Fabregas Posted January 14, 2007 What benefits do you feel, if there were any, did Somalia gain/gained from membership of the arab league?(economically and politically) Does the rise of Abdullahi Yusuf and the T.F.G mean that somalia will be more inclined towards the African Union and IGAD? And lastly should somalia still be a member of the Arab League?
Castro Posted January 14, 2007 Arab League has been neutered by the United States. Membership in it is meaningless. The AU is another organization castrated by the UN and the US. In my view, these organizations exist to provide the imperial quests of the west with a fig leaf to carry on their work. Just look how hard the AU is working on Somalia now that the US is "encouraging" it.
KEYNAN22 Posted January 14, 2007 Hopefully TFG will redraw from that "irrelevant organization" as Qaddafi once stated. What the hell have these monkeys from arab countries ever done for somalia except fueling the conflict with arms for their own gain?
