    What Do Women Want?

Don't criticize me in front of other people even when I make mistakes or I displease you, Insha-Allah.

When you belittle me to make yourself look good at my expense I feel embarrassed, but powerless to strike back. Think about how you feel when you hear others tongue-lash their partners in public. Aren't you uncomfortable, Astagh Ferrullah? Please save your negative remarks until when we're alone. I'll be better able to hear you then without defensiveness, Insha-Allah.

When we see things differently, please do not devalue my perception. Recognize that one of us does not have to be right while the other is wrong. Neither do we have to struggle until we come to an agreement. When we do that I tend to give in, but I may resent you later. Join with me in trying to say cheerfully, "We just see it differently!"

If I'm upset and cry or loose control of my emotions allow me those feelings, Insha-Allah. Try to get over your discomfort with them, Insha-Allah. They are mine and I will get over them if you allow me time to do so, Insha-Allah. Alhamdulillah, I suffer less when I feel free to let them run their natural course, than if I feel pressured to suppress them so you will not be displeased.

Recognize that I am sensitive to the fact that your involvement in the world earns you more status and recognition than I get. Insha-Allah I will feel less envy and more pride if you were more mindful that my efforts to free you, from the domestic cares, have enabled you to devote yourself more freely to your lifes work. I like it when you acknowledge publicly that I deserve credit too!

When I strive for achievements beyond our home, I need your encouragement to grow, Insha-Allah. You can reassure me by supporting my freedom, even if it means less time to spend on the things that make your life comfortable and by showing your delight even when my successes overshadow yours.

I need QUALITY time with you, Insha-Allah!!!

I know your job is demanding, but if you give the best of your energy and all your patience to a job there is little left for me when we're together. Please make an effort to plan time for just us, Insha-Allah. Especially when we are at home, hours when the telephone does not ring or when your not trying to wind down after a hard day, Insha-Allah.

Please don't belittle me, I may stumble as I gain skills in many of the things I learn to do. Insha-Allah, I will learn faster if you let me make my mistakes without telling me how stupid I am or how much better you would have done it. Most of the things you do will be forgotten in a few years anyway, but my confidence will recover more slowly.

If you can not allow me to fail you are not letting me learn to succeed.

Please don't give me mixed messages about my sexuality, Insha-Allah. I am more uncertain about it than you are. Alhamdulillah, I have been raised to believe that men will not respect me if I were openly sexy. Astagh Ferrullah, I get confused when I see you attracted to seductive women, yet critical of me if I seem provacative at home when we're alone. Please trust me and be open with me about sex. Insha-Allah, your caring example will help me overcome my reluctances to do the same.

Please don't pass the ball, and then find fault with me in the way I field it. Criticism coming from you, who are so important to me, washes away my self esteem and leaves me feeling I can't do anything well, that I can do NOTHING well, Astagh Ferrullah. Insha-Allah, you'll see how much more self-confident and productive I am when we both recognize my right to do my task, my way!

If I am rushed and distracted, try not to interpret my actions as rejection or lack of caring. At times, there are pressures that I don't welcome either. When you put other priorities ahead of me, I try to tell myself you have a reason to do so, and that it doesn't mean you don't care for me. Two adults don't need constant reasurrance of each others committment and devotion.

Be careful to say what you mean!

Please don't make outrageous statements that hurt and expect me to forget them or make huge promises that you never carry out, Insha-Allah. I take seriously your order to "get off my back" when you're angry and I look for the flowers you promise to send when you're affectionate.

I still tell myself that people reveal the truth when they're angry, and that unkept promises show sincerity. Even when I try to avoid it, I feel a distancing from the hurtful statemenst and a coldness seeps into the way I relate to you, Astagh Ferrullah.

I love you for the sake of Allah (SWT), so please always remember and trust in Him. Please follow His commandments and do the best that you can do, to be the best Muslim that you can be and I will always love you for the sake of Allah (SWT), Insha-Allah.

    BISM ALLAH

Itz easy 2 want things but 2 do it is HARD.. Now My quiz is do U want 2 go 2 HELL.. If yes then go a head N do Ya thing girl show ya self CAWRA 2 useless ppl N thatz 1 of the bigezt thing a woman has that she should b proud of, LA ILAAHA IL ALLAH..

doNt U know ALLAH SWT SAID

"Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up an dyou see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, - evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, - good-doers), whereas the life of this world is oly a deceiving enjoyment." (Al-Hadid 57:20)

    N

The Prophet (SAW) was lying on a mat, Ibn Masood (RA) began to wipe the effects of the mat from the Prophet's (SAW) body and suggested that he have something better to sleep on. The Prophet's (SAW) reply was:

"What do I have to do with this worldly life? I and this worldly life are but like a traveler who stopped for a little while under a tree to get some shade and then move on."

Narrated Mujahid (RA): Abdullah bin Umar (RU) said, "Allah's Apostle took hold of my shoulder and said,

'Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler."

    Allah (SWT) says:

"O mankind! Verily, the Promise of Allah is true. So let not this present life deceive you, and let not the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah." (Fatir 35:5)

    Allah (SWT) also says:

"Nay, you prefer the life of this world; Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting." (Al-Ghashiyah 87:16-17)

    The Prophet (SAW) said:

"The food of the humans strikes a parable of this worldly life: From what comes out of humans [as waste], even after they had seasoned it and added salt to it [and made it very tasty], look at what it ends up as."

In other words, even though humans work very hard to make the food taste excellent, the food finally results in something that is very disgusting and distasteful. The same is true for this world and all its glitter.

Heres a nice du'a to say and reflect on constanly:

"O the One who Turns the Hearts, confirm my heart upon your deen"

WALLAHI ONE DAY ALL OF YA BODY WILL TALK N SAY U WALK N TALKED LIKE THIS N U WILL SAY Y DO U DO THAT THEY WILL SAY CUZ WE FEAR ALLAH N WE WERE NEVER YOURZ..

"Verily your Lord is ever watchful (over them)." (Al-Fajr 89:14)

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA). The Messenger Muhammad (SAW) said:

"Whoever believes in Allah and the last day should speak good or keep silent."

    According to Quran and Sunnah

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 4:51, Narrated Abu Huraira RA

The Prophet P.B.U.H said, "A place in Paradise as small as the bow or lash of one of you is better than all the world and whatever is in it"

    The Noble Qur'an - Al-Mu'minun 23:8-11

Those who are faithfully true to their trusts and to their covenants; And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) prayers (at their fixed stated hours). These are indeed the inheritors. Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever.

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 4:569, Narrated Abu Huraira RA

Then Allah [swt] will say (to him): 'I have forbidden Paradise for the disbelievers.'

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 6:373, Narrated Abu Huraira RA

The Prophet P.B.U.H said, "Paradise and the Fire (Hell) argued, and the Fire (Hell) said, 'I have been given the privilege of receiving the arrogant and the tyrants.' Paradise said, 'What is the matter with me? Why do only the weak and the humble among the people enter me?' On that, Allah said to Paradise, 'You are My Mercy which I bestow on whoever I wish of my servants.' Then Allah said to the (Hell) Fire, 'You are my (means of) punishment by which I punish whoever I wish of my slaves. And each of you will have its fill.' As for the Fire (Hell), it will not be filled till Allah puts His Foot over it whereupon it will say, 'Qati! Qati!' At that time it will be filled, and its different parts will come closer to each other; and Allah will not wrong any of His created beings. As regards Paradise, Allah will create a new creation to fill it with."

Their utensils will be of gold and their combs of gold and silver; in their centers the aloe wood will be used, and their sweat will smell like musk. Everyone of them will have two wives; the marrow of the bones of the wives' legs will be seen through the flesh out of excessive beauty. They (i.e. the people of Paradise) will neither have differences nor hatred amongst themselves; their hearts will be as if one heart and they will be glorifying Allah in the morning and in the evening."

If he is in Paradise, I shall remain patient, and hope for reward from Allah, but if it is not so, then you shall see what I do?" He said, "May Allah be merciful to you! Have you lost your senses? Do you think there is only one Paradise? There are many Paradises and your son is in the (most superior) Paradise of Al-Firdaus."

The Prophet P.B.U.H said, "The person who participates in (Holy battles) in Allah's cause and nothing compels him to do so except belief in Allah and His Apostles P.B.U.T, will be recompensed by Allah either with a reward, or booty (if he survives) or will be admitted to Paradise (if he is killed in the battle as a martyr). Had I not found it difficult for my followers, then I would not remain behind any sariya going for Jihad and I would have loved to be martyred in Allah's cause and then made alive, and then martyred and then made alive, and then again martyred in His cause."

Hadith - Transmitted by Tirmidhi, Narrated Umm Salamah RA

The Prophet P.B.U.H said: If a woman dies while her husband was pleased with her, she will enter Paradise.

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 8.481, Narrated Sahl bin Sad RA

Allah's Apostle P.B.U.H said, "Whoever can guarantee (the chastity of) what is between his two jaw-bones and what is between his two legs (i.e. his tongue and his private parts), I guarantee Paradise for him."

    --------------------------------------------------

¤Turn your desires to Paradise and not the dunya.

¤Strive to be in the first group of believers to enter Paradise.

¤Memorize the Ninety-nine Names of Allah, subhana watala, making dhikr regularly. Notice, however, that the hadith does not state that the muslim who merely has the Names memorized will enter Paradise, but the muslim who knows the 99 Names. How do you define knows? ... Allahu Alam.

¤Strive to please your parent/husband/wife/Kids and do not be ungrateful.

¤Strictly adhere to the five daily prayers at the fixed times.

¤Only participate in Jihad with a pure heart, and not with the intentions to die, for that can become suicidal, and committing suicide robs you of paradise. Simply do not be afraid to die in the cause of Allah, subhana watala.

///A Wave of Conversion to Islam in the U.S. Following September 11///

Excerpts from "Muslim American Leaders: A Wave of Conversion to Islam in the U.S. Following September 11" © Middle East Media & Research Institute

Muslim American reports in the Arab press indicate that Muslim proselytizing efforts have been unusually successful since the September 11 attacks. 'Alaa Bayumi, Director of Arab Affairs at the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), wrote in the London daily Al-Hayat that "non-Muslim Americans are now interested in getting to know Islam. There are a number of signs...: Libraries have run out of books on Islam and the Middle East... English translations of the Koran head the American best-seller list... The Americans are showing increasing willingness to convert to Islam since September 11... Thousands of non-Muslim Americans have responded to invitations to visit mosques, resembling the waves of the sea [crashing on the shore] one after another... All this is happening in a political atmosphere that, at least verbally, encourages non-Muslim Americans' openness towards Muslims in America and in the Islamic world, as the American president has said many times in his speeches..."(1)

CAIR chairman Nihad Awad told the Saudi paper 'Ukaz that "34,000 Americans have converted to Islam following the events of September 11, and this is the highest rate reached in the U.S. since Islam arrived there."(2)

According to Dr. Walid A. Fatihi, instructor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, Boston has recently become a center of Islamic proselytizing aimed at Christians. On September 22, 2001, Al-Fatihi sent a letter to the Egyptian weekly Al-Ahram Al-Arabi, in which he described the unfolding of events since September 11: "...From the first day, the media began to insinuate that Muslim Arab hands were behind this incident. At noon, the directors and administration of the Islamic Center of Boston held an emergency meeting, and I stayed on the line with them from my clinic. We decided to hold a blood drive, and we set up a committee to contact the Red Cross and organize it for us. We invited the media to cover the event..."

"All of us tried to grab onto every scrap of information that would indicate that Muslim Arab hands were not involved in the loathsome crime. Yes, my brothers and sisters, we tried to prove our humanity on the day we found ourselves attacked from all sides. Our hearts bled and our spokesman said that proselytizing in the name of Allah had been set back 50 years in the U.S. and in the entire world..."

"On Saturday, September 15, I went with my wife and children to the biggest church in Boston, [Trinity Church in] Copley Square, by official invitation of the Islamic Society of Boston, to represent Islam by special invitation of the senators of Boston. Present were the mayor of Boston, his wife, and the heads of the universities. There were more than 1,000 people there, with media coverage by one of Boston's main television stations. We were received like ambassadors. I sat with my wife and children in the front row, next to the mayor's wife. In his sermon, the priest defended Islam as a monotheistic religion, telling the audience that I represented the Islamic Society of Boston."

"After the sermon was over, he stood at my side as I read an official statement issued by the leading Muslim clerics condemning the incident [i.e. the attacks]. The statement explained Islam's stance and principles, and its sublime precepts. Afterwards, I read Koran verses translated into English... These were moments that I will never forget, because the entire church burst into tears upon hearing the passages of the words of Allah!!"

"Emotion swept over us. One said to me: 'I do not understand the Arabic language, but there is no doubt that the things you said are the words of Allah.' As she left the church weeping, a woman put a piece of paper in my hand; on the paper was written: 'Forgive us for our past and for our present. Keep proselytizing to us.' Another man stood at the entrance of the church, his eyes teary, and said, 'You are just like us; no, you are better than us.'" (3)

"On Sunday, September 16, the Islamic Society of Boston issued an open invitation to the Islamic Center in Cambridge, located between Harvard and MIT. We did not expect more than 100 people, but to our surprise more than 1,000 people came, among them the neighbors, the university lecturers, members of the clergy, and even the leaders of the priests from the nearby churches, who invited us to speak on Islam. All expressed solidarity with Muslims. Many questions flowed to us. Everyone wanted to know about Islam and to understand its precepts."

"Of all the questions, not a single one attacked me; on the contrary, we saw [the people's] eyes filling with tears when they heard about Islam and its sublime principles. Many of them had never heard about Islam before. Well, they had heard about Islam only through the biased media. That same day, I was invited again to participate in a meeting in the church, and again I saw the same things. On Thursday, a delegation of 300 students and lecturers from Harvard visited the center of the Islamic Society of Boston, accompanied by the American Ambassador to Vienna. They sat on the floor of the mosque, which was filled to capacity. We explained to them the precepts of Islam, and defended it from any suspicions [promulgated in the media]. I again read to them from the verses of Allah, and [their] eyes filled with tears. The audience was moved, and many asked to participate in the weekly lessons for non-Muslims held by the Islamic Center..."

"On Friday, September 21, the Muslims participated in a closed meeting with the governor of Massachusetts. In the meeting, a discussion was held on introducing Islam into the school curriculum, to inform the [American] people and to fight racism against Muslims arising from the American people's ignorance regarding the religion. With the governor's support, measures to examine implementation of this goal were agreed upon..."

"These are only some of the examples of what happened and is happening in the city of Boston, and in many other American cities, during these days. Proselytizing in the name of Allah has not been undermined, and has not been set back 50 years, as we thought in the first days after September 11. On the contrary, the 11 days that have passed are like 11 years in the history of proselytizing in the name of Allah. I write to you today with the absolute confidence that over the next few years, Islam will spread in America and in the entire world, Allah willing, much more quickly than it has spread in the past, because the entire world is asking, 'What is Islam!'(4)

Fatihi's reports of American Christians' crying upon hearing Koranic verses have an historical context. This type of narrative is about part of the ethos of Islamic proselytizing. It comes from the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad's invitation to the Christian community of Najran, located in what is today North Yemen, to visit the mosque. When the Christians of Najran were exposed to the verses of the Koran, the tradition says they burst into tears and converted to Islam.

Fatihi also published an article in the London daily Al-Hayat:

"...There are initial signs that the intensive campaign of education about Islam has begun to bear fruit. For example, the rate of converts to Islam since September 11 has doubled… There is solidarity with the Muslims on the part of many non-Muslims in American universities. For example, dozens of non-Muslim American women students at Wayne [state] University… have put on veils as a symbol of identification with the Muslim women students at the university and at the other universities of America."

"One of the most important topics [in an NPR broadcast] was an interview with several young women at American universities who recently converted to Islam through the Islamic Society of Boston. They hold advanced degrees from universities in Boston, such as Harvard, and they spoke of the power and the greatness of Islam, of the elevated status of women in Islam, and of why they converted to Islam. The program was broadcast several times across the entire U.S..." (5)

    (3) The phenomenon of sincere Christians shedding tears as they recognize the truth and beauty of Islam is mentioned in the Qur'an:

And thou wilt find the nearest of them in affection to those who believe (to be) those who say: Lo! We are Christians. That is because there are among them priests and monks, and because they are not proud. When they listen to that which hath been revealed unto the messengers, thou seest their eyes overflow with tears because of their recognition of the Truth. They say: Our Lord, we believe. Inscribe us as among the witnesses [Qur'an 5:82-83]
