NASSIR Posted February 23, 2009 What is wrong with Implementing Islamic form of rule in Somalia along with its attendant benefits that eliminates all the underlying causes of conflict perpetrated by the rump tribally conceived states, warlordism, nepotism and favoritism. Neither do the west nor the Ethiopians--under the mandate of sub-regional conflict management nor the double-edged AU have your best interest of your country at heart. Islam preserves us and shields our nation from perpetual war and conflict. We shall never let the media brainwash our view of Islam or brand Grassroots movement with labels they manufactured designed to demonize oppressed groups/society fighting for justice and self-governance. General Duke Posted February 23, 2009 ^^^Nothing is wrong with it. As long as it is not in the guise of Clan Courts. Islamic rule would benefit Somalia immensely if done right. Benefits would be security, justice, equality, the handover of looted property and stopping the scourge of Qad. Done in the fashion of Yusuf InadCade it would be a disaster. NASSIR Posted February 23, 2009 Duke, Indha-Ade is a spoiler in the grand scheme of things. In fact he is a proxy for the proponents of a secular form of Government. This in turn dilutes the relative social services and security bolstered under the Islamic administrations. We shouldn't however allow the likes of IndhaAde degrade and dilute their records and the better intentions of their vision for Somalia. The whole formation of the Islamic Party is to accentuate and speed up the break up and division of Al-Shabaab under the familiar divide and rule policy. inspector22 Posted February 24, 2009 Why should Somalia have an islamic party or islamic rule? Religious affairs and state affairs should always be divided, we don't live in the 15th century anymore, cleric rulership will most definetly take the country no where. Somali people need education and development not censorship. And you wonder why so many people from muslim countries migrate to the western world, and that a country like Greece publishes more scientific books per year than the entire muslim world combined. And here we have western educated people talking about theocratic rulership for Somalia, unbelievable.
NABAD x 3 Posted February 24, 2009 There is nothing wrong with the implimentation of Sharia, but it has to be done wisely, and correctly, Sharia is not only the cutting of theives hand or stoning an adultrer to death, but its a whole system of economics, social justice, community peace, diffence, and so on. But what we see these days is complete difference to the true Sharia, and many people who cry wolf for sharia don't realize that if sharia law is implimented many of them will be the first ones to be brought to justice because they occupy other people's houses, farms, and land. So many people who are calling for sharia law are just doing so because excuses runout and they have to invent one all the time.
Johnny B Posted February 24, 2009 There NEVER been a 'sharia' law implemented in ANY country in the world just becouse there is NO such an agreeable thing as 'sharia' law to begin. Everybody seems to have their own interpretations of what 'sharia law' might be, and the hierarchal rules of old Arabia are not applicable to our modern societies. Welcome to the ' I know what God wants ' age.
