from stooping so low.

 

Some sketchy reports claim that Mujahid, Sheikh and all round nice guy Indhocade has been dead for the past seven months. They argue that the Asmara group are using his name merely to win the support of his sub-sub-clan.

 

The most convincing and credible report so far is the one that portrays Indhocade as a modern day Rambo! It is said that he spent the past seven months right in the middle of the capital and is single-handedly responsible for all the recent resistance attacks. He has become a sort of legend in the capital (and indeed many other parts of Somalia). Whenever someone exhibits signs of bravery and valour you hear people exclaiming: yarko geesisana, ma indhocade baa?

 

Our final outrageous report claims that Sheikh Indacadhe has been a victim of Ethiopian extraordinary rendition and is now languishing in an Addis Ababa jail! We reject this report on the basis that the Asmara group are not naïve enough to give a job to someone that can’t actually do it (excluding ina Caidiid of course).

Still, three years is a long time in Somali politics. Where is Aideed? Geedi? Abdul Qaasim? Sh. Sharif? The other Sharif? Aweys? Etc..etc..etc..
