بسم الله الرØمن الرØيم الØمد لله والصلاة والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله وبعد الســــــــــ عليكم ورØمه الله وبركاته ــــــــــــــــــلام Good Deed that will lead to Hell Ibn al-Qayyim (r.a.) - Al-Waabilus-Sayyib minal-Kalimit-Tayyib ( p. 15) One of the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) said: "Indeed a servant commits a sin by which he enters Paradise; and another does a good deed by which he enters the Fire." It was asked: How is that? So he replied: "The one who committed the sin, constantly thinks about it; which causes him to fear it, regret it, weep over it and feel ashamed in front of his Lord - the Most High - due to it. He stands before Allaah, broken-hearted and with his head lowered in humility. So this sin is more beneficial to him than doing many acts of obedience, since it caused him to have humility and humbleness - which leads to the servant's happiness and success - to the extent that this sin becomes the cause for him entering Paradise. As for the doer of good, then he does not consider this good a favour from his Lord Upon him. Rather, he becomes arrogant and amazed with himself, saying: I have achieved such and such, and such and such . So this further increases him in self adulation, pride and arrogance - such that this becomes the cause for his destruction." Fe Aman Allah

BissmeAllah W Salato W Salamo Cala Rasool Ellah Ama ba'ad Asalam Alaikom WarhmatuAllah Wbaraktuh How Might One Obtain Ikhlaas? Imam Ibn ul Qayyim al Jawziyyah Ikhlaas cannot coexist in a heart which [embraces] the love of praise and commendation, [nor] the yearning [to obtain] that which is possessed amongst the people, save in the [manner] that fire and water, or a lizard and fish may coexist. If your soul informs you to quest for Ikhlaas, turn first towards your yearning and slaughter it with a knife [in a state] of desperation. Then turn [in a state of] asceticism upon praise and commendation, the asceticism of the [one] who loved the Dunya for the sake of the Hereafter. If your quest in the [act] of slaughtering the yearning, and [the acquisition of] asceticism [against] praise and commendation is successful, your [journey] shall be facilitated in your [quest] for Ikhlaas. If it is mentioned: What may facilitate the [act] of slaughtering the yearning and the [development] of asceticism [against] the praise and commendation? I say: The method of facilitating the [act] of slaughtering the yearning: Your definitive knowledge that there is no matter [present] that awakens one’s greed for, save the worship of Allah alone, and the Treasures which He alone possesses. For no individual can furnish the slave with [those Treasures] save He. The method of facilitating the [development] of asceticism [against] praise and commendation: Your knowledge that there is no individual who can [confer] benefit upon or beautify his praise, [nor] inflict damage upon or disgrace his vilification, save Allah alone. As the bedouin said to the Prophet, sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam: My praise [has been] embellished, and indeed my vilification [has been] disgraced. The Prophet sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam remarked: That is Allah. [Tirmidhi 3266, Kitab Tafseer al-Qur’an, Declared Saheeh] Accordingly, be ascetic for praise [and] the one who is incapable of beautifying his praise for you. [And] for vilification [and] the one who is incapable of disgracing his vilification for you. Be desirous for the One who is absolute in the embellishment of His praise, and is absolute in the tarnishment of His vilification. For none shall acquire that, save with patience and certainty, and when you have forfeited patience and certainty, you are comparable to the one who desired to journey across a sea without [the aid] of a vessel. Allah has mentioned: Be patient. Verily the promise of Allah is true, and let not those who are devoid of certainty in faith discourage you from conveying [Allah’s Message]. [Ar-Rum: 60] We have made from amongst them leaders, guiding under One Command, when they were patient and believed in Our Signs with certainty. [As-Sajdah: 24] Fe Aman Allah

Cessation of the sin. 2. Regret and remorse of the heart. 3. Firm resolve not to return to the sin. 4. Returning the right of the oppressed, in that which is particular to the rights of man. How is Salaat-us-Taubah Performed? Alee (Rd) who said that Aboo Bakr (Rd) told him that he heard the Messenger of Allaah (Peace and blessings be upon him) say: There is no servant who commits a sin and then he purifies himself (wudoo') and then prays two rakaahs and then seeks forgiveness of Allaah except that Allaah forgives him. [Ahmad, Aboo dawood eng trans. Vol. 1 #1516 and others] The Noble Qur'an - Az-Zumar 39:54 And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islâmic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him, (in Islâm), before the torment comes upon you, then you will not be helped. * Be quick to repent. * Be sincere in your Taubah (prayer of repentance) and remember that the Taubah is not sincere nor complete if you do not turn away from the evil deed and then take actions of reparation with the offended Muslim. I just had to add this one as I love it so much Jamharah Khutah al-‘Arab, 1/145 ‘Abd al-Malik (RA) said: “When ‘Awf ibn Muhallim al-Shaybani, one of the most highly respected leaders of the Arab nobility during the jahiliyyah, married his daughter Umm Iyas to al-Harith ibn ‘Amr al-Kindi, she was made ready to be taken to the groom, then her mother, Umamah came into her, to advise her and said: ‘O my daughter, if it were deemed unnecessary to give you this advice because of good manners and noble descent, then it would have been unnecessary for you, because you posses these qualities, but it will serve as a reminder to those who are forgetful, and will help those who are wise. ‘O my daughter, if a woman were able to do without a husband by virtue of her father’s wealth and her need for her father, then you of all people would be most able to do without a husband, but women were created for men just as men were created for them. ‘O my daughter, you are about to leave the home in which you grew up, where you first learned to walk, to go to a place you do not know, to a companion to whom you are unfamiliar. By marrying you, he has become a master over you, so be like a servant to him, and he will become like a servant to you. ‘Take from me ten qualities, which will be a provision and a reminder for you. ‘The first and second of them are: be content in his company, and listen to and obey him, for contentment brings peace of mind, and listening to and obeying one’s husband pleases Allah. ‘The third and fourth of them are: make sure that you smell good and look good; he should not see anything ugly in you, and he should not smell anything but a pleasant smell from you. Kohl is the best kind of beautification to be found, and water is better than the rarest perfume. ‘The fifth and sixth of them are: prepare his food on time, and keep quiet when he is asleep, for raging hunger is like a burning flame, and disturbing his sleep will make him angry. ‘The seventh and eight of them are: take care of his servants (or employees) and children, and take care of his wealth, for taking care of his wealth shows that you appreciate him, and taking care of his children and servants shows good management. ‘The ninth and tenth of them are: never disclose any of his secrets, and never disobey any of his orders, for if you disclose any of his secrets you will never feel safe from his possible betrayal, and if you disobey him, his heart will be filled with hatred towards you. ‘Be careful, O my daughter, of showing joy in front of him when he is upset, and do not show sorrow in front of him when he is happy, because the former shows a lack of judgment whilst the latter will make him unhappy. ‘Show him as much honour and respect as you can, and agree with him as much as you can, so that he will enjoy your companionship and conversation. ‘Know, O my daughter, that you will not achieve what you would like to until you put his pleasure before your own, and his wishes before yours, in whatever you like and dislike. sallamu calykum SALMAAN AL-FAARISI ”SALMAAN INNAGA AYUU INAGA MID YAHAY HADDEYNU NAHAY AHLU-BEYTKA” XADDIIS Udub-dhexaadka Sheekada Salmaan Al-Faarisi waxay ku soo wareeganaysaa sheekadiisii la xiriirtay waddooyinkii iyo dhibaatooyinkii uu u soo maray diinta xaqa ah. Waa sheekadii saxaabigii raad-raacayay xaqiiqada iyo diinta xaqa ah. Sida aan gebeggabada sheekada Salmaan ku arki doonno, wuxuu Rasuulka (scw) jeclaan jiray inuu maqlo sheekadii uu ku soo islaamay Salmaan Al-Faarisi. Maalintii uu Salmaan Al-Faarisi soo islaamayay, uuna sheekadiisa u sheegay Rasuulka (scw), wuxuu markale Rasuulka (scw) Salmaan ka codsaday inuu dib danbe sheekadiisa uga sheekeeyo asxaabta. Marka qiimahaas iyo wanaaggaas weyninka badan ayeey leedahay sheekada saxaabigan la yiraahdo Salmaan Al-Faarisi. Bal inta aanan meel kaleba aadin, aynu laf-ahaantiisa u deyno sheekada si uu noogu warramo waxyaabihii uu la kulmay kahor intuusan islaamin. Salmaan isagoo ka warramaya sheekadiisa wuxuu yiri: Waxaan ahaa wiil dhalinyaro ah, waxaan degganaa degmada Jayyan ee gobolka Al-Isbihaan. Aabahay wuxuu ahaa guddoomiyaha degmada, dhinaca kalena wuxuu ka mid ahaa dadka deggan degmada kuwa ugu hantida badan uguna magac dheer. Aabahay aad ayuu ii jeclaa. Jaceylkii uu sidaas ii jeclaa ayaa waxaa maalintii danbe ay gaartay inuu igu xabbiso guriga, sida gabdhahaba loogu hayo guryaha. Waxaan ku dadaalay ku dhaqanka diinta majuusiyadda (diinta la caabudo dabka ama qoraxda), jeer aan markii danbe ku fiicnaaday hurinta dabkii la caabuday, waxaana la ii xil-saaray inaan noqdo huriyaha dabka. Aabahay wuxuu lahaa aseendo (beer) aad u weyn, beertaas ayuuna aabahay aalaaba ka shaqeyn jiray. Mar mararka ka mid ah ayaa wuxuu aabahay ka mashquulay aadistii beerta, sidaa darteed ayaa wuxuu igu yiri: ”wiilkaygiyoow maanta waad aragtaa inaan ka mashquulay aadista beerta, ee waxaad aaddaa beertii oo igala wareeg maanta shaqadii beerta”. Waan tagey annigoo u jeeda beerta. Intii aan waddada socday ayaa waxaan waddada dhexdeeda ku arkay kaniisad ka mid ah kaniisadaha ay ku cibaadaystaan Nasaarada (kirishtaanka). Waxaa dhagahayga soo gaaray dhawaaqoodii iyagoo cibaadaysanaya, arrinkaasna wuxuu soo jiitay baraarugayga. Horey uma aanan aqoonin diinta kirishtaanka, taasina waxaa ugu wacnayd iyadoo uu aabahay uu igu xabisay guriga. Markii aan maqlay codkoodii isla markiiba waan u galay bal si aan u arko waxa ay sameenayaan. Markii aan aad u raad-raacay waxa ay sameenayaan ayaa waxaan jeclaystay salaadihii ay tukanayeen, diintoodiina waan jeclaystay waxaana naftayda ku iri: ” wallaahi diintani ayaa ka kheyr badan diinta aynu haysano, wallaahi ayaan ku dhaartaye kama aanan soo tegin ilaa ay qoraxdii ka dhacday oo sidaas ayaanan ku aadin beertii”. Intaa dabadeed waxaan dadkii weydiiyay, meesha iyo xarunta ay ka soo jeeddo diintan, waxayna iigu jawaabeen dhulka Shaam. Habeenkii markii la gaaray ayaa waxaan ku noqday gurigeenii, waxaana ila kulmay aabahay isagoo i weydiiyay meeshii aan ku maqnaa, waxaana ku iri: ”aabe, waxaan maanta soo ag maray dad ku cibaadaysanayay Kaniisad ay lahaayeen, waxaana jeclaystay qaabkii ay u cibaadaysanayeen, iyaga ayaana iskala joogay ilaa ay qoraxdii ka dhacday”. Aabahay aad ayuu arrinkii aan iri uga argagaxay, wuxuuna igu yiri: ”wiilkaygiyoow diintaas aad sheegtay wax kheyr ay leedahay ma jirto, diintaada iyo diinta ay haysan jireen awoowayaashaa ayaa ka kheyr badan diintan”, annigana waxaan ku iri, maya-wallaahi-diintooda ayaa ka kheyr badan tan aynu hadda haysanno. Hadalkan danbe, aabahay wuu cabsi geliyay, wuxuuna ka cabsaday inaan ka laabto diinta aan haysto, sidaa darteed wuxuu igu xabbisay guriga isagoo labada lugoodna iga dabray. Maalin maalmaha ka mid ah ayaa waxaa ii suurto gashay inaan dibadda u baxsado, dabadeedna waxaan u imid dad haysta diinta Nasaarada, waxaana ku iri: haddii ay magaallada yimaadaan dad socoto ah oo u socda Gobolka Shaam fadlan ila soo socodsiiya. Wax yar kamaba soo wareegan jeer ay magaaladii yimaadaan dad socoto ahaa oo u socday Shaam. Markii la ii sheegay dadkaas ayaa waxaan iska fur-furay dabarkii lugahayga ku xirnaa, sidiina ayaan ku raacay dadkii socotada ahaa. Markii aynu nimid Shaam ayaa waxaan dadkii weydiiyay ninka ugu fadliga badan ee ka mid ah dadka haysta diinta Kirishtaanka, waxaana la ii tilmaamay wadaad ka shaqaynayay Kaniisad laguna magacaabo ”Al-usquf”. Ninkii ayaan u imid, waxaana ku iri, waxaan jeclaystay diinta Kirishtaanka, sidaa darteed waxaan doonayaa inaan kuu noqdo adeege/khaadim oo aan kuu shaqeeyo, dhinaca kalena aan kaa faa’iideysto kulana tukado salaadaha. Ninkii wadaadka ahaa arrinkii wuu iga oggolaaday, sidiina ayaan shaqaale ugu noqday. Muddo markay ka soo wareegatay wakhtigaas ayaa waxaan ogaaday inuu ninku ahaa nin aan fiicnayn. Waxaan ogaaday inuu dadku amri jiray inay saddaqaystaan; isagoo intaa u raacin jiray ajarka iyo xasanaadka ay leedahay in lala baxo saddaqada. Dadkii markii ay hantidooda ka saddaqaystaana meeshii uu masaakiinta ka siin lahaa, isaga ayaa keyd ahaan u dhigan jiray maalkaas ilaa uu maalkii ay buuxiyaan toddobo ashuumood oo dahab ah. Si daran ayaa ninkii wadaadka ahaa uga carooday, waxyaabihii aan wanaagsanayn ee aan ku arkay awgeed. Wax yar kama soo wareegan jeer uu maalintii ninkii wadaadka ahaa ka dhinto, waxaana aaskiisii isugu yimid dadkii Nasaarada (Kirishtaanka) ahaa, waxaana ku iri hadaladan: ”Ninkan saaxiibkiina ah wuxuu ahaa nin xun, wuxuu idin fari jiray inaad la baxdaan saddaqo, isagoo arrinkaana idinku boorrin jiray. Hase yeeshee, markaad maalkiina ka saddaqaysataan naftiisa ayuu keyd ahaan ugu dhigan jiray, masaakiintana waxna kama siin jirin!”. Dadkii ayaa hadalkii la yaabay, waxayna igu yiraahdeen: ”Halkeed ka ogaatay hadalkan?!”. Waxaan ku iri, annigaa idin tusaya kaasafoortadii uu ku keydsan jiray maalkaas. Waxay yiraahdeen: ”haa-oo-na tusi”. Waxaan tusiyay meeshii uu maalka ku keydsan jiray, waxayna meeshii ka soo saareen toddobo ashuumood oo laga buuxiyay dahab iyo lacag. Markii ay arkeen dahabkii iyo lacagtii faraha badnayd ayaa waxay soo saareen go’aan tilmaamaya inaanan la aasin ninkii wadaadka ahaa, waxayna yiraahdeen: ”wallaahi aasi mayno”, iyagoo intaa kadib daldalay waxayna isagoo meyd ah ku garaaceen dhagaxyo. Wakhti dheer kama soo wareegan jeer booskii ninka wadaadka ahaa looga caleemo saaro nin kale. Ninkan cusub ayaan markale laasimay agtiisa. Ma aan arag nin ka adduunyo neceb, kana aakhiro jecel ninkan, dhinaca kalena kaga daa’imid badan xagga cibaadada. Si aan xad lahayn ayaan u jeclaystay, isaga ayaana in muddo ahba iskala joogay. Ninkii ayaan u kicitimay, waxaana uga warramay sheekadayda, intaa dabadeedna wuxuu igu yiri: anniga ayaad ila joogaysaa. Sidiina ayaana ula noolaa ninkaas, wallaahi wuxuu ku tilmaamnaa hanuunkii ay ku sugnaayeen saaxiibadiisa kale. Hanti iyo maal ayaan kasbaday intii aan ninkan la joogay, waxaana haystay lo’ iyo xeyn arri ah.. Intaa dabadeed ninkii waxaa u timid geeridii u timid asxaabtiisii hore oo kale, markay u timid sakaraatkii ayaa waxaan ku iri, adiga waad og tahay amarkayga iyo xaalkayga sida uu yahay, sidaa darteed adi-ahaantaa yaad ii dardaarmi lahayd gadaashaa inaan diinta ka barto, dhinaca kalena maxaan sameeyaa? . SaLLaMu caLLyKuM The Status Of Two Who Love One Another For The Sake Of Allah By Dr. Muhammad Ali Al-Hashimi Many hadith describe the status of two people who love one another for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala), and describe the high position in Paradise which He has promised them and the great honour which He will bestow upon them on the Day when mankind is resurrected to meet the Rabb of the Worlds: Among them is the hadith which describes the seven whom Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) will shade on the Day when there is no shade but His: "...a just leader; a youth who grows up worshipping Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala); a man who is deeply attached to the mosque; two men who love one another for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala), meeting for His sake and parting for His sake; a man who is called by a beautiful woman and says, I fear Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala)'; a man who gives charity in secret such that his left hand does not know what his right hand is doing; and a man who remembers Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) when he is alone and his eyes fill with tears." (Bukhari and Muslim) The two who love one another for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) are clearly shown to be among those whom Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) will shelter with His shade and upon whom He will shower His mercy and kindness. What a great honour! It is enough honour for those who love one another for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala that their Almighty Rabb will greet them on the Day of Resurrection and say to them: "Where are those who loved one another for My glory? Today I will shade them in My shade on the Day when there is no shade but Mine." (Muslim) Such is the magnificent honour and tremendous reward that will be bestowed upon those who truly loved one another for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala), on that awesome Day. Love for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala), and not for the sake of anything else in this life which is filled with greed, desires and interests, is very difficult, and none can attain it except the one who is pure of heart, for whom this world is as nothing compared to the pleasure of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala). It is not surprising that Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) should give them a status and blessing which is commensurate with their position in this world, above whose concerns they have risen. We find proof of this in the hadith of Mu'adh who said that the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) said: 'Those who love one another for My glory, will have minbars of light, and the Prophets and martyrs will wish that they had the same." [Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said it is a hasan sahih hadith] Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) gives to those who love one another for His sake a gift which is even greater than this status and blessing: that is His precious love which is very difficult to attain. This is proven by the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (radhiallahu `anhu) in which the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "A man went to visit a brother of his in another village. Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) sent an angel to wait for him on the road. When the man came along, the angel asked him, 'Where do you intend to go?' He said, 'I am going to visit a brother of mine who lives in this village.' The angel asked, 'Have you done him any favour (for which you are now seeking repayment)?' He said, 'No. I just love him for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala).' The angel told him, I am a messenger to you from Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala), sent to tell you that He loves you as you love your brother for His sake."' (Muslim) What a great love, that raises a man to a position where Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) loves him and is pleased with him! The teaching of the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) goes even further and states that the better of two brothers who love one another for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) is the one who loves his brother more. The Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "No two men love one another, but the better of them is the one whose love for his brother is greater." [Reported by Bukhari in al-Adab al-Mufrad] Islam goes even further in spreading love in the rightly guided Muslim society by telling the Muslim that if he loves his brother, he should tell him. The Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "If a man loves his brother, let him tell him that he loves him." [Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who said it is a sahih hadith] The Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) understood the impact of this strong, pure love in building societies and nations, so he never let any occasion pass without advocating this love and commanding the Muslims to announce their love for one another, in order to open hearts and spread love and purity among the ranks of the Ummah. Anas (radhiallahu `anhu) said that a man was with the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam), when another man passed by. The first man said, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed I truly love this man." The Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) asked him, "Have you let him know that?" He said, "No." The Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said, "Tell him." He caught up with him and told him, "Truly I love you for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala)," and the man said, "May Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) love you who loves me for His sake." [Reported by Abu Dawud, with a sahih isnad] Mu'adh began to spread this pure love among the Muslims throughout the Muslim lands, telling them what he had heard from the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) about the great reward that Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) had prepared for those who loved one another for His sake, and about His great love for them. In al-Muwatta', Imam Malik gives a report with a sahih isnad from Abu Idris al-Khulani who said: "I entered the mosque of Damascus, where I saw a young man who had a bright smile, and I saw the people gathered around him. When they disagreed on some matter, they referred it to him, and accepted his opinion. I asked who he was, and they told me, 'This is Mu'adh ibn Jabal (radhiallahu `anhu)." Early the next day, I went to the mosque but I found that he had arrived even earlier than I. He was praying, so I waited until he had finished, then I approached him from in front, greeted him and said, 'By Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) I love you.' He said, 'For the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala)?' I said, 'For the sake of Allah'. He repeated his question, 'For the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala)?' and I said, 'For the sake of Allah.' So he took hold of my collar and pulled me towards him and said, 'I have good news for you. I heard the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) say: "Allah Almighty says: 'My love is granted to those who love one another for My sake, who visit one another for My sake, and who spend on one another for My sake.'"'
