In 2007, a friend of mine swore that the Ethiopia will not leave Mogadishu and will establish permanent military bases in the Somali Capital. I wouldn't use the word perminent when it comes to Somalia or Ethiopia's involvement.

There is a big difference between Mogadishu and Baidoba. In Baidoba, the locals see Ethiopia as their saviours and protectors.

For your information, the first time ciidamada Itoobiya came to Baydhabo was in 2006, invited by dowladdii C/llaahi Yuusuf who were then based in Baydhabo. They were there until 2009, when Barbaarta forced them to leave. They came back in 2012.

RRA removed Caydiid Yariisoow militia by themselves, starting from deegaanada Qansaxdheere in Baay and Xuddur in Bakool in early 1999. Not a single Xabashi soldier came with them.

Unlike your SNM, who were created, nourished, fed and weaponized by Xabashi in order to destroy Soomaaliya and unlike who your adeero who worship those Xabashis daily and routinely call them 'walaalaheena Itoobiya' and 'wiilka ku dhashay Adisababa ayaa iga xiga kan Xamar ku dhashay' - Reer Koonfur Galbeed never welcomed them, never sought them to help in order to dismember Soomaaliya.

Xabashi are trying to control Soomaaliya's deegaano, no doubt about that, including collecting taxation from Wajaale in Waqooyi Galbeed at xad beenaadka. But we are resisting, unlike the secessionists like you who are bending back to facilitate any and all for them in order to destroy Soomaaliya.

He lives among a peaceful community in Soomaaliya, who value peace above all, hence the Maay maahmaah (proverb) that says 'nebedaa naas la nuugo leh.' That is why he is constantly there politically in all those years, protected by your Xabashi mercenaries. So instead of endless wars being created in those deegaano in order to remove him, Reer Koonfur are bidding their time and he will soon peacefully removed.

I personally know someone who was a team leader, a Somali, who had in his team from many ethiopian nationalities including from Tigray and Amhara up north who fought against Aidiid forces. He has made 3 tours in Bay Bakool. First against Aidiid, second working with RRA when they had planned to organize the region with local government, militia and the whole works and 3rd time during TFG of Abdulahi Yusuf.

You may be right the first invitation may have come from genral Morgan against Aidiid, but since the Ethiopians wanted to work with the locals the relationship was established then. The relationship of Bay and Bakool was good during Meles premiership through out.

Politics and diplmatic relations aside, Ethiopian soldiers never set foot in Somaliland soil. 

It's laughable when you say "we are resisting". With resistance like that, I would like to know how embracing and loving looks like for you.

The interest is mutual. Ethiopia helps the region from being battlefield for others and Bay Bakool helps Ethiopians from being battlefield of Itihad/Shabab and all incarnations of them.

You make it look like Ethiopia is a colonizer and the Bay Bakool people are welcoming colonialism. This has nothing of that sort. The region has same interest like you to develop, but can't if everytime they try and other forces are there to bring it down and back.

You are also arguing from an outlook of the old Ethiopia. Ethiopia itself has been shaken and turned up side down and completely transformed. Bay people can see this from their contact with Ethiopia. Example there is no religious issue the Ethiopians are respectful of faith and culture of the people. They do it in their country as well.

Anything interaction you do with Ethiopia, you are also doing it with your Somali ethnic. The Somali in Ethiopia is no more this excluded outside onlooker. Is part of the structure and an important player in Ethiopia, so Somalia is not just interacting with this Christian, Xabeshi empire of old.

Mugadishu or Somaliland may blame Bay for working with Ethiopia using old images, but I see Mogadishu is happiest with Ugandan Army. Ethiopian Army did not go to Somaliland for simple reason. Somaliland on its own have kept terrorism out and Ethiopia is satisfied with this situation. Ethiopia went to Djibouti to help with anti-terrorism and now Djibouti is capable of protecting itself and Ethiopia.
