OIC condemns Al-Shabaab bombing in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU (Caasimada Online) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned suicide car bomb attack claimed by Al-Shabab on Sunday in Mogadishu, that killed at least six people including two children and injured many more.

The Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, offered his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the Government and people of Somalia on the tragic loss of lives and wished early recovery to the injured people.

He noted that this cowardly attack targeting government buildings and civilians are attempts by Al Shabaab to undermine peace and stability in Somalia.

Al-Othaimeen restated the principled position of the OIC against all forms of terrorism and extremism, which have emerged as a daunting threat not only to the Member States alone but also to international peace and security.

The Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen reaffirmed the need for increased international partnership to counter the menace of terrorism.
