President Farmajo’s meeting with Dani & Ahmed Madobe canceled (Reason)

 

The meeting that was expected to open tonight at Villa Somalia between President Farmajo and the heads of state of Puntland and Jubbaland has been postponed, according to reliable sources close to the Somali presidency.

The conference will also discuss how to complete looga Agreement Central 3, and discipline to participate in the election would be agreed.

The source added that the reason for calling the conference was a condition from the President of Jubbaland that the Federal Government withdraw its troops from Gedo region.

The Somali presidency announced this afternoon that the conference will open tonight, but that has not yet happened, and lower-level meetings are underway to resolve Jubbaland concerns.

Meanwhile, the President of Jubbaland and NISA Commander Fahad Yassin held an hour-long meeting in Mogadishu, with the issue of Gedo region among the issues discussed, and no details were released on the outcome of the meeting.
