    Beauty

Light breaks through the darkest part Beauty to soften the hardest heart Like second nature, I'd shy away Beauty, like gravity, pulled me to stay Drifting at sea in storms of the past Beauty, the anchor, now holds me fast Where have I been What have I done To deserve such beauty Like the light of the sun If lovers are dreamers, I walk in my sleep A heart of gold seemed impossible to keep For gold melts quickly exposed to the fire But beauty protects by want and desire If the question unanswered, "what's in a name" Then beauty and yours are one in the same Where can I go What can I do To hold onto the beauty ... I find in you

    My love

My love is like an ocean It goes down so deep My love is like a rose Whose beauty you want to keep. My love is like a river That will never end My love is like a dove With a beautiful message to send. My love is like a song That goes on and on forever My love is like a prisoner It's to you that I surrender.
  4. My love is like a fever, still longing, For that which feeds the disease, Feeding on that which prolongs the illness, All to please the unhealthy desires of the body. My reason, love's doctor, Angry that I do not follow his directions, Has left me, and desperate I find that desire Leads to death, which physic (reason) will not allow. Now reason is past caring, now I am past cure, And I am frantic with continual unrest; My thoughts and my words are like a madman's, Lies foolishly uttered; For I thought you were moral and bright (shining as a star), But you really are black as hell and dark as night.

    Remember

Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you plann'd: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards Remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad.
  6. One day I wrote her name on my hand, But then came the sweat and eroded it away. Again, I wrote, but upon the land. But it was swept away by the winds-- --No more to stay No way can I figure Earth to tame. For upon the stars I'll write your glorious name. When as death shall all my world subdue. My life was filled with the joy-- --of loving you.
