  1. The Secret

One day, one friend asked another,

"How is it that you are always so happy?

    You have so much energy,

and you never seem to get down."

With her eyes smiling, she said,

    "I know the Secret!"

    "What secret is that?"

    To which she replied,

"I'll tell you all about it,

but you have to promise to

    share the Secret with others."

    "The Secret is this:

I have learned there is little I can do

in my life that will make me truly happy.

I must depend on God to make

me happy and to meet my needs.

When a need arises in my life,

I have to trust God to supply

    according to HIS riches.

I have learned most of the time

I don't need half of what I think I do.

He has never let me down.

Since I learned that 'Secret', I am happy."

    The questioner's first thought was,

    "That's too simple!"

But upon reflecting over his own life

he recalled how he thought a bigger house

would make him happy, but it didn't!

He thought a better paying job

would make him happy, but it hadn't.

When did he realize his greatest happiness?

Sitting on the floor with his grandchildren,

playing games, eating pizza or reading a story,

    a simple gift from God.

    Now you know it too!

We can't depend on people to make us happy.

Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that.

    Trust HIM!

And now I pass the Secret on to you!

So once you get it, what will you do?

YOU have to tell someone the Secret, too!

That GOD in His wisdom will take care of YOU!

But it's not really a secret...

We just have to believe it and do it...

    Really trust God

  2. Question: What is the truest definition of

    Globalization?

    Answer: Princess Diana's death.

    Question: How come?

    Answer: An English princess

    With an Egyptian boyfriend

    Crashes in a French tunnel,

    Driving a German car

    With a Dutch engine,

    Driven by a Belgian

Who was drunk on Scottish whisky,

    Followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,

    On Japanese motorcycles,

    Treated by an American doctor,

    Using Brazilian medicines!

And a Tanzanian sends this to you,

    Using Bill Gates' technology,

And you're probably reading this on one of the IBM

    Clones,

    That use Taiwanese-made chips,

    And a Korean-made monitor,

    Assembled by Bangladeshi workers

    In a Singapore plant,

    Transported by lorries

    Driven by Indians,

    Hijacked by Indonesians,

    Unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen,

    Trucked by Mexican illegally,

    And finally sold to you.

    That, my friends, is Globalization!

  3. There was once an Indian man called Raj who was involved in a car accident.

At the hospital, when he awoke, he called for the nurse to tell him what had happened to him.

"I'm very sorry, sir, but you were involved in a very bad car crash".

"Car crash! My BMW! my BM! is my car all right?" he asked hysterically.

"Sir, your car was destroyed, but that is the least of your worries you lost your left arm in the crash, and we were unable to save it he said apologetically.

"I lost my arm? My Rolex! My Rolex!"

"Sir, please calm down. That is the least of your worries. You are in a very critical condition, but all your family is here to see you".

He asked for his family to be called in.

As they gathered around the bed, he called for each of them by name.

"Rehka, are you here?" I am here husband, and I will never leave you".

"Govind, are you here?" "I am here father, and I will never leave you".

"Kajal, are you here?" "I am here father, and I will never leave you."

“Sunny, my child, are you here?" "I am here father, and I will never leave you."

"Well," said Raj thoughtfully, "if Rehka, Govind, Kajal and Sunny are here – if all of you are here, WHO THE HELL IS IN THE SHOP ?!!!!"

  5. WHERE IS THAT 'MUSLIM'?

The search is on for that 'Muslim' of yesteryear who has become one of the endangered species. He was indeed a paragon of virtue.

    He was someone :

    *whose name was envied.

    *whose promise was fulfilled

    *whose reliabilty was unquestionable and

    *whose word was his honour.

Any dealings with him required no sureties, no suspicions, no signatures, no agreements, no fear of any sort. His offers were golden opportunities sought by all and sundry. Indeed, his word was a gilt-edged SECURITY.

Today alas, another species has taken his place. He assumes the same name, proudly calling himself, 'Muslim'- the modern version of course and is so easy to recognise:

He is a polite and convincing sweet talker.

He is highly 'knowledgeable' on all topics.

He issues high denomination cheques made of refined rubber.

His payments are ever-due, overdue and never due.

He is a regular guest of honour of the attorneys.

His apparel comprises a variety of law suits.

He is very holy due to searching for loopholes in documents.

He drives all your flashy cars.

He is a jack of all trades, master of high jacking.

He is a modern dragon who devours the containers of merchants.

He is a kind of Robin Hood who fleeces even the poor.

He 'preys' more than five times a day.

He is very helpful in distributing your Zakaat for you.

He is very FAST to repeat SEHRI and IFTAAR during the days of Ramadhan.

He guides his victims to perform Haj and Umrah.

He makes it his duty to import without any import duty.

He sells at half-price, subsidized by his suppliers.

He performs miracles, selling non-existing objects.

He takes a lot of interest in financial matters.

Unlike other nations of the world, past and present, the Muslim' duty on earth is prescribed in the Quraan by Allah: ' O Muslims! You are the best nation, that has been choosen for the guidance of other nations; you command people with the virtue, and prevent them from vice, and have a firm faith in Allah'. Another warning appears thus in the Quraan: ' O you who beleive! Observe your duty to Allah with right observance, and die not except as those who have surrendered(unto Him).' The message is clear. It is now up to us to take our rightful place in society and fulfill the duty assigned to us by Allah Himself.

  6. Can you defend Islam??

    by Sis. Erum Marfani (Erum571@aol.com)

    Asslamu alaikum,

How many of us want to go into some professional career? Doctors, lawyers, educators, counsellors, business, or anything else? Did you know that many Muslims are left out of social, political, religious and philosophical discussions because they just don't compare. They don't know what Islam has to say. If some co-worker or boss or even now a teacher or another student starts questioning u about Islam, will u be able to give a thorough and right answer? Do u have that much knowledge? Or what if someone starts bashing Islam? Can you defend it; CAN YOU PROVE THEM WRONG????

It's a personal experience, I’ve had it happen to me, where teachers and other students have started to question Islam, then have started to grill me to prove me wrong, or "reject my faith." (although they have never said it, but you can tell by tone of voice). Mostly, I can give the answer, but sometimes, I get stuck, I feel so embarrassed, and then they think they've got me, but sometimes I come back the next day and give them an answer. But, I know, that sometime in your life, it will happen to you. Someone, somewhere will say or ask, and you have to stand up for what is right: YOU HAVE TO STAND UP FOR ISLAM!!!! Because if you don't, who will???

So, do you want to know how you can get the knowledge? Read the Quran, not only read but also study it, read the meaning and commentary. Take 10 minutes out of the 1,440 minutes of the day, and just read 5 verses with meaning and commentary. Think about it, and try to remember it. Do the same with hadith: alternate, do 5 minutes one thing, 5 minutes another, do whatever is good for you, BUT JUST DO SOMETHING!!!

Did you know that the Quran discusses Christianity as it is today? Yep, read Surat Maidah (surah #5). Read how Prophet Isa will be questioned on the Day of Judgement, and how he says that Christianity Is wrong. Read Surat Mulk (#67) and find out what happens to you on the Day of Judgement. Read Surah Yousuf (#12) and find out about a boy who loves ALLAH so much, he goes to prison for it.

Just read, and understand, and know that you will get rewarded for doing so, in this life and in the hereafter, Insha ALLAH!!

  7. The Woodeb bowl.

The lesson from the wooden bowl will never be too stale not to forward to "dear ones"...

    >

    >I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now. A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do something about Grandfather," said the son. I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four year old watched it all in silence.

    >

    >

    >

    >One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?" Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up." The four year old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

    >

    >

    >On a positive note,

    >

    >I've learned that, no matter what happens or how bad it seems today, life does go on, & it will be better tomorrow.

    >

    >I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.

    >

    >I 've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life."

    >

    >I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

    >

    >I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.

    >

    >I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.

    >

    >I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.

    >

    >I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

    >

    >I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone. People love that human touch-holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

    >

    >I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

Ive also learned that all this qualities is part of Islam. Allah Akbar. It is our duty to live by its rulings.

  8. It was Waraqah surname?? was related to Lady Khadija her Uncle a scholar. He was a christian. He had met the Prophet SAW before when he visited Sham(Before he had been given the message) and had seen that he had the qualities of being a Messenger of Allah.

  9. Several years ago an imaam moved to London. He often took the bus from his home to the downtown area. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride the same bus. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him twenty pence too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, you better give the twenty pence back. It would be wrong to keep it. Then he thought, oh forget it, it's only twenty pence. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from Almighty Allah and keep quite. When his stop came, the Imaam paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the twenty pence back to the driver and said " Here, you gave me too much change."

The driver with a smile replied " Aren't you the new Imaam in this area? I have been thinking lately about going to worship at your mosque. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change." When the Imaam stepped off the bus, his knees became weak and soft. He had to grab the nearest light pole and held for support, and looked up to the heavens and cried "Oh Allah, I almost sold Islam for twenty pence!" Remember, we may never see the impact our actions have on people. Sometimes we are the only knowledge of Quran someone will read, or the only Islam a non-Muslim will see. What we need to provide, Insha Allah is an example for others to see. Be careful and be honest everyday, because you never know who is watching your actions and judging you as a Muslim.

  10. Tip from Tae Kwon Do:

The elbow is the strongest point on your body.

If you are close enough to use it, do!

Learned this from a tourist guide of New Orleans:

..... If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,

DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.

    Toss it away from you.

Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse

than you and he will go for the wallet/purse.

RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

..... If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car:

Kick out the back tail lights & stick your arm out the hole & start waving like crazy.

The driver won't see you but everybody else will.

    This has saved lives.

Last night I attended a personal safety workshop, & it jolted me.

It was given by an amazing man, Pat Malone, who has been a bodyguard for famous figures like Farrah Fawcett & Sylvester Stallone. He works for the FBI & teaches police officers & Navy SEALS hand-to-hand combat.

This man has seen it all, & knows a lot.

He focused his teachings to us on HOW TO AVOID BEING THE VICTIM OF A VIOLENT CRIME. He gave us some statistics about how much the occurrences of random violence have escalated over the recent years, & it's terrible. Something like 99% of us will be exposed to, or become a victim of a violent crime.

    Here are some of the most important points that I got out of his presentation;

The 3 reasons women are easy targets for random acts of violence are:

1a. Lack of Awareness: swing your arms, stand straight up.

1b. Wrong Place, Wrong Time: DON'T walk alone in an alley, or drive in a bad neighborhood at night.

    2. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS!

The predator will be watching you, & this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, & tell you where to go.

AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR,

    LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.

    3. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:

    a. Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, & in the back seat.

    b. If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.

    c. Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, & the passenger side.

If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, & get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.

IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.

    (And better paranoid than dead.)

..... ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs.

(Stairwells are horrible places to be alone & the perfect crime spot).

..... If the predator has a gun & you are not under his control,

    ALWAYS RUN!

    The predator will only hit you(a running target) with a bullet 4 in 100 times;

And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.

    RUN!

..... As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic:

    STOP IT!

It may get you raped, or killed.

Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

Pat Malone told us the story of his daughter, who came out of the mall & was walking to her car when she noticed 2 older ladies in front of her. Then she saw a police car come towards her with cops who said hello. She also noticed that all 8 handicap spots in the area were empty.

As she neared her car she saw a man a few rows over calling to her for help. He wanted her to close his passenger side door. He was sitting in the back on the driver's side, & said he was handicapped.

He continued calling, until she turned & headed back to the mall, & then he began cursing at her.

In the meantime, she wondered why he didn't ask the 2 older ladies, or the policeman for help, & why he was not parked in any of the empty handicap spots.

As she got back to the mall, 2 male friends of hers were exiting, & as she told them the story & turned to point at the car, the man was getting out of the back seat into the front & the car sped away.

DON'T GET CAUGHT IN THIS TRAP.

I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know.

    It may save a life.

A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle.

I was going to send this to the ladies only, but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it onto them, as well.

Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies

in it and it's better safe than sorry.

  11. I agree with you all too. There is nothing like being with your sisters sharing a cup of coffee and well sharing your life with them . Dont know what i could do without them.May Allah bless their souls. ;)

  12. Asalaam aleykum, What do you think of this sisters?

    >A young wife sat on a porch in Waycross, Georgia, on a

    >summer day, drinking iced tea and talking with her

    >mother. As they talked about life, about marriage,

    >about the responsibilities of life and the obligations

    >of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her

    >glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance

    >upon her daughter. "Don't forget your girlfriends,"

    >she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of

    >her glass. "They'll be more important as you get

    >older. No matter how much you love your husband, no

    >matter how much you love the children you'll have, you

    >are still going to need girlfriends. Remember to go

    >places with them now and then; do things with them.

    >And remember that girlfriends are not only your

    >friends, but your sisters, your daughters, and other

    >relatives too. You'll need other women. Women always

    >do."

    >

    >"What a funny piece of advice," the young woman

    >thought. "Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I

    >just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman,

    >for goodness' sake, a grown-up, not a young girl who

    >needs girlfriends. Surely my husband and the family

    >we'll start will be all I need to make my life

    >worthwhile."

    >

    >But she listened to her mother; she kept contact with

    >her girlfriends and made more each year. As the years

    >tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to

    >understand that her mom really knew what she was

    >talking about. As time and nature work their changes

    >and their mysteries upon a woman, girlfriends are the

    >mainstays of her life.

    >After more than 30 years of living in this world, here

    >is what I know about girlfriends:

    >

    >Girlfriends bring you casseroles and scrub your

    >bathroom when you need help.

    >

    >Girlfriends keep your children and keep your secrets.

    >Girlfriends give advice when you ask for it. Sometimes

    >you take it; sometimes you don't.

    >Girlfriends don't always tell you that you're right,

    >but they're usually honest.

    >Girlfriends still love you, even when they don't agree

    >with your choices.

    >Girlfriends laugh with you, and you don't need canned

    >jokes to start the laughter.

    >Girlfriends pull you out of jams.

    >Girlfriends help you get out of bad relationships.

    >Girlfriends help you look for a new apartment, help

    >you pack, and help you move.

    >Girlfriends will give a party for your son or daughter

    >when they get married or have a baby, in whichever

    >order that comes.

    >Girlfriends are there for you, in an instant and when

    >the hard times come.

    >Girlfriends will drive through blizzards, rainstorms,

    >hail, heat, and gloom of night to get to you when your

    >hour of need is desperate.

    >Girlfriends listen when you lose a job or a friend.

    >Girlfriends listen when your children break your

    >heart.

    >Girlfriends listen when your parents' minds and bodies

    >fail.

    >Girlfriends cry with you when someone you loved dies.

    >Girlfriends support you when the men in your life let

    >you down.

    >Girlfriends help you pick up the pieces when men pack

    >up and go.

    >Girlfriends rejoice at what makes you happy, and are

    >ready to go out and kill what makes you unhappy.

    >

    >Times passes. Life happens. Distance separates.

    >children grow up. Marriages fail. Love waxes and

    >wanes. Hearts break. Careers end. Jobs come and go.

    >Parents die. Colleagues forget favors. Men don't call

    >when they say they will. But girlfriends are there, no

    >matter how much time and how many miles are between

    >you. A girlfriend is never farther away than needing

    >her can reach.

    >

    >When you have to walk that lonesome valley, and you

    >have to walk it for yourself, your girlfriends will be

    >on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you,

    >pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and

    >waiting with open arms at the valley's end. Sometimes,

    >they will even break the rules and walk beside you. Or

    >come in and carry you out.

    >

    >My daughter, sister, sisters-in-law, mother-in-law,

    >nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends bless my

  15. >12 POINTS TO IMPROVE YOUR PRAYER

    >

    >

    >

    >1. Allah says: Out of all the ways through which my servant gets closer to Me, Salaa is the dearest to Me. (Bukhari). So Salaa is an important form of worship - take it seriously.

    >

    >2. Fulfil all your personal needs before you commence your Prayer, e.g. thirst, call of nature, an important phone call and so on. This keeps your mind out of worries.

    >

    >3. Perform your wudhu'u with care, attention and perfection. Be conscious that you are now entering the prayer mode.

    >

    >4. Pray in a place where there is no distraction such as noise, movements, etc.

    >

    >5. Remember that as soon as you commence your Salaa, Shaytan makes it his duty to remove your heart and mind from the remembrance of Allah and you become absentminded. So begin your Salaa with a sincere dua'a seeking Allah's protection from the distractions of Shaytan.

    >

    >6. Keep your mind free of worldly worries, thoughts and ideas. There is plenty of time for that outside the Salaa.

    >

    >7. Bring to mind the meaning of what you say and recite.

    >

    >8. Pray with humility, both in your mind and in your physical manner. Lower your gaze. Do not haste, take your time.

    >

    >9. Remember that in prayer you are talking to Allah directly. You are facing Him.

    >

    >10. Adopt a whispering technique in your recitation in order to remain focused on what you are saying. (But do not distract others)

    >

    >11. Remember , any prayer can be your last prayer, so perfect it. Rasool, peace be upon him, said: When you stand up to pray, perform your prayer as if it were your last. (Ahmed)

    >

    >12. The prophet (pbuh) said: If a man performs two raka's of Salaa without the distraction of any worldly thought, all his previous sins will be forgiven.
