  1. Staying in Somalia doesn't prove anything about the man's convictions. There are thousands like him who stayed behind. What matters is whether he stayed because he found his best life opportunities at home or whether he sacrificed better opportunities abroad to stay put. We don't know that, and therefore we can not get overboard with this sentimental 'man of the people' mantra. Still, he is good person, I am told and that is enough. But to carve a saint out of this man is not fair. What if he was at home because that is where his skill set kept him? Would he have turned down an African Development Bank job in Tunis or a UN post in Geneva? I am not suggesting he wouldn't, but....please!

It is a bit of shame and pity that the whole fate of the Somali nation is hinged on the whims of a fatally fraudulent old man, with dour history. Indeed a man with a history pockmarked by so many disgraces, including leading a raid on a bank among other things. Somalis will ultimately get past this political piracy, but we feel it is time Puntland makes the transition from reprehensible to responsible leadership . The time has arrived and General Duke agrees. PL deserves better than the fingerless.
  3. I agree with Timur. Saado is on the top league when it comes to this patriotim, but then again she is a Darwiish and we know those people.
  4. Not overly qualified, but the man somalia wanted for sure. He didnot run when things were bad. He stayed behind and that is the key. He knows the issues Somalia is facing from his own experience.
  5. she didn't say fa.qash, she said Drd. And since Drd's are also somalis, that makes magool unpatriotic~
  6. I didn't say there aren't weeds. That would be unnatural. What we know is Xalimo Khalif Magool and Indha-cadde aren't the most patriotic somalis. :D Maaddeey, is sheikh Hassan coming in now that his nemsis Sharif is out! I thought his jihad was about ego?
  7. I am assuming Dhudub and Yamaarugle!
  8. Ok, I know Che thinks this is wrong! Che, your community is also in! Afterall, we are the same. Happy now?
  9. I said my community can be given the Ministry of Milk or the Directorship of Refugees commision if you want, but there is no chance they will sulk or get unhappy. I have been getting calls from elated members of the community and there is no talk of "what is our share", "who is the PM going to be", "we will seceed if not given big portfolios", "we should get this or that" but an overwhelming joy that Somalis are happy and Somalia is going forward. They may be the gypsies of the horn, Galeano's nobodys, but for sure the most patriotic somali clan. I am proud to be from this community whose world revolves around the notion of Somalinimo and who are dying to uphold the dignity of Somalis. Last week, the Tigre's, for the first time in 21 years, met somalis who are not kowtowing to them, somalis who looked at them sternly without the need to blink when the Tigre's look back. It was a moment of pride for all Somalis for the Tigre's to know that Somalis are not all about Faroole, or Siilanyo or Iley or Sheikh Sharif. There are dignified men who can talk to them like equal partners. Back to Somalia, you will not hear a sulking man from this community even if they don't get any big docket. Hail the big-footed men of honour! :D
  10. Tillamock, Abdiweli is more qualified than Hassan Sheikh so that isn't an issue. Also, really, we are not ranking academicians, to elect a PM. Ofcourse, the 4.5 system means merit is out of the window. PL is one of the clan consittuencies that will get the PM, and if you ask me, I have no problem if they nominate Abdiweli or someone else. My point is the PM must be from PL, and if that is the case, why not keep Abdiweli?! I am honestly concerned about reconcilliation in Somalia more than anything. If the istunka farmers are happy, and the PL noise-makers are happy, we are potentially left with only one more problem to deal with: Maaddeey's anarhcists, as potential spoilers. They should be given a big post but the Foriegn Minister should be Prof Samatar! My own community can take the Director of Milk Factory or the refugree affairs if they want. I don't care. The next project for me in SOL is to finish off Faroole and the remanants of the old warlord and fawdo order like Qaybdiid. Only that can bring Somalia back. And then we will deal with the urinating Feysal Cali Waraabe and ilk! Somaliyeey toossoo!
  11. Abdiweli is not the President. That would have aliented the farming community. It is fine if he is the PM. He is all that I said he is, but the check and balance in Jawaari and Hassan means he will not be as distrubtive as he would have been if elected president. Also, for me national reconcilliation is the key and if the PL's are going to sulk, it wouldn't be a good start for the country. That is what I considered. Obviously I would rate Samatar over Abdiweli but it is is unseemly since the new president will most likely pick a D-block PM. The only D-block group that can forsake Somalia's progress because their constituency didn't get a big post is the PL contingent. Therefore, ha la iska siiyo si mucaaradnimo iyo cagjiid ayna meesha ula iman. Again, kala saara cadhada aan Abdiweli kula dhacnay markay Duke iyo tuugta PL ee SOL sanka naga marmariyeen sidii u yahay the only solution to Somalia. He is shallow academically but still stronger than the new president in that field. We were comparing him to Samatar and the likes but he is an intellectual on his own right. You said it, I am an emotional person and while you may see the negative in being such, but it also shows my other side which is that I am not headstrong who clutchs on things just because I once said it. So, I am emotional, but flexible and reasonable too. I was really happy with the grace and dignity of Abdiweli while the vote-casting was ongoing. The man was dignified through this adverstity and I saw a man who has pride, a rare commodity in the current breed of Somali politicians. Also, I think Abdiweli's cabinet is not bad really but can be improved even more now because the godfather of warlords and zealots Sharif is out! Abdiweli M Ali for PM, or if not him another Puntlander. Afterall, if Farmajo's conmmunity doesn't get it, the worst that can happen is Abwaan will leave SOL or issue threats against us online. But if PL gets upset, then they can become a real pain for the president.
  12. Now that we have an intellectual President from the farming community of Mogadishu, and an equally educated speaker, it would be fair if the prime minister is given to Abdiweli Mohamed Ali. I have no problem with that and infact admired the dignity of Abdiweli in today's election. Afterall, Somalia is what matters and I can break the news that the overwhelming favourite for the PM position is Abdiweli Mohamed Ali. Just got that info from insiders.
  13. Thanks Duke! All along I was saying we need enlightened leadership. Faroole is anything but that!
  14. Sheikh Sharif is making his acceptance speech. So far, so good. He is evidently shell-shocked!
  15. IT IS A LANDSLIDE. The era of ignorant leadership is over, the era of enlighted leaders starts! Farole's demise to follow!
  16. Boys, this is a done deal! The AIRBORNE president is history. Now, he will have to focus on drafting schedule for his nights with the four wives after taking a bit of time to analyze their menustration cycles! This is going to be a landslide! Don't worry.
  17. Pretty sure Hassan will win. The MPs agreed to sing wa-shamsi on Sharif. I keep my hair because Abdiweli is finished.
  18. no, uchi! but I want Somalia to move forward and Sharif and Abdiweli are not the people who can do that! Plus, Hassan is a good man.
  19. We have the President and it couldn't have been a better man! Sharif 63 Xassan 59 Abdiweli 30 Osoble 28 Whether Puntland seceds or Farole fingers his concubines, this is a good news for Somalia!
  20. loool qalimaanta yayna xildhibaanadu isku ilaawin! soomalidu waxba ma xadee way isku iloowdaa uun!
  21. Really sad. Even kids in prep school don't need that much reminding to just shut up and listen! I think discipline is a harmful traditional practice in Somalia, something that all citizens must shun! It has nothing to do with being a Somali. Afterall, Somalis in kenya and Ethiopia are also of the same lineage but behave differently. It is those from proper Somalia who are most disgusting. Chairing a Somalia-Somalis meeting is like herding cats, really. SHAMEFUL! Also why can't they just organise their events just a little bit better? See the tables the speaker and the ballot box are sittting on! It is what cheap tearooms serve tea and coffee.
  22. No, Mooge, what you here abolut Abdiweli is not true. But then you really listen only to yourself!
