The attack took place in Dharkenley district of Mogadishu, according to Abukar Isack, a local police officer. The targeted vehicle was carrying police officials, including a district police commissioner, but he escaped unhurt, he added. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, the latest in a string of IED blasts in long-chaotic city in the past few weeks.
